@spyinfiltrator the main one is that too many films today seem formulaic, not saying the dark knight was as i've heard it definitely did some unique stuff, but that's the reason i don't watch *most* new films.
the second reason is that being a video maker myself, i want to avoid unconsciously/subconsciously stealing ideas from movies, so i try to keep away from that happening as well.
let me repeat: this is how i talk to some people in real life, without trying to be funny
