You guys are spot on about 1 star reviews. I get the feeling people who get enraged and leave one stars may have trouble with rational thought. I think I would only ever give a one star review to a non-fiction title which was filled with inaccurate information.
"I feel like all good Fantasy is just a really well written D&D Campaign" LITERALLY HOW ERIKSON WROTE "GARDENS OF THE MOON"! Him and Ian C. Esslemont used GURPS (Generic Universal RolePlaying System) to write the world of Malazan as a backdrop for a table-top RPG and even wrote a movie script titled "Gardens Of The Moon" using their gaming experience and the world they had created. However, the script was deemed too risky and failed to sell, so Erikson reworked it into a Fantasy novel with Esslemont's blessing.
I sometimes wonder what drives people to post 1 star reviews like these. It seems so odd, almost petulant to take the time and write "stupid" and willingly post it. It feels clear that the poster just wrote an actually irrelevant comment just to spite a book clearly not made for them. It just seems silly.

To be fair, juvenile romcom-caliber fantasy isn't always a bad thing lol
Some people are more merciful to books then other and some books hurt people and question the intelligentsia of the author
