  • The shoals southeast of Nantucket are known for producing giant summer flounder. Fishermen travel to the Shoals from throughout the Northeast to try and catch their biggest fluke.
    In this episode, Jimmy Fee, Chris Megan, and Anthony DeiCicchi depart Falmouth Harbor on the hunt for doormats with bucktail jigs and scented artificials with the goal of catching a new personal best.

    Now at 5:10am before I leave to work in a few, I’m getting fluke fever and not something cool to have on your mind when your work drive is 1:30 minutes drive without traffic to the job site. Great Video Men and it was awesome to watch.

    Try metal jigs like Crippled Herring (Rapala/Luhr Jensen), and Kandlefish, (Tall Pines Tackle) for even better catches.

      Lip hook a live bait (finger mullet, snapper blue, etc.) to your jig head and hang on. That combo landed my personal best of 11.5 lbs.

    • @OnTheWaterMedia
      @OnTheWaterMedia  2 года назад

      We had the full line from the 100 to the 450 out there, and the 350 and the 450 were much better suited for that deep water fluke fishing, with the 450 being the best.

      I know! "Beat them back to the bottom." I was too distraught, and had fought the fish for so long, I just ripped it to the surface.

      Hey Kristopher - that's the Plano Edge Jig. It's designed for largemouth bass jigs, but it fit the some of the fluke jigs, especially the smaller teasers for the chicken rigs, pretty well.

    If you’ve fought enough and lost some too ; u understand this. 😂 I’ve dropped a couple nice ones half way up or better and I knew the hook set was sus. It happens

    you can call me a virtue signaling couch fisherman all you want but theres no reason to keep a female fish that size. From personal experience I can tell you that releasing my PB fluke at just over 11lbs still sits with me well after 5 years and I'm so happy I didnt keep her for her cheeks. Lead by example OTW, you have a large following and make excellent videos.

      If I want to keep a couple of fish for the table, I’m going to and you can say whatever you want to if doing that was causing problems with the numbers of fish that were out there then they would stop it just because you don’t want to keep it a fish to eat doesn’t mean somebody else can that doesn’t mean I have to keep a whole limit
