i think this is an honest review of moving around. It does feel exhausting to be a new immigrant anywhere, especially in the cold. I am glad this is super candid, rather than faking it through. We have enough of fake news in reality TV, this is actually good.

Isn't it better to find jobs first and then look for accommodation nearby.?
You can book a relatively reasonable Airbnb room (will cost same price as an apartment) downtown and find a year long lease on something at better rent with employement documents and some credit history.
Yes, you can do that but it all depends. Our priority was to find accommodation first and then look for jobs with a clear mindset. And also, it takes some time to actually find a proper job so finding accommodation made more sense to us. Also, we have not signed for 1-year lease and have got the place for few months only as we don't know where our jobs would be at. So getting a temporary place is a good solution too till you find your job and then you can move anywhere.
@@Peekapoo Ok but generally people focus on finding jobs as your budget of 2k-2.8k for an apartment downtown( min to max price range of a 300-600 sq feet independent condo these days) is clearly more than monthly shared room with toilet Airbnb. If you find a shared place on your own then it's cheaper but a hassle as it requires work and adjustment. Irrespective you will buy things for your own apartment which will be a waste as you move due to high cost of moving stuff. People with kids generally take full places right away on arrival for obvious reason of safety and convenience.
Thus cost wise
Shared room(Basement or apartment)< seminfurnished 1 year lease on basement< Airbnb room with toilet< Long term lease independent condo/ apartment with employement docs< Short term lease independent condo/ apartment.
Thus you are looking to start at the top of the real estate supply chain.

Finding a job can take years. Or months. You find house first. Airbnbs are very expensive yo. Find reasonable house , find job, then upgrade to better accommodations
I just want any potential new immigrants who are watching to know that the brands they are shopping (Moose Knuckle, Canada Goose jackets and even Sleep Country beds) are very expensive brands, maybe even considered luxury brands. There are much more affordable alternatives that are similar or better quality. I mean no disrespect or judgement to the VLOG, because I am enjoying it very much, I just don't want people to think that this is a standard or expectation in Toronto since this vlog serves to help other immigrants.
Agreed!! My jaw dropped just watching them shop , lol I have lived here for 12 years and although I could afford a Canada goose or other luxury brands, other priorities came up such as kids and a big fat mortgage 😆

It's not insulting if you don't like Tim Hortons coffee. It's a brand for the masses so their goal is 'decent' coffee at a low low price. Tim Hortons became #1 because they cornered that end of the market. They've become part of Canadiana not because it's the best coffee but because its ubiquitous. When Canadians want top notch coffee they go to a proper cafe. Btw, good luck with your move to Canada.

They bought expensive items, Canada goose jackets go from $800-$1200.
When you move to Canada, and shopping for winter clothing. Checkout winners, they have designer items that are more affordable. I personally like to get my winter clothing from Sports Check.
I know right.. always sports check for us.. thy have good deals. I god Columbia jacket for 150 original was 300
Canada Goose jacket is well worth the money,-40c wind chill doesn't touch you.
Like your blogs. It's good if it can be informative too like which shop you buy, what type of thing you buy, how to buy etc with data

Enthu Chap - very true . Obviously they came from $$$. I move here 27 years ago & my 1st winter wardrobe was from the Goodwill store & Biway :) . Just in case no one knows what the “ Goodwill store means , it’s a rock bottom second hand clothing store “
Do I regret no --- moving here with $400 US & my 2 1/2 year old daughter was difficult. Today she’s a MD & almost done specializing . Our pass made her who she is today a driven young lady .

Go to ikea for beds, much cheaper. Canada Goose? Lmao. Go to sportscheck. Just a reference for people moving to toronto, go to Vaughan mills and other outlets to get cheaper clothing, winter stuff. Or other brands like Uniqlo, eddie bauer and north face are cheaper than Canada goose.

Toronto is very expensive for residents, let alone new-comers. Not the best choice. Western Canada is a lot cheaper and hS lots of opportunities.

Well, Toronto is expensive especially if you're considering to stay in downtown or close. But I can't really compare Ottawa with Toronto, as I've not been to Ottawa and don't really know the cost of living there. I'm sure you can find some details online. :)

Why both of you spending too much, & you got a job ?!!! also why do u spend so much time walking on your feet instead of getting a cab or any other public transport. Since you already bought the Travel Card. I think it will make sense of spending too much of savings in a new country. One of my friends didn't get a job and spent around Rs.12 lakhs for 7 months, after that he joined a company for temp...now they are fine & setteled. Jut I remind you. Keep your savings tight. Meral Eldawlatly if u want in low range you will get between 100 to 200 $ i Hollister and more places and if u have loads of money than high ranges will be 1000$ + . But trust me Hollister and all that brand are pretty good as i am using one and i live in northern ontario and we had -50 last year and my jackets worked well.! Thanks
it's not expensive at all, in Australia we bought beds worth around …3000 dollars and our mattresses around 1000dollars after discounts
