Billy Sheehan is the God of Rock n Roll Bass and yet he is the most humble and down to earth person. He could put down the bass and talk about anything, and you'd still be amazed and inspired. Thank you, Billy! Thank you, NVD for doing the interview and rig rundown. Rock n roll!! ❤❤🤘🏿🤘🏿
I've watched Billy's rig rundown throughout the years and never got bored with his explanation. You can truly feel the passion in his voice as he walks you through his gear.
He knows his gear inside and out all the way down to rebuilding his Pearce preamps on tour when they'd get damaged in transit. I've met him a couple times and he's always been kind and personable!
Billy is such a great guy! So into gear and loves to talk about all the ins and outs of what he uses and why. How many guys can give a rig rundown like this with all the detail without a tech filling in the gaps? Not many! I’ve even had him reply to a couple forum conversations about rack gear and the Dan Pierce designed stuff like the ART Rulesbreaker amps......he knows his stuff!! 🤘🤘
I saw Billy at a bass expo in Myrtle Beach many years ago. Wooten, Steve Bailey and I can't remember the other player. Billy was so entertaining to watch. His personality, energy, skill, and originality all came together for an incredible performance that really made him stick out from the rest. I believe Gregg Bisonette was playing drums.
Billy Sheehan is such a down to earth person. His interaction and enthusiasm about his gear tells me that music is absolutely his passion and just wants to play music ....amazing story teller..... thank you Billy for sharing
Fantastic interview. Incredibly informative and a great insight into Billy's setup and gear. Thank you for posting. Billy is quite personable...a rare trait amongst entertainers of his caliber.
Hey Nick such a nice interview! I Wish you keep playing with the band and make some new tunes ❤. That’s would be fantastic!. Anyway I’ll see you in London next year! Bless ya!.
Can't believe I saw him live recently in my godforsaken city. Felt unreal and one of my dreams came true so unexpectedly. 90 % of the show I was staring at Billy's playing.
Hopefully this farewell tour isn't goodbye forever. Mr Big should make Nick a permanent member and Sweetwater is a perfect platform for all of this amazing behind the scenes. It would be awesome if Sweetwater has any behind the scenes stuff when they were recording the album there.
Billy is my most favorite bassist Because he is here so I could be professional bass player now My play style is made by his style I hope to pass along his technic to next generation

Man i feel like billys boot can miss one of those keyboard notes lol. I'm only 5 '6 and I've hit a double footswitch by accident on many occasions on my GT100. lol After 25 years of jamming my foot slips on occasion. Love this bass rig!
I did, presumably just an edit to get a certain shot. In some countries specific heads are not available, so something other than Billy's usual choice of head is used.
The Wierdocaster is getting a second output. I am just greedy, and want another set of amplifiers singing in harmony. ...and they left room between the old pickups, what choice was there? 🤷♂️

He is definitely a nice guy and a rock legend. It is such a shame that he is a brainwashed cult member.
Let him believe in what he wants... he is still a super nice, down to earth person!

As an upstate New Yorker, been a fan of Billy since the 70's with his group Talas. Great bar band then.

WooooW Nice Billy's words about you Nick !!! At the end 🎉❤🎉
Can't believe I saw him live recently in my godforsaken city. Felt unreal and one of my dreams came true so unexpectedly. 90 % of the show I was staring at Billy's playing.
I love this guy. Master musician and a kind person.
Billy trusting his Pearce preamp rig to Line 6 convinced me to go with a Helix.
What a great guy and amazing Bassist.

Hello there Mr. Sheehan. Thank you for the rig rundown. How about the Ampeg?... Cheers and thanks in advance
Awesome!!!❤❤💯💯
Billy!
See you in Nashville

Billy is the rockstar next door. Hi from Ffanklin.
Would it be possible to get an export of Billy's Helix setup? I know a lot of Helix Bass Players would love to use it!!!!
Legendary just as Paul and the bunch
Yamaha basses are great!!!
Great
Hermoso Billy 😍
Weird that he’s not using his signature bass overdrive anymore.
He does use it sometimes, but I suppose it replicated the sound of the Pearce in some ways and that is now built into the Helix.
Go on tour with steve vai again!
did he leave the winery dogs too? confusing because the winery dogs are supposed to currently be on tour too?
This is from Mr. Big's Asia tour a few months ago.

Does he still secretly play Ampeg? The 3 Hartke amps seems to have been thrown there last minutes 😂
Anyone else notice the switch from an SVT-2 to the Hartke head on top of the middle 1x15 half way thru the video
I did, presumably just an edit to get a certain shot. In some countries specific heads are not available, so something other than Billy's usual choice of head is used.
Simple setup is an understatement lol

Top blokes!
Love Billy and his gear! Still that SVT-2 does not match with all the travel/cost effective/safety/reliability speech.
Provided by the promoter. Billy's choice of amp/speaker is not always available in every location.
🤘🤘🤘
Nick D’Virgilio great job with this.....Giving the People what they want
❤
not a lot changes with his rig xP
Buffalos Baddest!
👍👍👌
YAMAHA BOUGHT OUT LINE 6???
Yeah they did back in 2014
7:15 “…it’s a pretty simple setup…”
Billy should be teaching
Fender tone knobs are not as useful as, say, G&L tone knobs. Just sayin'. 11:48
Fantastic player with incredible experience and techniques! BUT I don't love his tone!!😅
Amazing bassist but his tone is poop
YAMAHA IS LINE 6???
WHAAAAAAAAAAT
they own line 6
Ampeg too
