Hi Krypto, when you connect to a VPN such as ProtonVPN your IP address is masked by the server that you connect to through a tunnel. All your data is tunneled through that connection. Therefore any activity you do on the internet while connected to the VPN, whether that's playing a game or using a browser etc is encrypted by the VPN.

the first 7 days proton will let you use their basic vpn which is not bad, after the the 7 days it will revert to the free program which is totally useless, because you will be restricted from most sites, which proton does not tell you, proton is being a little deceptive, letting you think that you will get a functional VPN for free

Yup you can, keep in mind though, with the free plan, there is a limit to the amount of devices you can use Proton VPN on at the same time on one Proton account.
