I agree these are four of the Top 15 ever. Off hand: John McEnroe Mark Woodforde Tods Woodbridge Daniel Nestor John Newcombe Jack Kramer Don Budge Roy Emerson Stan Smith Bob Lutz Peter Fleming And many more. But, you’re right, these four are four of the top 7 or 8 in recent memory.
He has a point. Rafa and Roddick both serve for singles anyway, so it is not much of an even comparison. I would never say Rafa wins on his serve. He wins on his endurance and speed. Roddick wins on his power and flat shots. His serve may be a weapon, but no one ever won solely for their serve.
I think I would know exactly where I was sitting, smart aleck, and that I was wearing sunglasses on my hat and commenting frequently to my brother seated to my right.
1st: nadal has won 10 grand slams. I hope the we''ll be 11 until June. 2nd: the only one grand slam that he has won because of his serve is the US open 2010 But anyway, I agree with you. Both Roddick and Rafa have a great serve.
@pararesis I totally agree with you dude. I've always felt that having a cool-looking, traditional pre-service motion is essential to have a great serve. That's why I've always thought Roddick's serve was awful. All of that spastic shirt tugging nonsense. And don't even get me started on Nadal's wedgie pulling. And that arm swinging thing that Mcenroe does? Easily three of the worst serves ever on the men's tour, don't you agree?
Nadal 11 GS? Did you include the olympics as a slam? People saying Nadal's serve is the worst on tour are bullshitting. They dont know tennis....although if nadals serve has been better, he would have won a few more GS against Djokovic...Roddicks serve was the worst is even more bullshitting.....that guy has the best serve on tour for a long time!
3:50 If some guy hit me in the balls... and he and his partner came running up to me... I'd be like, "Dude... give me some room. No offense, but GTFO."
This was a really well produced video. One of my favorites when it comes to dubs because it’s at a good angle, a clear picture without a lot of ambient noise, and it’s four of the best to ever do it.
@weej267 i'm sorry but you're completely wrong...nadal's serve definitely is not one of his best shots but it gets the job done well enough to win grand slams, roddicks hits more aces per match than anyone else on tour, and is actually considered to be one of the best servers of all time. don't even get me started on mcenroe, his slice serve to volley combo is the definition of his game, his lefty slice serve is what won him grand slams...i don't mean to offend you but i completely disagree
the small guy on the non-Bryan team has good hands whereas his partner is a little smarter with shot selection (generally). the partner, though, missed a lot of balls into the net on volleys, which they'll have to find a solution to. i don't mean to be negative. this was high-level play and fun to watch!
in doubles they play a 10 point tie breaker instead of a full 3rd set .. thats just how it is .. they do play a normal 7 point tie breaker at 6-6 just as singles ..
great match! wouldve loved to see the Bryans get up tho =[ i still dont think professional mens doubles matches should b decided by 10 point tie breaks =/
These guys are All Time Greats. I strung rackets for the Bryans and Paes and they couldn’t have been more gracious. Perfect gentlemen.
No disrespect to any of these All-Time Greats. I just met and string for three of them. I agree. Bhupathi is also great.
4 of the 6 best doubles players ever
I agree these are four of the Top 15 ever. Off hand:
John McEnroe
Mark Woodforde
Tods Woodbridge
Daniel Nestor
John Newcombe
Jack Kramer
Don Budge
Roy Emerson
Stan Smith
Bob Lutz
Peter Fleming
And many more.
But, you’re right, these four are four of the top 7 or 8 in recent memory.
Nice camera angle view. Better than on the tv sports channels.
No one has hands like Paes. The guy can hit any angle he can imagine.
Paes has to be one of the best doubles players ever
quay quayy no paes
I like the way these are filmed more than on TV. Any chance you can make more?
Thanks for uploading this video! It allows me to take a good look on doubles strategy and footwork. I appreciate it!
Very nice video !!! Many thank for the upload
this is the highest level of dubs ever....4 best guys as far as volley, return ,touch concerns
ボール当たった時、すぐかけつけて心配してくれる人好きだわ
Paes and Bhupathi had the potential to scale the heights that the Bryan brothers did but they fell out with each other and that was that. What a pity!
What happened at 3:51? It looked like he got his racket on it.
Love the rude umbrella!
3:51 ... ouch!
I think I would know exactly where I was sitting, smart aleck, and that I was wearing sunglasses on my hat and commenting frequently to my brother seated to my right.
damn, this was an awesome match
4:20 I’m not sure who all noticed that lady talking in Hindi.... rude words though.
absolutely absurd level of volleying
when that dude was receiving after the nut shot I said, "no way he gets this back." jammed him so bad he nearly lost his thumbs
hey wasnt talking worst as in least effective, he was talking about how they looked, visually. read the comments before you get all annoyed
doubles can healp your singles A lot
00:13 epic head fake fail. You're no Federer, Bryan!
Awesome!!!
@tennisproderek He wanted to make it look as if he was throwing the ball to the right and then throw it left.
no one ever said that... he didnt even read what we were talking about, not the serves effectiveness but how it looks.
Are tie breaks different in doubles than in singles?
if you haven't noticed - there are many people in the crowd wearing white hats...
up 5-2 the star spangle banner starts and Bob makes one shot the rest of the way
How come they played a 10 point tie break instead of a third set?
Thats the rule in doubles buddy...
1st: nadal has won 10 grand slams. I hope the we''ll be 11 until June.
2nd: the only one grand slam that he has won because of his serve is the US open 2010
But anyway, I agree with you. Both Roddick and Rafa have a great serve.
Paes carried the game for the team. Bhupathi looked the weakest of all four. Bryans are the best doubles ever seen.
But it's still a tiebreak, I don't see why a third set can't be done.
Nadal 11 GS? Did you include the olympics as a slam? People saying Nadal's serve is the worst on tour are bullshitting. i saw foot fault like every time
yea...?
0:43 Australian formation!?!?
i think nadal hasn't a good serve.. it's not bad obviously but not his first weapon. roddick had an amazing serve at his best.. now he's gone
3:50 If some guy hit me in the balls... and he and his partner came running up to me... I'd be like, "Dude... give me some room. No offense, but GTFO."
If you get hit in the balls that’s on you. He could’ve used his racquet to protect them but didn’t. That’s tennis.
their*
lol i love you
2:19
Jelas Seneb kui
its true tho
Not often you see the bryan bros lose
The right handed Bryan plays better than the lefty
the borh
rafa only won 10, just sayin
Paes and Bhupathi are legends. Bryans are ninza, super quick as team but Paes at his best is another express 👍
2:30 that's what I like to call a Moses
man stfu
Paes had some nice Aces. What has he not got? guy just born to play doubles
Every time I go on RUclips to watch tennis videos I end up go through this again. Amazing play and great vid!
This was a really well produced video. One of my favorites when it comes to dubs because it’s at a good angle, a clear picture without a lot of ambient noise, and it’s four of the best to ever do it.
ナイスボレー
And one more, if you find someone in Roddick's height, no one can serve that fast. Not in the next few years.
Thanks very much for uploading the video. Great coverage, amazing clarity and camera positioning. All the very best.
What if isner and karlovic played doubles together? 0_o
Nadal did not have a good serve until like 2010...
skateandtennis and then it was too good and he had to change it
the both the same deathbomb could u be any better than the Bryan Brothers
@weej267 i'm sorry but you're completely wrong...nadal's serve definitely is not one of his best shots but it gets the job done well enough to win grand slams, roddicks hits more aces per match than anyone else on tour, and is actually considered to be one of the best servers of all time. don't even get me started on mcenroe, his slice serve to volley combo is the definition of his game, his lefty slice serve is what won him grand slams...i don't mean to offend you but i completely disagree
This camera makes the ball seem like its moving so slow and makes it look like the players aren't even hitting it that fast.
Best Asian vs best American double in the world.
doubles players are fatter.
the small guy on the non-Bryan team has good hands whereas his partner is a little smarter with shot selection (generally). the partner, though, missed a lot of balls into the net on volleys, which they'll have to find a solution to. i don't mean to be negative. this was high-level play and fun to watch!
And nice touch with the score display
i gotta big doubles tournament tomoro and this gets me so pumped lol
in doubles they play a 10 point tie breaker instead of a full 3rd set .. thats just how it is .. they do play a normal 7 point tie breaker at 6-6 just as singles ..
great match! wouldve loved to see the Bryans get up tho =[ i still dont think professional mens doubles matches should b decided by 10 point tie breaks =/
@gwinig11 yeah but think about how fast they have to react when there at net o.o i think its pretty intense in my opinion
Well they can be, obviously because there is not nearly as much running in doubles than there is in singles.
bhupathi's service motion at the start looks so stupid.. and is completely unnecessary.
@HighDefinitionTennis Or maybe it's an intentional headfake to trick his opponents?
0:11, wtf he looked away as he hit the shot, that ws so dumb looking it made me laugh.
0:12 that head fake tho lol
Laender paes and Mahesh bhuppati are beast pair in 👏👏👏
Paes and his magic hands.... Brilliant
This Super(Stupid) tie breaker system has to be banned. Has more cons than pros
3:50, AAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!
Both are indians players I am proud of you
3:57マイク紳士的。向かいに行くところが・・・
3:57
@GrantColvin13 your head blocking my view... ahhahaha jk
hahahah nadal did not win 11 grand slams with his serve
damn. they were killed. this was really good though
Ah, well it sucks so he should stop doing it :)
@tennisproderek naked woman in the stands
💐💐💓
video quality must be deteriorating through the years
7:33
@John Gones I second that. Tell me I'm shitty.
Doubles tennis is so boring to watch and play. No types of rally's.
babolat racquets r famous :o
1:15 aha the synchronization
The Bryan brothers are so in synch when they're receiving it's amazing!
Great match !
Thank you so much for this excellent footage!
@F1shguy Sarcasm?
This is HD?
YES! Good catch there.
great game!
