Watched this the first time I replaced my tire and after a nail I'm having to do it again. Now it's a refresher course for me. Thanks for making this vid.
Kevin Keys Thanks! I keep it clean. It is a personal preference. I enjoy detailing the bike..... gives me a break from the rest of my responsibilities. After 22,000 miles, she is still as clean as when I purchased her from the dealer!
I am not aware of any, however you should be able to fabricate a bracket that might work. Check out the Honda CTX1300 forum! Lots of good stuff in there.
How many miles did you get out of the back tire and which brand did you go with, I just installed Avon on front and avon Storm on back. Nice Video on this job!
Hi Chris, Thanks for making this vid. Very informative. Wanted to ask you about the saddle bag guards that you have on your bike. Where did you buy them from?
Chris Hansen, In buying the bike was it used or new ? Here it is pricey for new, but to purchase an older model and out of state cheaper. Texas, N. C., and very few in the states offer less off the full price.
Mr hansenctx I follow your channel and i just curious if I could get your opinion on something. I found a new ctx 1300 at a Georgia store and it is $10200 out the door...is that too much for this bike brand new? and would you buy this bike again?
First, yes I would but this bike again! Now... is the bike at the GA dealer a standard or deluxe model? Are there any OEM accessories included? Will it come with the Honda warenty?
Another thing to consider: What price is the bike being sold for throughout the region brand new (Old/New stock)? Do a google search, check out Cycle Trader, look over Craigslist. Then, go to Kelly Blue Book and see how much the bike should cost from the dealer. With all this price information you will have a good idea what the market value is. When you visit the dealer, approach them with the questions I had in my other comment. After then you will have an ever clearer idea of what the value of the bike might be. Understand that accessories are not supposed to add value to the bike, however; if they are on the bike you might want to negotiate. Always have your cut-off amount clear. Do not buy a bike that is above your cut-off. Again, I love this machine. It is wonderful.
yeah both are new at different freedom power sports listed at $11,450 so they came down $1200. 1. yes- standard w warranty 2. yes-backrest, and cargo rack. i was just curious because i didnt know if you bought yours new at a higher price and that sounded like a good deal.
Crash bars were custom made by another Honda CTX1300 owner. You can find more information about them here: www.ctx1300forum.com/forum/honda-ctx1300-general-discussion-forum/17098-manosabe-crash-bars.html
Hmmmm... you might need to be a member of the Honda CTX1300 forum in order to view the link. I am walking to work at the moment.. I will provide you with more information in a bit.
You will need to build your own tool kit. Unlike some BMW bikes where you can easily remove the rear wheel, this bike will require a breaker bar and various tools for the job. If you want, you are able to put all needed tools in the saddlebag.
I just bought my “standard” and was not surprised there was no tool kit but I had hoped that Honda would design this downsized tourer with the ability to do a roadside wheel removal like a Goldwing. For what they charged for this model new you would have expected a top notch tool kit. Oh well. I found mine pretty cheap and only 6300 miles on it and several needed farkles on it. Sold my Victory Vision and downsized to this. Nice video. Thanks for taking the time.

"Stealership" indeed :) Love the CTX.
Chris Hansen,
That bike is even cleaner than most Harley-Davidson friends & Honda Goldwing friends...my bike included and right now it is a CTX700D.
Kevin Keys Thanks! I keep it clean. It is a personal preference. I enjoy detailing the bike..... gives me a break from the rest of my responsibilities. After 22,000 miles, she is still as clean as when I purchased her from the dealer!
Great video. I remove my Saddlebags with a 7/32 inch T -wrench.
Have changed air filter for ctx1300? If so would you tell us how? Thanks.
No I do not. I purchased a new air filter and plan to install it. If I do I will make a video
Great video. I have no brake light on my bike. Any thought on that?
Was it removed?
thank you for recording this. Good job!
thanks!
My motorcycle shop charged $139 labor to replace the rear tire. Well worth it to me.
Good for you! I enjoy the work. Thanks!
GREAT ! Very informative and helpful. Thanks !!
Thanks heariam!
Thank you!
Just curious is there any after market top loading saddle bags that can replace the side opening ones ?
I am not aware of any, however you should be able to fabricate a bracket that might work. Check out the Honda CTX1300 forum! Lots of good stuff in there.
Cool, thanks & you make it look easy!
Awesome video

I had 10,000 miles on the OEM tires. I put almost 6,000 on the Metzlers. I am on my second rear Metzler now.
Hi Chris,

A gentleman on the Honda CTX1300 Forum. Go there and search for them.
I have yet to remove my rear tire.
Did I hear that correctly? "Steal-ership" Lol Great video!! btw
Yup, the 'Stealership.' LOL! Thanks. :-)
I put Bridgestone Battle-ax tires on my Yamaha my father in law told me he got almost 3 seasons out of them

I bought mine brand new in 2014 when the bike was released. Sticker price was $17,999. I got mine for $16,000. Mine is the deluxe model.
That looks like a lot of work!
I can do it quickly now.
..Never mind the anti seize on the bolts, put it on the rubber mounts for the bags
HA! I know! They can get sticky. My bags slide off a lot easier now, since I have removed them so often. Thanks for watching.
Good videos Chris - where did you obtain the crash bars - Steve (UK)

Just search for 'saddle bag guards.'
No way to change this wheel along the road on a trip is there? There is no actual tool kit with these bikes.
