Hi Eunice, I hope that you and the family are all doing well. Yes, growing up in the (USA) we had an iron similar to that one, that we heated on an open fire. It was a heavy solid iron. Say hi to Riley and baby. BLESSINGS.❤

You rock Eunice! Before we got electric irons in the US, many, many, many years ago, they would put the iron on top of a hot stove before using. I can remember my grandmother having one😊

Heey Eunice! Girl the way I just had to finally do my laundry after waiting until every article of clothing needed to be laundered…..🤯
If I had to stand over a bucket to clean them, and hang them out to dry😩 I’m sure if I had to I would.
I have huge blankets and comforters….And I was complaining hard, at the laundry mat!
But I also spent maybe $60 to complete the whole job so…And your process was #free.🤷🏾‍♀️
I watch Acholi Pride because you are amazing, but also because it reminds me to be grateful.
    You are amazing Sis! ❤❤

When I was a kid, we used to have a similar iron, but here we poured boiling water into it! Ah the memories :)

Boiling water? Ah! That must be harder to use

@@NewAcholiPride The metal it was made out of kept the temperature well :)
But when my father was a kid, they used the very same iron you used in the video. With charcoal and all! He still has it around, I believe.

Hello Eunice, when I was growing up we used this in my country to iron. We call it a Goose. I live in the Eastern Caribbean.

Hi, I've just joined your channel. I'm from Cambridge UK. I have a question. How much does it cost, in Ugandan Shillings, to build such a house like yours?

Eunice ..... I So Want One Of Those "Ancient" Irons... Seriously!!!
Me .... I Would Put Rocks Into It.... Along With The Charcoal To Better Maintain An Even Temperature.
I'd Trade You Something New .... For Something Old School.

You can send her money to get, get, get. Do you think if she had the money to get all that she wouldn't?
