I listened to the dialogue and thought the same thing. Pretty sure the story was an effort performed by plugging stuff into an AI generator after work at a normal job, every evening.
The entire city is a 3D pack you can buy for 300 dollar. They litterally did nothing on this game, just bought a few ressources pack and threw them into the wild.
Tutorial should've started with the combat, healing etc then spawn endless waves and have these guys save you. Show, don't tell. Also, it would allow the NPC conversations with you to treat you like a badass, or even have some who straight out don't trust a killing machine like you. Then talk about how they have to keep an eye on less emotional people because they'll stick you like a pig the second their logic dictates.
Just incase running around aimlessly isnt tedious enough we added constant alarms just to tip you over the edge. 10/10 game here. Also how many butter knives needed to buy the updgraded pad

Bro was bidding $1000s on server listing websites and had me doing the sketchiest shit lol.
TikTok is the same, last I heard. It adds fake interactions to boost users feeling of success so that they'll continue to make content. I truly think half of the stuff you see on certain channels/ apps is fake.
