I don't know how I missed this when it aired, but I'm glad I found it! And for the naysayers, Alton and Craig both have unique senses of humour and it helps to know that before watching them together. They are also both actors in addition to their chosen professions, keep that in mind...
You can tell that Alton wasn't too thrilled about Craig paying with that spinning sugar whisk. He totally maintained his cool with that subtle death threat tho lol
IMHO, Alton is the best cooking instructor ever. I never tire of him. Saw him lecture live once and it was truly entertaining and educational all at once. MISS GOOD EATS!!!!
+Andrew Budd I think "Good Foods" is perhaps the best show the Food Network has ever made and they waste all his potential on stupid food game shows. Alton deserves much more respect than what he's getting now tbh.
+Avery Keimig I think it's fine. He does give a lot of insight on certain methods done right and wrong and does seem to enjoy observing the chefs deal with each sabotage. My favorite is Good Eats, but I'm not entirely sure how he'd perform Live. I also don't think his personality would mesh well with certain guests, so he'd have to have Ferguson-esque guests on his show for it to be fun.. But I certainly wouldn't be against him adding a food talk show to his repertoire :)
+Avery Keimig don't act like it's the network, though. cutthroat kitchen was all alton's idea. he likes that kind of stuff. he distances himself from good eats, too. i wish he just stuck to doing good eats forever
I love Alton Brown and Craig...they were just having fun. Good grief, they're both Dr. Who nerds...they know how to have fun, even if some folks get the wrong impression.
"Quit trying to steal the spotlight Craig......quit trying to steal the spotlight Craig.....quit trying to steal the spotlight Craig" - me throughout this entire video
I got worried when the molten sugar started getting flung around. It cools quickly, but even a split second can do harm. Alton Brown was smart to say something when Ferguson got too close to his face with the stuff, but managed to keep composure and ran with the screaming. Melted sugar can cause nasty, nasty burns!
funny how this sketch shows some of the principles of thermodynamics: namely that a tiny amount of something (a thin ribbon of 260-degree sugar in air) loses its heat a lot more quickly than a large amount of something (a big chunk of lukewarm taffy with liquid nitrogen poured on it). It's all that surface to mass ratio shit.
LokasennaCole how's that? He got his degree in a science field and was never labeled as a scientist, but rather an educator. If you're talking about his more recent, adult- targeted work, the fact that you do not agree with his political opinions does not make him a fraud. If you're referring to the "gender is determined by chromosomes" issue, he never said it. It was a misquote from an episode where he stated that chromosomes contain all of the information to build a person and that several combinations of x and y chromosomes are possible in both males and females. 1 in 400 births has the "wrong" number, and that can mean as many as five rather than the normally expected two.
It was a joke, but it is based in science. A calorie, which when it comes to food is actually a *kilocalorie*, is the amount of energy required to heat 1kg of water 1 degree. So 975 degrees is 975 kilocalories. To put that into perpsective, 975 kilocalories is about 4.5 Megajoules. There are about 33 Megajoules in 1 liter of refined petroleum gasoline, so skipping over the mathy bits, that means one serving of the Worst Thing For You On Earth has as much potential energy as about 137ml of gasoline. Also, keep in mind a "serving" is probably a few big spoonfuls. Yeah...
I think he knows he's working on a time crunch when on live TV, but every host/guest/celebrity always tries to be cute and cuts into his demonstration time.
Mirandu Kan He's this old that's all i noticed that when he was younger he was my fun more enjoyable to watch but now its more independent more focused and we'll you know the apposite of him self.
I think Ferguson was pretty rude. AB on Letterman was fine. You have to expect Letterman to make sarcastic comments about AB's less than conventional cooking methods he demonstrated on the show... it's what he does. Ferguson was annoying. He messed up AB's outfit and you could tell AB was starting to get annoyed. Ferguson is nowhere near the calibre of Letterman as a talk show host. Ferguson needs to resort to childish antics to try to look funny because he can't be funny via verbal comedy.
My two favorite TV people together. Thanks!
Great, now Im sad about 2 shows I miss
Ima Dork then be on the lookout for his new cooking show he announced o. Facebook.
Alton and Craig make hilarious mad food scientists :)
I don't know how I missed this when it aired, but I'm glad I found it! And for the naysayers, Alton and Craig both have unique senses of humour and it helps to know that before watching them together. They are also both actors in addition to their chosen professions, keep that in mind...
+Dawn Hannah These two should get together with Adam Savage and just have a riot tour. Geoff can come too of course.
ninjajake1225 That would be pretty spectacular!!!
Adam and Alton are actually pretty friendly. There's a video of them doing Comic-Con together, and Alton made a couple of appearances on Mythbusters.
You can tell that Alton wasn't too thrilled about Craig paying with that spinning sugar whisk. He totally maintained his cool with that subtle death threat tho lol
I'm sure they talked about this before hand. Alton always comes off as a very smart but comedic man.
They do a rehearsal of the entire show beforehand. Everything they do would already be known to Alton.
@@gibsondanny rehearsal ? what show do u think this is. they do intern stand-in "Rehearsals" for skits
IMHO, Alton is the best cooking instructor ever. I never tire of him. Saw him lecture live once and it was truly entertaining and educational all at once. MISS GOOD EATS!!!!
I miss this show really bad.
Alton is basically a culinary mad scientist
Alton is being wasted on cutthroat kitchen. This guy needs a food talk show
+Avery Keimig Definitely. He's too bright and personable to be used as a glorified game show host.
+Andrew Budd I think "Good Foods" is perhaps the best show the Food Network has ever made and they waste all his potential on stupid food game shows. Alton deserves much more respect than what he's getting now tbh.

That is probably the biggest idea for a waste of talent I have ever read
thank you so much for sharing this.
Two of my favorite entertainers.
I love both of these men.
Craig is the most adorable big little kid ive ever seen holy jesus hes so adorable
No pun intended-They have great chemistry together!!!
this is my favorite video on youtube
the 2 cutest guys on the planet
poor Alton... he looks like he wants to get through the segment and Craig is being no help at all lol
+Matthew Lacaille I think he knew what he was getting himself into when he signed on for Craig's show lol.
Craig Ferguson is a DICK!
My two favorite people on tv :D
I thought Alton Brown and Adam Savage was a good combination, but these two together is awesome
woldrau777 They were on Mythbusters together like twice. Also they went to comic con together, it's on youtube
Luke, I'm aware of this, it's why I mentioned them.
woldrau777 Ah ok
2 of my favorite people!❤️🔥👍
This would be a great show!!!
The fact that Alton was around for the ending speaks volumes!
Best video ever! lol
First time seeing this don't know how I missed it wow hilarious
I love Alton Brown and Craig...they were just having fun. Good grief, they're both Dr. Who nerds...they know how to have fun, even if some folks get the wrong impression.
I love both of these guys.
One of tge funniest things I have ever seen on TV. Imiss them both. 💙😂
"You said you didn't need a special machine to make cotton candy!"
"IT'S A DRILL!" looooooool
oh alton you're awesome
Awwww Craig is SOOOO cute
When Alton was eating the last desert all I could think of was that scene from how the Grinch stole Christmas where he eats a hot bolt and it steams 🤣
AB is my hero!
I know it's just for fun. but jesus christ craig, keep it together man. take some Ritalin
elcaminolovemachine fun fact: If one is not actually naturally hyperactive, Ritalin works like meth. It can even be used to treat narcolepsy.
"Okay, wow. It was a mistake to bring liquid nitrogen anywhere near this guy."
^Alton's thoughts.

Alton is the man
I got worried when the molten sugar started getting flung around. It cools quickly, but even a split second can do harm. That was chaotic
This is great!!!
Alton is stud with the pots and pans...best cooking personality of all times!
They’re like ten-year-old boys. “Let’s go over here!” “Okay!”
Alton Brown! You evil culinary genius! I want to be your groupie!!!
Alton Brown is my spirit animal.
omg Alton should have been a regular with stuff like this
Craig is the only guy who can keep up with Alton's witty responses.
Wow...I wouldn't want to be the intern that had to clean up that stage after the show.
The Bill Nye of Cooking, Alton Brown
Benjamin Britt that's a huge insult to Alton since Bill turned out to be a huge fraud
LokasennaCole how's that? He got his degree in a science field and was never labeled as a scientist, but rather an educator. If you're talking about his more recent, adult- targeted work, the fact that you do not agree with his political opinions does not make him a fraud. The dentis on inventing cotton candy; "I've struck paydirt."
This is what you get when you have a guest chef who knows how to entertain.
these 2 were ment for each other
I love that he did a fake talkshow episode (I believe it was a slaw episode) and here he gets to do it for real and it's every bit as awkward
That home brewed dessert at the end looked pretty good.
At this point it seems like Alton has made dealing with tv hosts an art form. Lol
i thought alton was gana lay the smackdown on craig for a min
Did he just say 975 degrees per serving?
It was a joke, but it is based in science. A calorie, which when it comes to food is actually a *kilocalorie*, is the amount of energy required to heat 1kg of water 1 degree.

Yeah...
@@Draukagrissah how did you get 4.5 MJ? It should be about 4.1 MJ.
geekiest chef meets the geekiest talk show host lol
Now that I got to the end, I'm not sure if they even like each other.
I should not have watched this at work, LOL!
Oh, Fabulously brilliant ❗️& now, I want there to be a scary movie ‼️🎉😍🥳
Me: isn't that sugar a bit hot to use for a food fight?
Alton, 4 second later: this stuff is 260 degrees.
I was thinking he would be a great addition to any show with an immature host like Craigy.Like Conan for instance.Loved Alton and Craig together.
always bring a banana to a party
hahahahah fuck I love alton he's hilarious
this reminds me of 2 of my college professors whenever you get 2 insane people in one room some really funny $h!t happens :D
Nyles Crane!
I'm thinking I'm going to have to try that liquid nitrogen dirt recipe at work.
Alton you are so funny!
That wasn't nearly as bad as when AB was on Letterman. Of course, AB has also grown a lot since then ;)
Alton Brown gets pretty pissed quickly.
I think he knows he's working on a time crunch when on live TV, but every host/guest/celebrity always tries to be cute and cuts into his demonstration time.
He's not really angry. It's all shtick.
Mirandu Kan He's this old that's all i noticed that when he was younger he was my fun more enjoyable to watch but now its more independent more focused and we'll you know the apposite of him self.
tyrie wheeler Ummm...What?
loL sorry guys if my words were messed up my laptop keyboards didn't work at the time and so it messes up my typing lol.
This needs to be a RUclips show Epic meal time meets smosh with a little Russian hacker for fun
If Craig had a nickel for everytime he heard "maybe we can make it harder with Liquid Nitrogen", he'd just be able to afford bus fare.
What this needs is a straight man.
He didn't say nitergen!
Oops. then he said nitergen
So miss Craig’s show.
you can't buy liquid nitrogen dirt anywhere.
uhm just gonna say thats not true... because his last "if i had a nickel" joke i almost pissed myself
Alton brown
Do you even vape bro?
OMG thats hilarious!
Laugh out loud funny. :)
Now that is funny!
Two people made cotton candy
Funniest Shit Ever !
Craig is so much better than Alton ha ha you can see that Craig is really getting into and messing with Alton's mind. XD
LOL what a troll
When late night was actually funny.
lol
Good source of potassium.
I think Alton was funnier than Craig! #culinarygenius

Do boys ever grow up? Lol!!!
Alton Brown is terrific!
