Really, you'd never know it cos every 'time' she is covered, ALL they ever do is bring up that bloody 'Kids' song first and foremost. Never mind that as the best female EVER, any amount of songs should bee utilised for a change at least. You'd do this for any other band or solo act. Does anyone keep going back to slagdonna's 1st, Kylie Minogue's or Depeche Mode's 'Just Can't Get Enough' whenever they're interviewed. No. Never mind, 2nd album "Select" was a bigger Aussie hit than her 1st album, making singles like 'Ego'-actually released in Australia, and the rest from it more pertinent. Granted Australia was as stupid as her own country in just 2yrs, and when they should have been supporting her best album yet-"Catch As Can"-they didn't. Look above-do we REALLY need that effing lie-"known for hit 'Kids In America'. Try all the other 40 or 50, which would have been more had her labels made a level playing field and take a handful of singles off each and EVERY album, especially the 80s ones. What is the POINT in him introducing her correctly as a" big star with a stream of massive hits and we've 'loved' her ever since". Really, cos it's a funny way to show it.

She AND Ricky have freakily and stupidly buried it so far in the past, it must be under the core of the earth by now. She still hates class songs like 'Child Come Away', 'Dancing In The Dark' and all the other intriguing and exciting 80s songs she hasn't done live since before CDs became popular! This carries on with the later stuff too. I think she did rest on her laurels too much-when all the labels began screwing up her career from the start-by halting ALL FURTHER releases once an album is out (who the hell DOES this, especially when you're starting out?! she and Ricky never tried to fight it nor question why around no more than 2 singles came off most albums, especially when hits. You're supposed to keep a thing going, and the market was NEVER flooded in the UK with her stuff, it just gave the impression cos she did so many albums, but actually, there should be 30 singles at last throughout that decade, not what dribbled out under tight strictures. Hell, none of them even recognise 'Boys' is NOT a B-side-it's a double-A-, the Guinness Singles Books tell us that! Granted it's the weakest B-side she could ever make a single in the 80s, but then that 'Kids' song was already out anyway! She should take the trouble to think: "Oh, 'Ego' was released over here, and my album "Select" was one of my hugest in this country, so concentrate on that a bit. But she won't. I tell you what, when she says at 2:33 that "she loves singing"-she doesn't. She ONLY loves singing the same 10 songs she always does, with sometimes rest of "Close" album, with a load of covers, which seem to increase to mark whichever pop star has recently fallen off their perch. She LOVES singing other people's songs, not the vast majority of her own, only 15% at the most of her music career matters to her, which she proves with every repeat playlist she does. She carries on saying: "I've toured more now than I ever did in the 80s!" EXACTLY my point! When she HAD the great songs to showcase, she barely did the shows, and while I've no problem with anyone preferring touring now and being more comfy with it, I DO have a problem with hers cos she doesn't DO anything worth hearing we haven't heard at EVERY show since the 2000s. She pretends to celebrate a 40yr career-what based on just 10 songs then?! Great stuff. And she finishes with: "The 80s was more about all about video, TV and radio". Not for her it wasn't. I could name you at least 10 songs of hers that never got a video to promote them, always supposing they were released but the Falklands, and as for radio, she was hardly cluttering playlists up Muckdonna/Michael Jackson/Eurythmics/Prince style etc. all when only about 2 or 3 songs come off each album, and that's just back home! Jesus, she's such hard work regarding her career.
Kim Wilde is such 80's and even 90's Pop music icon, Kim had a lot of big hits even in 90's "If I can't have you " was so huge in AU I believe it went even #1 didn't ?
