i am from jammu and i must say jammuites are paying for their nationalism. IRONY IS THROUGHOUT HISTORY OF INDIA (even before1947) THE NATIONALIST AND MORAL PEOPLES ARE IGNORED whereas ANTI SOCIAL AND SEPARATIST ARE REWARDED OR PLEASED.
Ignored in what sense? Development?

Jammuites have been ignored for so long as if it dies not exist.
@@prashanth7097 ignored in sense that we pay taxes and proceeds from that taxes are not spent on jammu, instead those taxes are used to give freebies to kashmir (electricity) and development in kashmir. Also central assistance is also spent mostly on kashmir. ALL WE WANT IS OUR REGION EQUAL SHARE IN DIVISIVE POOL OF FUNDS.
That is the reason NC will win in kashmir because now a days under BJP everyone have to pay electricity bills and kashmiri is unwilling to do that because they have always benefitted from conflicts getting easily and free from all sides (india, pakistan. Jammu). You know what the habit of eating for free (of kashmiri) cant be changed in 5 years into input/tax based economy.

This is an excellent podcast for anyone who wants to fully understand Jammu. Every word spoken by Manu, along with the insights shared by Sunanda , reflects the sentiments of every Jammu Dogra, who have long awaited their rightful recognition,a wait that unfortunately seems never-ending.
Manu beautifully highlights the contributions of Maharaja Hari Singh ji and sheds light on the legacy of Brigadier Rajinder Singh,the saviour of Kashmir but they too have not got the share of appreciation they truly deserves.
The discussion on Jammu becoming a separate state, with the ability to make its own decisions and take responsibility for its future, is a crucial point that would allow the Dogras to stand out as an independent entity.

Both speakers have aptly addressed the longstanding issues faced by the Dogras. I am from jnk and want to say that BJP removed 370 was a spectacular job but later on, they failed to heal jnk people specially Jammu nationalist people.. People of Jammu are feeling cheated bcoz of LG miss governance and center free hand to him and Beaurocrats..
They lost the public connection and implemented Tughlaq farmans.. We love BJP, Modi but they did wrong with us, I hope they will learn lesson from this debacle of loosing election badly.. Jai hind

Jammu region is ignored since 1947, not only by the central government but also by the national media, the reason why everybody all across India prefers to refer this erstwhile state as Kashmir instead of Jammu & Kashmir, which is absolutely wrong.
One can very well understand the reason behind it, as every one is so fascinated by the word Kashmir in every section of the Indian society all across the country that, it hardly matters whether the Jammu region is mentioned or not, despite the fact that Jammu & Kashmir became one unit as a State only because of the contribution made by the people of Jammu region and specially by the Dogra rulers & not by Kashmir's.
There's a typical mindset which has developed over the years in the Indian administration that nationalist Dogras can be taken for granted, whereas it is more important to keep the Kashmiris in good humour so that they remain in favour of India and literally ignored the Jammu region, by disempowering them politically, administratively, economically, at the cost of separatist's dominated society of Kashmir.
Even in this podcast, Sunanda is referring to the erstwhile Doda region as 'Chinab Valley', a phrase coined only few years back to create an impression as if this area is not a part of Jammu, but a different region with a distinctive identity, dialect & culture, as there is a nefarious design going on for quite some time to further divide Jammu region into three different sub-regions as Chinab Valley region, Pir Panchal region (comprising Rajouri & Poonch Districts) and the remaining part of Jammu province as Jammu region.
Kushal, I’ve been following this since the last few videos when you took this issue up, I completely agree with your view here, I myself am a part Kashmiri Pandit from my grandmother’s side.
I tried finding a map of Jammu but I couldn’t. All the maps I find are either Jammu and Kashmir or have Laddakh in them.
This is a bigger issue here. If there aren’t any public maps, how do you expect the government to do much about the issue.
On a separate note, could you share a map which shows what part is Jammu in the Jammu and Kashmir region?

This debate about Jammu about is just ridiculous. Yar everybody knows Jammu people are with india and are nationalists, problem is in Kashmir obviously govt will be trying to correct that region. If we again separate Jammu and Kashmir as different entities then kashmiri muslims will have a easy decision to seperate from india. It's so easy to understand
There have been 100s of representations in support of separate state of Jammu, increasing seats, or abolishing fudged census. Even the delimitation commision was protested upon even by local BJP. Congress led interlocutors too were given representation. Delhi put it into dustbin.

Dogra people of Jammu region are very loyal to Bharat. This is a big narrative failure of Bharat that every media, political parties keep suppressing Jammu and appease Kashmir. Jammu should be made a state and Kashmir a UT.

J&K is a kashmiri majority state. Only 4 districts are the majority hindu where dogras live. We should think of merging the whole Chenab valley to kashmir because of its demography.

So information about the Jammu region, its geography, topography and mapping are not available online and should be. Information about languages, leaders, prominent figures, history of it are also sparse online.

I hear ya, this was a catty discussion. I wish it was divided into topics and stayed focused on the problem and their solutions. It would have been great if a reference map was shown of the area. Sunanda could talk about Kashmir and M about Jammu. Far too much ranting and raving, not enough substance. Oh well. Kushalji I wish would learn how to frame a question. Anecdotes, context, caveats, disclaimers - those are separate so say those first then your question. And the guests, if Jammu can’t be separated to be its own entity and you have been told this for time immemorial. By who? Just one example of a subject not clearly defined.

There was a decriminalization of people of Jammu since 1947.
A gruop of Hindu and Sikh shopkeepers from MirPur went to meet Nehru before the "Qabaili" attack of October 22, 1947.
And requested Nehru to send army for their protection but Nehru said ..go and talk to Sheikh Abdullah.
But both Abdullah and Nehru ignored the request as a result all Hindus and Sikhs of Mir Pur and Muzaffarabad and Kotli ....were killed or migrated after the attack of pak army and Qabaili attack....on October, 22 1947..
Then second time when Indian Army was winning and reached in Jammu region by pushing ..Qabilis back ..
Sheikh Abdullah requested to Nehru to do ceasefire and stop Indian army from further progression.
Abdulah said " these people are not from us they are more aligned with Pehari ..and Punjabi cultures.
