Since I live in Qaqortoq (ka kor dok) let me educate you about our town and Nanortalik (na na da lik) . Population is around 3,800. Qaqortoq is the largest town in South Greenland. The lake you mention is called Tasersuaq (Big Lake), The weekend you were here, the bugs weren't that bad. In fact you came when there were at their end of being around. Where you mentioned the Yellow and Green 18th century building being the Blacksmith. That is incorrect. Only the foundation of that building is from the 18th century. The Blacksmith building is behind that building across the road. As far as the car traffic, maybe tourist shouldn't be standing in the middle of the road. Shrimping is not done in South Greenland. The Museum was built in 1804 and is a prefabrication that was created in Denmark and then taken apart and shipped and then put back together. The stream is the river that runs from the mouth of Tasersuaq down to the harbor. The lake (Tasersuaq) Is a fresh water lake. There are NO seals, humpback whales or fin whales in this lake! The young people swim in the lake. There are no motorized boats allowed in the lake since our drinking water comes from the lake. As far as temperatures. We have had 72 Deg F here this summer in July. While hiking around the lake, you might see a fox. However, There are no reindeer or hares here! You have to go by boat far from here to see them! Two year college is also offered here as well. The fountain was built in 1932, will be 100 years old in 2032. It says no wifi/toilet because the hotel cannot handle the mass influx of tourist. Us regulars have access to both. You only saw a small percentage of our town as well. We are spread out wide. You should educate yourself before making comments that aren't true. I'm glad you enjoyed our town. It is around 11 kilometers around the lake. Sagalands offers all kinds of tours. :) :)

Enjoyed the video, sad that you were here at the worst day ever last year. Big fire at the dump and trash collection on the harbour. We were all embarrassed that a cruise ship came that day.

I saw that and wasn't sure what happened. Oh don't be embarrassed. We absolutely loved visiting; it's a beautiful town and hope to visit again someday.

I was almost the same time there with Princess, you were REALLY lucky with the weather, glad for you! I heard the next Carnival just needed to turn around for bad conditions

Yeah, I heard about the one in September. I knew a couple on that cruise. I hated that for them. Unfortunately, weather is just one of those things when cruising. I would love to cruise on Princess. I think we are booking Princess in 2024.

I'm curious did you see the Northern Lights while in Greenland? I was planning on doing this same cruise.

Yes, we did. At times it was easier to see through the camera. Some of us were taking pics and it would show up better on our camera than what we could see. But, yes the night we left Nanortalik heading to Qaqortoq we were able to see them.
