You did an awesome job. Those are some beautiful boots now and they look to be comfortable. I’m going to try to replace the welts and the soles on a pair of shoes. I have. I have a question. Please answer it for me. I can’t get anyone else to give me any information, what size and type thread did you use to sew the wilt on and what size and type thread did you use to sew the soul on with thank you very much and you did beautiful work
Interesting. The foam on top of the cardboard on my Diplomat (moc toe) is so thin, it may as well not even be there at all. This Hero has way more foam and insole. Still decent comfortable and supportive but not “sneaker-like” how some Thursdays are described. I could see the Hero with all this foam feeling more like a tennis shoe haha
Thanks, They fit way better I’m a tell you guys the whole story about these boots I actually have 2 pairs of the same , stay tune Thanks for watching!!
@@Highland_Paddy the whole reason for the re-craft was due to the tight fit. Seemed like a no-brainer that the video should have ended with him trying them on to confirm his work solved the issue. I saw others with a similar comment.
Yes, that would have been a nice touch, and supposedly leather stretches a little with wear, BUT as a professional tradesman, I would have liked to see more forethought as to what the end result would be BEFORE pulling off the outsoles and HOPING...... I mean, if he doesn't know how they will fit HIM, what chance do I have if I bring in some boots? One size fits most is OK when I buy them for 200 bucks, but not if I'm shelling out a bunch extra. [Also I made the first comment before the vid ended, but since he's at work, I guess he can't change his shoes before he goes on to the next pair....]
Hey,my bad I totally forgot to show you guys that Part. I wasn’t trying anything, I new they would fit me good after the Re-craft I will actually make a second part and tell you guys the whole story behind these boots and let you know why I actually have 2 pairs of the same boots. Thank you for watching!!
The Diplomat boots were very disappointing overall in fit, but most of their boots run small, so I'm surprised you went down half size for this. BUT I'd be curious to see what you think of the new Challenger model and if you could approximate any of THAT arch support in a rebuild.
Yeah, I don't like those pull tabs, either. Especially not cheap when the rest is leather. Adding the lace holders is nice touch since not gusset, etc.
Salu2 Aaron. Aunque son tus botas, estaría bien que para los trabajos a tus clientes, te hicieras un logo sencillo e imprimirlo dentro de las botas. Y si quedaron mucho mejor que de agencia como decimos,ja ja ja.
Hey Aaron. Nice work. Question : On your Thursday Diplomat Boots, did they have the same foot-bed as these new Boots you reconstructed? And what was the difference after you changed everything out on these New Black Boots? I'm asking because I been Thinking about purchasing a pair of Diplomat Boots and wanted your opinion on what I should expect if I choose to purchase them? Gracias🙏🏽 ...
those diplomat boots run SUPER narrow and I find that when they say go down half size in the other models, I usually must go true to size or even half UP. They are still going to have foam footbed instead of leather, and I don't know if they will have a shank BUT if you're going with a more "cushion" wedge sole, I don't know if that would be the thing that bothers you as much. But, for a hundred bucks more could also try a pair of Red Wing wedge sole with the leather and compare, but then they have that giant toe, etc.
Thanks Roberto, All of their $200 dollars boots have this type of footbed including the diplomats, you can go half a size up and that could solve the problem but I’m between sizes on them. As for the fit, after the Re-craft they fell way better now that they don’t have the same foot bed, They are ok for $200 I just don’t want to buy the anymore. Just my personal experience/Preference BTW they just came up with a new stitch-Down line and some of them have a leather footbed, but again I’m done with Thursdays. Cheers!!
I have size 10 Iron Rangers and Blacksmiths, and my size 11 Thursday Captains fit a little tight. I don't really like the padded foot bed. I have a 9.5 Chippewas that were unbearable with the moulded footed and perfect without.
Thanks for deconstructing the boots and showing us what inside looks like. Now we can decide for ourselves if we want insoles made with foam, paperboard, and cardboard. This shows everyone that these are the level of quality that you get at Wal-Mart.
Those look great! Have you thought about trying a pair of the Jim Green boots? I got a pair of their 8 inch ranger boots and loved that they have a wide toe-box.
That wasn’t the point, I already have GS boots. But you’re right is not worth it, I did it ( because I did it 😅) I wrote that in the description. Cheers!

Smoking hot upgrade on those Thursdays. Waaaaay better than originals.
That tongue keeper is a must on these boots, nice addition!
Wow they look so much better after the work done to them.
Your boot videos are the most informative of all the ones I have watched.
Keep up the excellent work.
