This video made me look like a heavy duty mechanic in front of my wife when she saw me taking the air filter out and putting everything back together. She didn’t know about this video. 😂😂😂
Thank you SO much....I've been rolling around for at least 3 months with my left blinker out refusing to go to the dealership. I will change it myself this weekend 💗
Thank you so much for this video. I’m not a handy person and my wife’s blinker went out this weekend. Watching this helped me change the bulbs out in minutes!!
That ram air tube that inserts into the lower half of the air box doesnt like to stay clicked in but it all fit back together. Passenger side looks like 2 bolts up top and maybe one lower to move the coolant overflow tank out of the way?
Thanks for adding us. It was actually easier once you showed it. You didn’t have to take the whole air filter system out just disconnect the top of it and remove the plastic intake between the light system in the air filter housing it does snap out. Then there’s enough room.
Thanks for the video... took me no time at all on my 2017. It was as easy you said. Love the commentary... had to repeat the "it's made in Taiwan..." line. Hilarious.
Hey man, thank you for the video it really helped. I appreciate your efforts so much I cannot believe what I had to go through the change mine out same model same year thank you thank you.
Oh no my guy! Sorry for your trouble. I was able to reach my hand between the neck of the windshield washer fluid reservoir and the plastic air intake to access the turn signal bulb without removing anything. If you have small or medium size hands (or maybe if your wife has good grip strength, wink, wink) you should be able to get this done in 30 seconds.
Thanks i needed this. Dont feel like it but i guess i have no choice. We think this is bad though, Mazdas you have to take to the dealership because they gotta remove the whole front bumper!
I have a 2019 Durango and there's a little access cap for the headlights in the tire well. Can you not reach this from there? I have to change my blinker now and thought I could go through there.
@@DomsRusticGarageMore you can manage to get to the bolts without taking out the grille. I never tried since I was really good at removing grilles. I’ve done friends and coworkers’ trucks so I’m a pro now. I used my truck as the test mule. I’ve done all the trims with projector headlights, sport, rebel, Laramie, and limited. I also swapped the guts out of my factory 2016 sport and made it an R/T grille.
They had it thought out...for company profits. A bulb change at the dealership = massive profits w/o much labor. Thousands of design hours go into each and every part which includes a few thousand more hours of review and QA. The difficulty of replacing this bulb isn't a flaw by the engineers, it was done on purpose. Truth is always stranger than fiction
People don’t work on their own stuff nowadays. Not like they used to. Things are designed and made to be cheapest to produce. This really isn’t that hard or that bad.
Got the dreaded "driver side bulb out" warning just like yours showed just last night. Luckily I'm mechanically inclined. I searched RUclips and your AWESOME instructional video was the first to populate. Appreciate you and your wife making this "simple" how-to video. I'll be changing mine this morning. Hats off to you and the awesome camera lady.

Now that’s my type of video. Easy to follow and I had some laughs with it! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you! Shop wanted a hundred bucks for this. It took me 15 minutes to watch, grab tools and fix. Part is 3157NA (amber).

Nice
Thank you for posting this. I just did mine. Absolutely unreal why they would design something so simple to be so hard. Wow.
Crazy. Thanks for the comment
I was pretty sure this is what i was in for, got the same damn bulb out. Thanks for the video bud.
I followed your instructions to the letter (including dropping the bulb!). It was easy thanks to your vid.
Thanks for the comment , the bulb dropping was funny

It really is easy. Thanks for the comment
😅❤🌹🌹
Gotta do mine tomorrow. Thanks for the instruction!
Thanks for posting this video, I'll be doing mine this afternoon. Very good video.
Saved me a trip to the dealer ship thanks!
Awesome
You just saved me a trip and me trashing my suv. Thanks.
Thanks for the comment I’m glad it helped

Your video made this fix much easier and took about 10 min thanks you
Awesome
This was so funny and informative! Thanks for the help!

Brutha… you just saved me 100$ from the dealership… thanks 🙏🏾
I thought it would be more than that but that’s still ridiculous
My front left signal just went out too. This is about as relevant of a video as you can get haha

I’ll look into this
😂😂😂yea no my muscles won't even let me

No problem I’m glad it helped
would this be the same for a 2021 durango? But I need to change the daylight running light.
Very nice video. Now I have to go change my wife’s driver side blinker.
Thanks
Same here, I've been putting it off because it's such a pain in the ass to change.
Is it possible to change the headlight the same way?
there is a small trap door in the inner fender well that allows access to the headlight
Just try a 4th gen Ram 1500 headlight bulb. You have to pull the headlight out completely, makes it easier if you pull the grille too.
I just put aftermarket ones in my ram and managed to do it without taking the grill off
They don’t make it fun

lol ya you just need a really long extension @@RamMan2016
Crazy engineers didn't have this thought out for people to do without having to remove all that

But they did. There is an access port in the wheel well

@@sk8gurlecI was
Gonna ask
Can you
Go through there
Have you worked on other stuff? This is very easy compared to lets say a chevy traverse where the bumper has to come off.
Do I need to buy the orange or white light bulb for the left front turn signal
Do you have a video on how to change the rear turn signal?
No I don’t sry. But I suppose it wouldn’t be a bad idea to do one though
I have a 2021 Durango and I cannot find the “green” cap switch for the life of me! And the white one won’t budge at all.
thanks for the video. wasnt that bad. not even 5 minutes
Thank you! What a pain in the butt
Ya it’s kinda crazy
I'm going to Autozone now. My left turn signal is blinking real fast. My bulb is out.
Now do a battery replacement. Have fun taking out your front passenger seat!
Really ?
Funny dealership said whole part needs changing..over 900 for part... Amazon part 174... lightbulb 7 bucks. Utube video free.
👍
I was going to change mines but I don't trust myself putting all tht back together 🤣
Wouldn't it make more sense to replace it with LED bulbs so you don't or shouldn't have to change it again or as often.
ya IDK who knows how long this one will last the other one still works, I'm good with the regular bulb it isn't all that bad to change
23.6 mpg!?! Highest I’ve gotten is 18.5. I’m mostly city though.
Ya we’ve done some long trips and got 26 and we don’t speed much lol
Left turn. Clyde LoL 😅🤣😂🤪
Lots of young people out there that wouldn't know what that means. HaHa
@@DomsRusticGarageMore that is so true about that 🤪😂🤣😅👍
That should not have been that difficult. Had to remove all of that just to get to the light
Thats a lot just for lightbulb wow
How about the stupid oil filter and the mess made every time you change the oil.
Ya this is the one vehicle I don’t change oil on at my house. It’s actually cheaper to buy a package of oil changes from the dealer
