Great video. This is exactly my concern with buying electric mowers (and snowblowers) especially being in Canada. I’m somewhat interested in EGO brand vs Toro but think it would come down to buying Toro just for the service from local shops. I would never buy this type of equipment from big box stores for the reasons you mentioned.

I’m in Canada and I went with Toro. First reason is dealer support and parts availability. I don’t call toll free numbers like Ego and Greenworks. I leave that to the diy guy. Toro’s mowers and snow blowers are perform better than Ego’s products.

    Thanks, interesting experiment.
I'm looking for an electric zero turn, one of the things I do is look up the parts diagrams for the mower I'm interested in to see if the majority of parts are available. JD and Toro seem to be very good about this.
I just checked to see if there's a Toro dealer near me, the closest one is over 40 miles away which is about the longest distance I'd want to travel but we're pretty rural here so it's to be expected. We do have Lowes and Home Depot but all you get from them is a product and not much more, so I buy all my big purchases directly from the dealer if I can. I did see that you can buy a Toro directly on line from Toro but I don't know where the mower comes from? It might be an option because I do all my own work and if the manufacturer lets me do the repair and gives me the parts it will save me the expense of loading the mower on my trailer a bringing it to the dealer. I just fixed my neighbor's JD compact deck and JD was very good about getting us the parts next day, does Toro do that? I know there's a "right to repair" problem with some manufacturers.
    Thanks again.

Toro electric mowers are twice the price of Ryobi. $6.5k vs $3.7k It should have better support and higher quality equipment

At the end of the day Ryobi is a Japanese manufacture and that is peace of mind for me.

moral of the the story: don't buy a ride on mower from the box store and ESPECIALLY don't buy electric riding mowers from the box stores.

The "Ricky" impersonation was absolutely hilarious! This is a great video regarding support.
