    I have a Walnut Creek extruder and it has gotten way too hard for me to use. I was thinking I needed to get something better & this video popped up! Thanks for sharing this! I’m going to try it out!

      You are most welcome, Gail!! I do hope you like this!! I have used this clay gun for more than 20 years and I have to say, I discovered this modification for the clay gun around 2008-2010. And it was a good thing I did too, it made such a difference. I hope it makes a great difference for you too! Sending you my hugs! :)

      Thank you, Miss Theresa!… To me this is what makes the Sculpey clay gun viable against its competitors. It becomes a usable, clay extruder… that you can now enjoy and not have the frustration or the pain of having to push out clay. Sending you my big hugs!! 🤗❤️👍🏻

    I really enjoyed this video. I actually have been looking for a clay extruder.I bought the Sculpey one and took it back becade it WAS too difficult to use. Ha! Now I'm excited to get another one and the caulking gun. What a delightful idea!! Thankyou for unpacking the whole thing. Now we know where to go to get these things. Sweet!!

      You are most welcome Vivian!! I think you will come to love this extruder more than the others out there. I definitely do!! And just an FYI- I show how this extruder does even more for you on my “Eggcentric Egg Lady” channel. I just released the video last night. And with “Easter” coming up….who knows….you might find some fun there! LOLOL!! Anyway, this is my favorite clay gun. I have found that many of the others out there take too long to use. The caulking gun is a major help!! Sending hugs!! 🤗 ❤️👍🏻

      @@laurajschiller I don't have an extruder yet. It is on my list of future clay tools, but having seen this video, I will definitely do this when I do get one.

      I do hope you were successful in finding all the materials necessary to create your clay gun/extruder!! It has been a little bit since this video came out, but I do hope my information here is still current. This is one of my favorite tools to work with and altering the clay gun has been a godsend for me and hopefully it will be the same for you too!! Sending you my biggest of Biggggggg hugs! :)

    Fabulous tips, thank you Laura. I love the idea of using an extruder per colour. It saves the annoyance of any residue of a different colour contaminating your clay. I always find using an extruder seems to harden the clay so I'm off to rummage through my husbands workshop to hunt down caulk guns, washers and pipe!!!!

    • @laurajschiller
      @laurajschiller  3 года назад +1

      LOLOLOL!! You are too cute!! LOLOL!! And you are most welcome!! And I totally understand that too...I hate my other colors contaminating what I have in the gun. Plus, this clay gun is just cheap enough where you can have multiple guns. Another thing that I like. Just remember to look for the correct caulking gun. It will have that open bottom with the metal 1' bands running along the sides. And if you can't find it, that info is in the video and in the description area. Bless you, lady!! I hope you have a wonderful day! :)

      Awwww, thank you Mrs. Miggins!! It's a nice thought...unfortunately, the items are so common to put together and create this that most people would be able to figure it out and do for themselves. A very kind thought though...I am just glad you might have an answer to making this clay gun now viable for you. Bless your heart and sending you my big hugs!! :)

    I was looking on amazon and there’s an item called workpro caulking gun, it’s dark blue, and it says it has a rotating barrel. Is that what you were referring to about find one that rotates?
    I was so excited when I searched and found that they have electric (rechargeable battery) caulking guns for under 100 that have the open sided barrels that would work with your solution so I am very excited to try it! No more squeezing or turning! Thanks!

    • @laurajschiller
      @laurajschiller  Год назад

      Oh Corinne!! That is fantastic!! I was hoping people would really get the use and information out of this video since I put it together. I would say, so long as the washers and barrel of the gun rest nicely in it, it works. It just has to have that open side. Sending you my big hugs, lady! :)

    I think the sculpey clay extruders (guns) are junk. That was my first extruder and the head of the plunger broke off with very little use.

    • @laurajschiller
      @laurajschiller  3 года назад

      I am sorry to hear that. My experience is very different. I have owned many of these extruders for more than 20 years, and I have yet to throw one away. You might want to check also which extruder you are buying. The Kemper clay gun is very similar to the Sculpey clay gun. And I consider them two different animals. That being said, I believe that if you use this kind of a set up, it might help alleviate some of the problems you might have with this tool. :)

      Cool video. You are just great at these videos. I wish I had the room for these separate color extruders. I have to be on the main floor with my husband so moving back down to the basement is out of the question. Your studio looks nice and roomy.

      Hi Laura, your a genius. Sculpey was my first clay gun, used it once, and thought, what a waste of money. I will definitely give this a go, as I hate to waste things I have bought. Thanks for your tips.

    Hmmm…. The clay extruders are a little more expensive in NZ at $60 each… you have 27…. That’s over $1600 NZD …. Eep!….. so safe to say… great idea but too rich for my blood…. Guess I’m stuck cleaning my one out 😂😂😂

    • @laurajschiller
      @laurajschiller  11 месяцев назад +1

      Ohhhh, I am so sorry...Yeah, it would make sense. I live in the states, so it is definitely cheaper here. Wish I could do something to help elevate your issue here. That is the only thing. Living outside the US you always wind up paying more. Well, if you ever find yourself over here in the USA...I would definitely take a trip to the art and craft stores. Buy up whatever you need and take it with you. I know that would also probably be very expensive...but you might at least get a fun trip over here. And if you ever get to Colorado...come visit me...I love getting company. Show you the studio and we could play in the clay!! Sending you my hugs!! :)
