Isn't the ending scene where Jensen could not stop crying after they yelled cut and had to take a walk down the road to calm down? He's so good at what he does.
Yes. That’s the scene. Which is why I think the boys need to watch BTS videos. It’s one thing for us as fans to tell them about it. It’s totally different to hear the actual actors talk about that experience.
Dean fucking Winchester slaughters my emotions every chance he gets. Jensen Ackles said that he couldn't stop crying after filming that final scene and had to take a walk off the set to calm himself down.
Dean really is one of the characters of all time like. There's just so much to him the way Jensen played him made him so special and endearing to so many people
Honestly in a way he kinda helped pave the way for emotions on guys being more culturally acceptable to show. I remember when this show was big Dean was a character a lot of guys admired, and the fact that even he, the tough super macho dude was crying had a pretty big effect, at least for me and the people I know.
The last scene kills me every time. It is the core of Dean's personality to always blame himself no matter what, even if the situation is torture in literal hell :(
Dean always makes me cry in this episode. This man will never forgive himself no matter what anyone tells him even though we all understand that there's only so long you can stay strong before your, body, mind and soul breaks.
I think Davion was 100% right about angles essentially being Gods soldiers, kinda like lifeless robots but then i think Dean is the same way, John forced him to grow up way too early and care for sam like in the christmas episode and he was forced to become Johns 'yes man' to protect sam.
When Dean cries, everyone cries, or at least tear up, and if not that, feel everything he's going through since he's the one that usually buries his emotions. You can tell Jensen was feeling this deep in his soul and boy did he deliver. But this is my biggest problem with season 4. Aside from this emotional confession from Dean, his trauma was swept under the rug and it came off as if he returned from 40 years (4 months earth time) in hell perfectly fine just drinking a little more. Anyway, I loved the Titanic reference, Dean running his hand down the foggy window while he and Anna were getting it in, especially since Dean and Anna are like Jack and Rose. And Cameron, you're putting way too much faith in John 😂. He's a great hunter, but all he would've done was get himself killed or sacrificed himself...again. There's no way he's stopping the plans that heaven and hell have for Sam and Dean.
It's still so hard to watch the scene of Dean telling Sam about his trauma. Like damn, how is his actor just so good at showing the impact on his character so well?? I also noticed a little later that Dean doesn't start actually crying untill he talks about how he was torturing the souls in hell, man thought less about himself being tortured. Man my feelings.
I love how you can see Nathan bracing himself for the feelz/tears, both for himself about to be emotional and also expecting the inevitable breakage of Davion’s heart. Cute.
First of all, you boys are looking fly! This is probably the most emotional episode besides like the series finale. Jensen Ackles said that he never intended for that end scene to get so emotional but his body didn't get the memo. Which in turn made everyone else on set emotional, including Jared Padalecki. Angels in this show are literally described as unfeeling, emotionless dicks so they are not fan favorites to say the least. Great reaction guys!💜
You have no idea how badly I've been waiting for this episode. I just knew Davion's reaction would be what it was when Dean told Sam what happened in hell.
It was the stunned moment of silence when the episode ended for me, then the truest statement ever “Dean has it the worst” 😂 Dean is, always, forever will be the most complex character I’ve ever seen……and always my favorite.
That last scene will stay with you. When you think of SPN you’ll think of many episodes, scenes, characters and moments. That is one of those moments! Jensen is a damn good actor. These two men were in every episode for 15 years, they worked 9 months a year and would fly home late Friday nights and return Sunday nights. How many shows have only two main characters and make such a great show for 15 years. I’ve always wondered how much cumulative screen time they have.
So if you think about it, Dean was tortured the entire length of his life, He was roughly 29 when he went to hell, tack 30 years of torture on to that, then 10 years of torturing, Deans basically 69 years old from season 4 onwards
@@JohnWinchester3567 the God/John parallel is present _throughout_ the show, and is downright explicit from s4-15 There's another scene where Dean says something like "I'm an expert on deadbeat dads" when he's talking about God in s5 His talk with Anna is about how Dean _also_ had to have blind faith & unquestioningly follow orders from a "God" he couldn't see (because John abandoned him & Sam for weeks at a time)
A little fact about this episode. Jensen couldn't stop crying after they yelled cut so he had to walk down the road and calm down, he said Jared came after him and just told him "great scene man" and let him get himself together. Truly brothers.
I know you’ve guys have gotten this a lot but y’all really should check out the gag reels I feel as if y’all would enjoy them and theyre just funny as hell

Their reactions at the end... I love this episode, one the trickery of the plan I love when shows make you go oh no... oh wait! They had a plan! Also Anna and Dean's dynamic is wonderful. Anna is awesome.
Can you guys do a compilation video of Davions face after every introduction by Nathan? His WTF look in his face is awesome 🤣 You can literally see him dying inside. And btw: You remember episode 6 with the ghost sickness? Dean hallucinated about Lilith. He asked her why me (why he was sick and not Sam) and she said "you know why" and that he had "so much fun there". He got sick because of his behaviour in hell. Great foreshadowing.
While the body Ruby is possessing is essentially brain dead (or was it a coma?) the physical body isn’t actually dead. Plus she was a Jane Doe so no one knows her history or family. This way Ruby can possess her without overtaking her free will and all that.
@@mettesrensen6116 But the body still functioned. She was on life support and they were about to pull the plug when Ruby possessed her. She was brain dead the criteria for death but the body still lived.

great reaction! This one was a real tear jerker. When Dean cries... it's wet eyes all around - including the crew on set. Can't wait for the next one.. it's gonna creep y'all out.
The worst part of hell was not the first 30 years. It was the part with torturing other souls. I bet if all 40 years Dean was suffered himself, he came back not so damaged and traumatized. The worst part is the quilt, of that he can never forget himself. Plus his decision to take a weapon in hell against other souls bring another horrified thing, of which he and audience will know later. So another time no forgiveness for himself from Dean perspective. And all that weight is always on his shoulder
Y’all need to watch panels and behind the scenes footage, even if you don’t do it on the channel. Jensen talking about that final scene just shows how talented they are and how much they care about the characters.

From the angels and the demons, to a backstory with Dean and Alastair in Hell, to Sam and Dean being caught smack in the middle of all this drama, this episode was nuts.
