String rattle at the headstock happened to an old Firebird I had years ago. I "fixed" it by cutting the string long then winding it so the string pulls down closer to the headstock due to extra windings on the tuner shaft. That increases the angle of the string over the nut. Now and then slighter larger gauge strings, or even one larger string where it is needed fixes the rattle/buzz. I don't play 7 or 8 string guitars. My usual set is .010 to .046, but on that Firebird I used .011 - .049 D'Darios. It worked and played/sounded about the same as .010s. As for bending, you should use three fingers on the string and you can't tell much difference.
Legator is an amazing brand and they have guitars for the modern player at all price ranges. They come up with their own unique designs and colors that set them apart from all other brands 🤘🔥🔥🤘
Compliments to you for your mix on the SLO100 track. It sounded great, and I'm super glad I already have an SLO30 because I'd definitely want a Soldano hearing that 😂. The Fishmans sound great in an 8 string. Great clarity all around it's cool to see the upper fret markers shift to the treble side of the fret board. I have a Shredzilla 8 in fan fret, and it took a while to get used to the fret dots being on the bass side with the angled frets. If you like the look of the resin filled burl wood, check out the brand Carved from the US. They make phone cases in this style and I've had one for my phones over the last few years :)
It's a very nice guitar. I think I have also seen this guitar on the Guitar Summit this year. A seven string would be my choice. But now I bought a 30" baritone...🤘
My 2 cents: funny that you find that guitar on a Fair in Germany because no dealer in Germany offers this model. I couldn't even find this model in the whole EU. Regarding the guitar legator reduce the lower scale length from 28 to 27,5 which seems weird. Also I think they should have put in 9 string pickups on an 8 string multiscale like Cort and Ibanez. And 2.200 USD is also way overpriced.
i dunno why i only realized this now... cause for years we all hear the term "buckeye burl" or even "buckeye'd burl"... so i just thought "buckeye" was a type of burl... not entire wood species. lol. So should we not be saying "burled buckeye"? just a thought. lol
@@lebarak69 Yep, I was liking the look of the Hype GTR Elite II as my first 8 string - has fantastic looks, a nicely thin neck profile, and decent specs all round. But 25.5 - 28.3" is a big fan. I've sometimes found the lower frets tricky on multiscales where they angle to the left - makes barre chords harder. I believe Ormsby's neutral fret is closer to the middle which exacerbates that even more. That said, I did try a Futura (really cool shape!) in a local pawn shop the other day. 6 string version - with a bigger fan than my own multiscale 7. I was pleasantly surprised, it didn't feel as tricky to play as I was expecting and had a comfy neck. I've also really liked the sound of Ormsby's 'Hot Rock' pickup in any demos I've watched. But they don't seem to do the arm & tummy cuts that some brands give you for comfort, whereas Legator are great for that.
“I’m not a fan of headless guitars” - triggered 😆 you’re missing out man. The visuals: your opinion is wrong. Plain and simple 😆 The engineering: if tuning stability, portability, ease of maintenance, and the lack of needed repair due to headstock cracking aren’t your things, I totally get it 😐😑😐
@@SonicDriveStudio They apparently had a not-so-great reputation back in the day for QC and customer service. I'd heard this had improved but was still apprehensive buying my first Legator earlier in the year. Well it turned out to be one of the best playing guitars I'd ever tried. I got the OT7T model, as I wanted a 7 string with a traditional-style trem like the Gotoh 510, and there aren't many options out there with this spec. I was sufficiently impressed that I ended up buying 2 more! Both from the same Opus range - an OS6 which is an HSS Strat-style, and an OT7F which is a multiscale with Fluence Moderns. The Opus T shape is really cool in my opinion - it's kinda like a Tele/offset hybrid. Just looks so unique for a 7 string in the pastel pink colour. A real shame that Legator discontinued that series, I really hope they bring it back. But there are also a couple of models in their current line up that I would love to get.

This is the best demo song you’ve ever done! Need more like this please!
Jesus Jon, that breakdown around 2 minutes was absolutely brutal. Amazing
One of the best of the year, on or off youtube, even compared to the new music of some of today's bands known for sick breakdowns 😵💫
Thanks guys! 😊
@@SonicDriveStudio I just don't know how you do it.
I've owned a fee of these. They are GREAT instruments! Glad to see legator on your channel!! 🤘🤪👍
tried a Legator 6 string fan fret some years ago... the neck profile was AWESOME... felt amazing... I loved it.
Love your 8-string style of playing. The led killswitch is cool too.

This guitar has locking tuners.
Who are you talking to lol
Sweet axe 🪓 and demo to match 🔥🔥🔥 Actually, I need to rewind that and hear it again.

The top and the head stock are friking nice. Very good video as always 🤘🤘🤘
The earlier legators definitely had some QC issues, but they have come a long ways since then, i own several and they are awesome!
Bro, never thought you'd review somethiung like that)
I love my Legator 8! Got it at a discount so worth it. The other resin tops are satin, set thru and are 26.5-28 ms.

Oh Yeah! 🙌
Those were some heavy riffs. Damn!
Beautiful guitar I have a N8FP!

sounds killer! Curious what bass guitar do you use for recording? Thanks for the video!
Ight I’ll go buy one
Love legator. They make cool light weight guitars or mine is at least

Fuckin siiiick. Looks like something Uli Jon Roth would play haha. Sick tune as well man
.74 for drop E?! That’s impressive. I dig in far too much for .74 to work for me
How do you do it??? HOW do you keep coming out with these SICK riffs week after week?
how do you get your mixes so bright
Looks great. Is this one MIJ?
Korea iirc
He mentioned it was Korea in the video
Im so sad their n8fx black widow is in satin finish, it would've been one of th most beautiful guitars
Can you bend the high strings without hurting?
Sure! The fanned frets do help with that!
Berried alive has entered the chat
Jonathan Donais from Anthrax used to use them….
u should ask to buy it. u should own it
I get to keep it, which is great because I love it!
@@SonicDriveStudio less goo thats awesome. I am a bassist i only use warwick basses amd darkglass stuff

I rather buy another Ormsby!
Ormasby has the insane multi-scale tho

Meh
Own an older 8 string model, donˋt know the name…many quality issues (finish, frets), canˋt get a proper setup (Intonation)…not worth the price.
Legator is trash.
Well, this one is far from trash. Really great guitar to be honest...
