My wifi setup doesn't make it past the QR code. It'll search for wifi but then say "try moving your doorbell closer " over and over and over again... even tho the doorbell is sitting next to my phone or directly on top of it. Never even gets to the wifi settings. My doorbell camera was perfectly fine before I got a new fios cord. Everything else connected but my doorbell. That's the camera I need the most...smh
Hi Jill! Super thankful for you stopping by and providing that feedback because it''s comments like that that I hope to see because that's why I make these videos. I'm so glad to be of service to you and help out. Thank you!
brand new nest doorbell battery yesterday nov 2022. worked at work. get it home, wont connect. keeps saying try moving closer to your nest doorbell. so frustrating. reset everything...
My nest camera says cannot connect try moving closer... But I have my TV on my cell on wifi and other cameras and another Nest camera already connected. Won't allow me to add on more cameras have tried many times!!
Thanks for the help simple to understand with your directions. I am subscribed to the google cloud if I buy a Google camera will it be covered under the same subscription.
Hello, I have gone through all of these steps for the past 3 days. I will get as far as the “plug in your device” step and it will try to “connect” but it never makes it to the “looking for Wi-Fi” step. After it tries for about 3 minutes or so, it then tries to “connect to other devices (or something like that)” then I get the dreaded message “Something is wrong….” The device is wired to my existing doorbell and has worked just fine since I had it installed in May. The only reason I removed it to reinstall it is because it just suddenly went offline and never came back online. All other wi-if devices in my house work fine. I even tried the reset button. SOS!!! Any help you can provide, I’d be so grateful!
Thanks for the information. I changed my wifi password and tried to reconnect my doorbell based on information the home app, Google, and an ADT tech service gave me was not helpful at all. Found your video after watching several others and was easy. Other resources left out the part where the restart button needed to be press and held down. Now I need to help with connecting my outdoor ADT cameras. Sound like I have to get on a latter and press a button on the back of the cameras wish there was an easier way to just update Wi-Fi passwords in the apps.
Hi Glenda, Sorry for the late response, but I wanted to answer this as it may help someone else. The factory reset removes it from your network, so you'll want to go into the Google Home app and add is as though it's a new device again which requires connecting it to your network again. 🙂
Hi 888, Very glad to have you stop by and give that feedback. It's great to see this comment because I know the content is going in the correct direction of helping others. Thank you!
Mine won't even let me choose doorbell. It just asked that I'm connected to Bluetooth and it keeps searching. Won't find or connect. Don't have the option to scan QR code either. Any tips would be greatly appreciated
Thank you so much! This video was very very easy to follow and helped me resolve my problem… I even called for Google assistance / customer service for my doorbell and floodlights (due to my new router)… and was told something was wrong with my device 😬
Hi George, Thanks for your feedback! I'm glad to hear the information was clear because these videos can be challenging. Appreciate you and God bless! 🫡
Hey there I appreciate you sooooooooooo much, you help me more the “SO CALL CSR TECHS that get paid to help their customers, you got me setup in ten minutes, THANK YOU!!!!
Having the same issue on my side. New WIFI network, factory reset the doorbell. Worked for 2 days then went offline. Cant seem to discover it now when trying to set it up again
My doorbell still indicates that it is inactive but I don't know what to do anymore... do you have any tips on how to get the doorbell active again? I can still see who is in front of it and what is happening in front of my door
Hi Andrea, Great question! There is a tool that comes in the kit to quickly remove the doorbell. It works really well, but you can also use a very thin flathead screwdriver as well to remove it. :)
This might help. First, you may already tried this, but see if you can change the angle or position of the doorbell. If you have someone who can stand outside, have them place it on the wall differently and see if the audio improves. I did check the settings for the doorbell in the home app, and it looks like you can only change the volume of your voice under Audio. So this might help solve the problem a little, but I did not see an option on changing the volume for people speaking into the doorbell unfortunately. I would try the reset as a last ditch effort. 🙂
@Pixels Cracked okay thank you I'll try moving it, weird though as sound seems to work fine through the hub2, just the home app is where it struggles so I assumed perhaps the pairing went wrong somewhere. All audio is set to full and no issues with phone speaker. I'll give this a go! Thank you so much for replying I appreciate your time
It worked! Thank you so much for your videos!

Thank you!!!!! I was in anguish over here. I had to press the paperclip a little harder than I was originally doing. Whew. Crisis averted.

Glad to help Tremele and I agree with the frustrations of having to reset WiFi passwords as I've done this several times myself. 🫤
After the factory reset, it will not connect to my wi-fi any ideas to fix this?
Hi Glenda,

The factory reset removes it from your network, so you'll want to go into the Google Home app and add is as though it's a new device again which requires connecting it to your network again. 🙂

Probably dead and needed to charge first

Mines won’t power up
It could take a bit of time if it's completely dead. Have you been able to get it up and running?

Thanks

Hi sir. I'm having issues hearing people and talking to people through the Google home app. Would a factory reset be a good step for me? Thank you
