*I love the Input/Output wattage function along with the % of charge remaining. solar **Generater.Systems** Well done.*
this will be very useful in the Netherlands for those 4 days of summer
wait 4 days? I thought we only had 1, first of april. so 0 days technically
Yes SOOO True
Jaa tochhhh
Kamote Kamote be glad it was good weather because thats rare :/
Here in Scotland, we have one day of summer each year
I would really appreciate one of these as I live in South Africa where there is a LOT of sun and not much electricity!!!
Thanks for the video.
WARNING power fluctuating due to solar access can harm your device and overheating in sunlight can destroy batteries, if applicable use a power bank (something that exceeds your main devices mah by 30%) as to have a buffer from fluctuations and access to a good charge on a rainy day or at night. Personally I carry 2 10000mah power banks on any extended hikes. This covers my 6000mah phone 8000mah flashlight/sos signal and my 3000mah rechargeable lighter.
Solar chargers are awesome but they aren't made to plug in devices directly, as mentioned in the video... hIs device was charged at a faster rate which can potentially damage your battery.
Instead, you should use it to charge your powerbank & use the powerbank to charge the rest of your devices
I would think that's driven by the amperage of the port.
Another point: you could use this to charge up a huge 22,000 mAh battery by leaving it in the sun all day long. It would give you enough power to charge phones at night time, too.
I have one of these and charge 2 power banks, out of the 2.4a ports and use the 1A ports to charge some 18650 rechargable batteries, when camping to charge phones and run led lights etc driing the night
You can buy a device that has between 10-25000mah battery with solar panels save carrying multiple devices around
@@urbandisturbin yeah I actually know a product that sounds like what your looking for if you search solar power bank on Amazon there's one with 4 panels and 25000mah power bank attached I live in the UK and was £40 so except around 35 dollar range if live in US
Hey Matt, congratulations on your success. You're a young man and as a mom of a 19 year old son I would be very proud of what you were doing! I found you because I've saved about $100 to purchase a solar cellphone charger for when we go tent camping. Thank you for the information and great advice. Have a great day. Shelley
You could take a portable charger to charge your phone and use the solar charger to charge the portable charger
dodge charger
Hotel? Trivago
Seems a little redundant.
@@racciacrack7579 what if your battery is full at day time and you needed to charge at night?
Abdullai Amir Yeah good point
Mate 2.4amps is 2.4amps whether it's "out of the wall" or solar. If you didn't do the test in full clear sunlight it is invalid for peak ability testing to know if they are worth it. Average bright conditions with a bit of sun 1amp isn't bad but I wanted to know if they produce thier rated power in full sun. If they do they would be "worth it"
Hahaha 23% in 30 minutes. No. Didn't happen. The internet lies again.
You could put it on your car dash.
That's exactly what I did with my Quadro Pro Solar Charger from SURVIVAL FROG.
Glass blocks uv light so it might affect gainz
@@bobfrediii2131 And since you already have a car, why not use it to charge your phone lol
Kinda late...why use that to charge your phone in the car...unless your car turns off and cant turn on is the only reason why i would use it in the car
The main factors with solar chargers is how compact you need it to be & what you need to charge & how sunny your part of the world is.
If your charging normal head torches a 15w panel will do on a cloudy day..sunny day your bank or phone but don’t leave phones or batteries in the direct sun.
If your charging a smart phone you’ll really need the panel to be 15-20w on a bright day..if it’s 15w overcast the panel may not supply enough & you may need a panel that auto resets & starts the phone charging again or every cloud will require you to plug it in again. A good idea is just charge a battery bank under the panel (not in direct sun) & then use that battery bank at anytime.
The price & size of the panel doesn’t feel much bigger as you get to the useful 25-30w range which is more reliable in overcast weather.
Laptops you need 40-70 watts but the folding panel starts to become bulky & it’s less backpack camping & more car or base camp gadget although there not that heavy so they could be used in backpacking or kayak trips if desired.
Anything over that level & your really talking about car or home use..
The efficiency of the panel can be 15-25% so look for that & as tech moves on they get better so ignore old models & check it’s efficiency level.
Battery banks with little 5w panels don’t really do much & your hardly even charging the battery bank on a sunny day & of course who leaves a battery bank out in the sun !!!
I think it's worth the price. With 4 USB cable entries and 4 solar panels, plus a good small size for carrying it around, I'd say it's a fair price. $63 is a good amount in my opinion.
Dang, these would be awesome for those days when you're just chillin with the homies outside on a sunny day, beach, literally anything. awesome video dude would love one of these!
these are great for emergency situations in conjunction with a battery bank. but not practical for daily use charging.
Why not for dayli use ?
good to use at a picnic, beach, outdoor concert, camping...
I get mixed results from my Ravpower 21w, on a partly cloudy day it charges a 20,000mAh battery bank from 26% to 38% (2400mAh) in about an hour, on a super cloudy day (threatening thunder storms) it gets about 6-800MaH per hour. This is the UK.
I was thinkig about this kind of tech last week and yeah , you actually did video about it , insane... I would like to use it so much !
Great for camping and long session fishing and when phone is full can top up a portable charger so night times have plenty of power to watch movies ,deal with emails etc
That’s cool, you just need a field big enough to open the whole thing up then when it’s charged your phone you can ring for a take out for some food as you couldn’t fit any in your back pack
And me being so struck by the product I realise I entered into one from 5 years ago 🤣🤣 still watching in 2021 then haha
Yeah. They are quite practical 👍
But it with a little angle, so the sun is in a straigt line with the panel, it will produce more power
Hmm this is pretty cool yes 10-20% give or take for the test but seems like it's worth it for sure for if your mountain climbing or something would be great for an emergency like that or if you forget to charge phone before going on a picnic
Battery packs are more useful imo. Use the solar charger to charge a battery pack when camping, then the battery pack to charge your phone. The veritable consistency of light to power with solar cells can damage your cell phone battery because the power isn't consistent. Better to damage a 20$ battery pack rated for your phone then a 800$ phones battery that needs replaced through labor costs.
This is so ironic because I just received my solar charger/battery pack today. It works alright so far.
In a scenario where the power goes down for an extended period of time (survivalist situation), or you're going camping, this makes total sense. I wonder how waterproof it is? Would it hurt it much to get rained on?
I'm in Texas. 9 months of nothing but sunny days. The other 3 are just cloudy.
Long as it's day time they will work.its just the bigger one you get will give you a better charge.long as you keep the snow off.these small ones won't work to well.
This So Cool! And I Would Love to Have 1 as its gets around 40-45 degree celsius (105~ fahrenheit) hot in India I bet it will be more useful here!
doesnt seem practical but its the kind of thing where its like, 'yeah i have one'
"Sunlight, good job!" 😂👏🏻
How fast would this charge indoors? Like if it's next to the window
One question: is it waterproof?
I don't even think it matters if it was "scientific" you're measuring real use cases. That's more important IMHO.
This would be awesome for camping if I get one that's what I'm using it for!!
Indeed would be awesome.
in Saudi Arabia this is extremely useful we have 365 sunny days lol, I guess turning solar would be the next goal !
I'm thinking of going off the grid for a few months and my mother is going to buy me one of these so I can keep in touch with her via FaceTime. Do you know of any other ones that keep the charge for a long time?
Idiot Princess you need a solar panel then a power bank so you can charge the power bank in the day then charge you phone from that at night
definitely want one
actually I want it for my sister she lives in an area not always suffers from power down periods that extend sometimes up to six hours so it will be a great help
Do you wash face when you get up? Or before recording?
I want the solar charger! It would be so useful for car rides when every god dang USB port is being used...
Even on supper over cast days you should get 30 to 40 percentcharging.
Yes sir, reporting for duty.
If you use this solar charger, don't put your phone/device in the pouch and out in the sun with it... make sure you get some shading going on the pouch area or you will overheat your device/battery very easily..
Metal Yeah but that doesnt shut down the heat from the sun derp.
Is fast charging possible with it?
Perfect for here in this part of Australia. Entertaining and real review. Good work.
Considering how sunny India is this sounds perfect.
I want one. This is really cool.
I read a very happy review about the "Urberg" 28W solar panels, where they stated that they charged their phone battery full in 1,5 hours, while playing music... Not sure what their battery capacity was, but another review stated that they give out up to 3A per USB port in strong sunlight, which MAY be a typing error, as the website that sells them states that they give out 2,1A per port. The review goes on saying it gives out maximum 3.6A total from both USB ports combined... If this is true, it means that it is limited to giving out 18W (3,6A x 5V) actual power under good but realistic conditions. This is 64% of what they are rated for, but solar panels never really reach their maximum capacity (some only get 45% of what they are rated for), so im guessing 64% is at least acceptable. I ordered 2 of these on sale, so i will be able to charge an acceptable amount (100-200mA per panel) even on overcast days, so i at least have enough power for my GPS device (which draws around 200mA on average with regular use)...

23% charge out of thin air....i will take it. I just need that 1-2% for phone call. 23% is huge.
I'm always going on vacation to places with not much switch-plugs so I can't charge my phone.
This the best and biggest still in 2019?
Can this charge a USBC 4000mah 45WH Chromebook that has a 5v 3a OEM input? How long would it take in direct sunlight? does it have a reverse drain diode protection from clouds and nightfall?
That's awesome, if I had one it would be great for outdoor use
Colorful panels does it change much.
How long will it last for?
I need one of those, so my battery doesn't die so fast when playing Pokemon go
I have single board computer, Rasberry Pi that needs DC POWER Adapter 5V and 2.5A So will I be able to use this Charger instead of DC power adapter ?
worth charging for camera ?
perfect size to have on a dashboard
Having one for a zombie apocalypse would be amazing, hope I get one!
if a zombie apocalypse ever actually happened your cell phone would be completely useless so therefor using this to charge your phone would be useless
its still useful for a lot of things. like if it had books, videos, info on it before the web went dont. not to mention that most have flashlight and a camera. where have you been the last decade?
Juan Alejos If somehow there was a zombie apocalypse happened there would probably be some sort of an EMP blast
Garret R
why?
Juan Alejos it seems that if something crazy like that were to happen another country may try to take advantage and launch nuclear weapons
I want one!! This would be so cool for music festivals and just like all day outdoor events
Sound cool to me, might be worth to get one when i get a new cellphone.
I totally want that. Easily could be useful out here under the California sun...
This would be great for a zombie apocalypse
Unless you're literally going to be away from outlets or home for like 2-3 days, you don't need a solar charger.
it'd be a good way to save a bit on electricity. just put the panel by the window and you'll be able to charge your devices without having to plug them to the wall. it's also useful in cases of power going out/blackouts
.
That's about right, but it's also useful to have in case of power outages like Ray Vun mentioned.
Surprised it has no on board battery ? Is that not the way you would store the power , then charge your phone at your leisure, when theres no sun .
This channel is so unique. He deserves more subscribers and i witnessed matt's tansformation and evolution of his cannel since 100k subs ;D Keep it up bro Love the CONTENT!
so much sun at my house, this would be sick
2 questions 1. whats your daily driver phone and 2. what console do you play and whats your gamertag!
1) iPhone SE (don't hate me)
2) It's a mystery!
2) he is a pc gamer
+MS Tech exposed! :0
MS Tech thx bro dont worry no hate i mean look at my username and channel lol
Great review. I'm sold on the idea of getting one now. Thanks
i would like one of these, because my phone is always empty.
Now try a battery Bank?
Could be good for camping, I would think.
That would be really good to have in the car. I want one now.
Great buy for camping.
People faking giveaways
I would definitley want one, who wouldn't!
We early ppl are so early that we dont even know what to write so we just write "lol"
That aside I like the idea so bad I am planning on building off grid a camping area so be out away from electric for a while which is what brought me here
Actually I want one. In here we don't use these type of technology. It would be a change me and all my friends can use this kind of tech.
You know those friction powered flash lights that you shake incoperate that in a phone charger
Great video. Im gonna be making a video on this soon.
Wait really? Cool!
+Bhavesh Bharambe Yup! lol
So more watz equals faster charge? or is it the hertz?? the amount of solar panels? Idk any of this stuff lol !
They could make it much smaller! But if it is works, why not?
with smaller panels you get less energy ._.
nahuel alcaide
They can increase efficiency?
Volga YILMAZ not yet, it would be more expensive, but when the new type of solar pannel that is more efficient and cheaper it would be possible
Volga YILMAZ when the new solar pannel comes out*
nahuel alcaide How do you know they are using high quality products? Maybe there is better solar panels little more pricey?
1 Problem. If you have no sunlight lets say in the night... You have no juice for youre phone. So that won't work in the night
That's why humanity invented energy storage devices called "batteries". There's no way you're gonna consume 28W solely from your smartphone or tablet, so the rest can be stored in a battery bank for nocturnal use.
Can It power and play devices or is it just for recharging only?
ROLLIN THUNDER if you mean like a tv, it can't because the amount of energy received isn't enough
I live in Mexico and I can say it's DEFINITELY worth it here lmao
I have a similar device that has a power bank built into it I dunno just seems a bit more practical to me
I use a cobra solar charger and it works pretty well and I want it
You use it but u want it??? To use it, don't you need to have one.
+Will he wants the solar panel in the video
Car window shade or moon roof shade
how are you planning to keep this in you car if you are planning to give it away?
A portable solar panel charger + power bank would be better as having electronics out in the sun isn't great for them.
You should just download "AMP" on android and check how much mAh you were getting from the solar panels....
Very interesting product smart solar cell
Got to have one for my next festival
My dad owns a buisness and we have to take like 4 hour+ roadtrips every weekend or almost every weekend and im always having to charge my phone in the truck and its so slow luckily my birthday is next month so ill ask them if i can get this for my birthday
thanks for making an honest review!
Heck yes this is super worth it to me. I live in Hawaii with sun mainly all year round boo me I know Lol! Solar is well worth it but it does come down to price and use for me. This is a fair price camping, vacations and especially emergencies perfect. Love to win it! Great review thank you!
Dude that Solar Power Bank its pretty i would love one
Ate a word its pretty awesome
