There seems to be an issue with IOS and the Microphone actually switching to the USB C or Lightning connector. I have tried both on my USB C iPhone and Lightning connector iPad's. Every now and then it appears to work, and then eventually stops getting audio. I've ordered several different cables, USB C connectors, etc..... Was awfully frustrated because we hiked into the Payette National Forest last week to the site of the B-23 Dragon Bomber crash site. Very cool place to play radio. 13 mile loop hike. I brought my KX2, Packtenna antenna, and both iPhone and iPad. The cables decided not to work during our lunch break at the crash site. I did eventually get a signal out, but made no FT8 contacts. I'll love this setup when I get my cable issue figured out. Thank you for your videos, and the Workbench Podcast. I really enjoy them both. - de W7MN

Nice video. I am new to the KX3. Followed all the instructions...RX is okay. BUT the KX3 never transmits...any suggestions I can look into? Thank JOHN
The one thing that gets overlooked most often is putting the radio into VOX mode. Give that a try, and if not peek at Mark KD7DTS' video that I linked in the description.

So I ordered all the cables you described from Amazon. Without cables iPhone decodes fine on iFTX. WITH CABLES nothing. Tried changing out the splitter and the TRS to TRS cables,no change. Modified KX3 settings as you described, still no decodes. Any suggestions??
What I noticed with my cables were that the TRRS were *tight* to fit. Remove and insert again with a bit of force and they fit. Also keep in mind the cable marked Mic goes into the Phones output of the KX3, and the cable marked Phones goes into Mic.
@@VE6LK Vince, have checked tightness of connections on all cables. Have switched out all cables and adapters including the TRRS adapter. For some reason audio is not making it to or not appearing in the iFTX App. Any other ideas. Seems like I must have an incorrect setting somewhere??
