Watching from New Zealand. Not even a coach driver but your channel is great to watch James. Have fun and safe travels. Looking forward to watching the livestreams (If I can, given time difference) each day.
That bus looks sharp James although I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t ever drive a double decker bus but it does look sharp. We’ve only got one VanHoo left in our fleet. Not sure how old it is but I refuse to drive it anymore because the seat doesn’t move back or up for me. I finally after driving it all day found the tilt steering wheel control, it was on the floor like an d starter foot button 😳, who knew 😂😂. Anyway that thing had me all twisted up in a bind I was in pain. I’m sure the new ones are better by now though. Nice to see your family again ❤
Awwwwwew... I was hoping you'd start the trip near some nuclear wessels. 150-200 miles on a recharge isn't typical cross-country motorco6travel. Probably not so bad for those with tiny bladders and good picnic appetites.
Looks like this is going to be a lot of fun, with a bit of learning thrown in for good measure! Just had a quick question for you, James. Do you have a coach that is your personal favourite? Is it a Prevost, or Van Hool or something else that is your personal favourite?
Save travels. I’ve wondered why they couldn’t tow it all the way instead of going with all the headaches charging across the country? maybe cheaper to transport I guess?
If push comes to shove, they can tow it with all wheels down. Like a locomotive pulling one passenger coach. Hopefully it won’t come to that. Or if James’ daughters get board, set up stationary bikes connected to a generator. Hey it worked on GILLIGAN’S ISLAND. Just being a silly abstract.
@@crabbymilton390 probably would be on a semi truck with a flatbed. I’m curious the costs for paying Mr Wong and his family and the fellow co driver and family versus delivering it on train car or semi truck. It would be interesting side by side comparison.
@@GalenlevyPhoto Well every customer is different. I’m sure they could elect to place it on a flatbed truck or even train car. But most would rather drive it to break it in and catch problems before they put it in service. Most fire apparatus are driven home too for that reason.
James, do you know why this bus has a Minnesota license plate? I was a transit driver in the Twin Cities for ten years, and I remember when we got hybrid buses there… they were like race cars taking off from a light or stop sign! Don’t floor it too hard in this one! I really enjoy your content, thank you!
I am moving back to Los Angeles in November and trying to find a company that pays great and is fun! Or has fun runs! Anyone here can answer this. I am moving because I miss my city. Vegas is not LA in anyway!
I think the mileage proves everything I need to know about EVs, a diesel bus will go all day, if you have to charge your coach every hundred miles or so, that's a serious inconvenience for passengers. Also do people think about worst case scenario, if you have a diesel powered vehicle stuck in traffic for a few hours in heavy snow, the engine will keep the occupants warm, how do you do the same with some battery powered, batteries are renowned for losing charge in winter, people will die of cold in electric vehicles, they are dangerous and not good for the environment, climate change is a hoax, plants need carbon dioxide to live, like we need oxygen to live.
Zero Emissions Vehicle is already a lie. It tokes 100s of tonnes of carbon emissions just to build the thing. Is your grid zero emission? Its zero tailpipe emission only. Rather you than me but sounds like a fun trip in a diesel vehicle!
I don't know why you guys are so high up on that coach. Charging every 150 Miles by going across the US is a joke by itself. Having Super Single tires on the front is another problem. I bet that your spare wheel is a regular size and there is no room to put that extra wide flat wheel anywhere. And last but not least, I absolutely hate that sign that mentions "zero emissions". OK, the coach might have zero emmissions, however, all the emissions have been done by building that coach. I am against all those EV's. Just make sure everybody knows how to open the doors in case of fire!!!!!!
The Coach looks absolutely amazing BUT the 150 mile is ridiculous. Diesel power coaches in Australia the drive Victoria to New South Wales drive around 650 to 700 miles on a tank of diesel Dont know the total distance they can actually do but its a massive difference to electric.
I live down street from ABC and I love watching the coaches go in and out there!!!
Good luck and safe travels Ambassador James, Dennis and families!
Looking forward to following your electric journey. Good luck, safe, journeys and nice Cincy! shirt says a guy following you from Cincinnati Ohio.

Damn he went from Juan to Dwight to Alberto in one second
Have a safe trip. Is your company thinking about buying an TDX25E?
No plans to buy anything electric because it would not work for the range we need for the majority of our trips

Or maybe using it as a rolling advertisement so people are aware there is an electric double decker bus.

Are you going to stop by ABC Bus in Orange County Ca? I used to frequent there when I drove.
Probably not. Our route doesn't take us there

Do you like driving electric bus?
@@kylesimonds6890 yes it was a smooth ride. The charging infrastructure made it challenging to keep it charged
What's the total height of the bus ? Is it hard to travel because it's a double decker ?
13 feet 2 inches. No taller than a semi truck. So not too bad.
Wow this is awesome can't wait to see/hear more keep up the awesome work thank you for doing all this
Looks like the coach has an IFTA sticker. Why is it needed?
Lol great question. Not sure
Good morning sir😅
what's the total height of the bus...
The total height is 13’ 2”
When are/did you start the trip?
July 25th

What’s the battery size and height of the bus?

Dennis going to
tell ABC to give A Better Route Planner the electric specs like KWh and m/KW etc.
