"Forza 3 Audi R8" - Paper SuperCraft

- Опубликовано: 5 сен 2024
- A 1/6 scale Audi R8 papercraft I created for Turn 10 Studios, a video game studio specializing in the development of the Forza Motorsport series for the Xbox & Xbox 360. For more on this and my other design projects, visit www.visualspice... .
I know what you mean about the folds having white cracks show through. First I do an overprint of the graphics into the glue tabs. Secondly, if you notice in the video, I use a desktop plotter, which cuts perforated fold lines. Then, once the model is put together and any white folds are still showing, I touch them up with watercolor markers.
You should experiment to find ways which might work best for you.
Yo!, it just shows how much passion, skill and patience you guys have at Turn 10, Nice work mate, can't wait for October.
Thank you and keep checking back for more coming very soon.
@mcridiculose Thank you. Glad you appreciate the creative effort I put into this.
@mapkorc10 Thank you. I use tacky craft glue and either 65lb or 110lb card stock paper.
You're absolutely right and it's still there somewhere.
Thank you.
I start something by first developing the design entirely in my head, then I get to work and stick it out until the entire thing is completed.
@stillencharger Thanks, but hey, don't worry too much about what other people do. Just keep working on your own style. That's what matters most.
Dude!!! you're a genius!!! this is very well done. You do deserve a real R8... Audi must give you one.
@Nevermore2007 I use tacky craft glue and 65lb or 110lb cardstock paper.
Only took about 120 hours. Far less than ages. ;)
Thanks for the awesome feedback.
@vinvin365 Yes, it's smooth matte paper. I don't recommend using photo paper.
@PO3nGilmoreGirls Thank you. I use 110lb cardstock paper.
Wow man! Nice job! You're my hero. I don't have the patience to complete a papercraft that complex.
Thanks man.
The company didn't ask me to make any of this. I did it all purely for fun and created the entire thing from scratch on my own.
Turn 10 wasn't even aware of this project until I finished it and brought it into this studio, so blame me for the poor research.
The papercraft has 4 pipes, therefore it's faster and louder. ;-)
@patrick60495 I use 110lb cardstock paper for papercrafting. 20lb paper probably wouldn't work for this type of thing.
I was glueing my own papercraft while watching this.
@mattyrox2010 It's a mixture of Cinema 4D, Pepakura Designer and Photoshop. Thanks!
Five years ago my words would have been exactly what you just said. Thankfully though, through a series of circumstances I gained a different perspective. It's totally up to you how you're going to live out your destiny.
I don't know who you are, but I only wish the best for your journey my friend. I'll leave it at that.
God bless you.
This one took me about 120 hours to complete. Definitely couldn't have done it all in one sitting. ;)
Thank you.
Thanks.
I don't want to make any claims about V3 because I can get in trouble. But, you should watch some of the interviews at GameTrailers and you'll find the answer to your question.
I thought so myself for 23 years of my life, until my life flipped upside down and I finally discovered the truth. I hope you will do the same.
Thanks. He's always first in everything.
That must have taken you ages to complete....that is one badass work of art, seriously unparalleled....you got some talent man, one of a kind at that!!!
I'm so glad you shared the good news with us. ;)
When you showed it with veiw of your house i thought it was a real car Well done
@vinvin365 For this model I used 110lb cardstock paper.
Thank you. I take it that you like this. :)
@xXGuitarMuffinsXx Look at the intelligent design in the world around you. There's not a chance it could have all just happened by accident and on its own.
I tought I had talent but you make me look like like crap, good job man that's very creative
That's really cool..welcome to the family man!
Awesome work! I really like the fact you Thank God and your wife at the end of your video! ; ))
@ammoun2005 Thanks dude. I'm not sure Audi is that generous. ;)
I most definitely will. Thanks!
@PinoyZo1 Thanks. Around 80 hours.
@ZET3985 That's like saying to an artist that it's easier to go and buy a painting rather than creating one. ;-)
@Sam2142rule Around 90 hours all together. Thanks dude.
Why? Because I'm working on Forza 3 and making craft projects on the side? Works for me!
0:25 back wheel is not moving, am i right?
Around 160 hours.
Thank you!
exactly. your welcome, and i totally agree.
Who me? Yea, I wish I could drive an R8. ;)
Thanks buddy.
If I'm remembering correctly, this one took around 100 hours to design and build.
I need some help with the tacky glue, sometimes when i glue it, i touch the glue with my fingers and i touch my papercraft and it leaves a gray stain.
You should cut out a small flat piece of paper for every polygon, and build it that way.
1:55..
Is there a download link for this model?
I would love to build it....
Looks very nice.
Thank you.
there is a serious lack of coffee in these time-lapse video's!
Damn, Do the wheels rotate? Im sure you could make em if you wanted to.
Thank you!
Very cool! Did you model this yourself? Did the company ask you to make this directly?
I use 65lb card stock paper for most of my models.
@KuroiNoKokoro Thank you.
Awesome!!!
I am also huge fan of papercrafts; currently working on Yamaha's VMAX!
Two questions: what type of glue are you using and what sort of paper (100g?)?
Keep up the good work!
How do you even start something like this!!?!? You are amazing dude, I have a question though, for your folds they seem perfect without any whites from the paper middles, I can't really explain it well but I hope you understand. When I fold a papercraft the top layer usually breaks a little bit exposing white from the middles of the paper, what is your secret?
I made the design and I mostly use 65lb cardstock paper.
Just saw your Gundam model. It's insane. :O
BTW, looking forward to the game. Do you know if Turn10 modeled all of the cars from scratch or did they have to reuse some 3D models from Forza 2?
wow, that is crazy, nice one son
wow thats an awesome skill
nice work man!!
@tectonicer You can't. They're not available for this one.
@alterbr33d And why exactly would I want to do that?
Awesome Job !
"Showdown" by Pendulum.
It's at the end of the video...
Very cool... nice job man!
Awesome art work....dude...
btw how much time did it requires???
Was this a hard model to make and unfold?
this is wicked!!! I love the artwork that u did in ur "Honey, can you make something for that big wall"? video!!!! it was really cool!!!!! do u use special paper or just regular printer paper?
thats pretty cool how long did it took to make it?
@kranekick3 Sick was the software free or you had to pay to buy it?
if i printed out just slightly smaller templates then i might be able to make a body sheel for my rc drift
LOL at 1:30 the cat ^^ and car is really nice I think I'll made that with a Nissan 370Z
@HalofiedGamer You should. It's not too late to be a new you.
@spforsupergringo1980 lol, excellent answer. love it. :)
great job,.. it looks realy impressive!!
@jameswray50 Any printer can handle 110lb card-stock.
awsome job man
hey dude, wat 3d software did you use to create your model ?
I recently did a Cpt. Falcon Model from SSB. Would this be harder or only Slightly harder than that?
NICE! 10/5 STARS!
What program do you use to convert image into shapes so it will print out.
thats awesome dude
what printer are you using i wand to make pepakura but i dont know what printer can handel 110pd card stock
@spforsupergringo1980 Do you tell every artist that their work is useless?
Great job !!!

nice dude i looked on ur website and you've done some very nice and interesting papercraft
what paper did you use and how did you get the designs?
very good job! hats off
@darthkille1 You bet it is!
@Featherlake Don't say something doesn't exist if you haven't it.
Most definitely.
About 120 hours to design and build.
haha thats so awesome...i almost want one now..tho it would be very time consuming
@rox852456 Try using less glue.
How you get the .obj from the Forza to open in Pepakura?
Love it very much. I mean you skills and idea, and you scarify a lot of time to done that.
Good Job!! Keep it up!!=)
