The Dallas skyline was always one of my favorite views, especially at night, but what made this video memorable to me was when you travelled down I-30 east from the I-30/I-45 interchange on (where it becomes the R.L. Thorton Freeway). That was the exact route we would take to visit family when they lived in east Dallas. When you drove under the overpasses for Jim Miller Rd. and St. Francis Ave., I started having happy flashbacks, as these were the exits we took to get to my aunt and uncle's house. Thanks for sharing and helping me to remember my childhood.
I truly enjoy these videos of yours, not only do I get to see places I haven't visited(and a few I have in new ways) but they've also helped broadened my taste in music. Keep it up!
Good stuff of Dallas! Great skyline and the marvels of both the High Five and the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge! Definitely something I want to check out in the future!
I’ve been to the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge and when you crossed the Tom Landry Freeway it was rebuilt into the Margaret McDermott Bridge with two white arches on the side of the new wide highway witch was completed in 2016
Nice ride through Dallas- love how modern they made US 75 compared to how it looked when they would film scenes for Dallas at one of the near-by towers. Plus, the High-Five never ceases to amaze me!
That sky was perfect for filming that drive. Beautiful. Jim I love your channel....I was just waking up listening to a song on youtube. I check out the right side and see one of your videos and I thought "interesting...Ive always wanted to check other places out. Ive been to many states but didnt get to see the beautiful rides like this.
The Bay Area one got me all excited because I grew up there and I finally get to move back home and see all my friends. So glad I found your channel. Keep doing your thing!
the high five seems to be the most filmed highway thing in texas, it seems every time one films central or the 635 the high five is part of the video (not that it's annoying, it's actually fun since central is my favourite freeway that I've been to)
Dallas is building so fast that there are already highrises missing in this 2014 video..including the Richards Group HQ across from Cityplace at 4:00...And Uptown has cranes up all over the fking place.
Nice to see a U.S. classic shield route (75 and 80) in a freeway mode. It's a Federal route, yet a lot of old routes have been turned into Eisenhower System shields for some reason.
i would love seeing something like that bridge built for 285/75 where it crosses the chattahoochee - for 75 especially, it's pretty wide because of the island splitting the river in two where the freeway crosses. would help bring more attention to what is basically our riverfront.
Amazing ride, loved of course the "high five" and the views of Dallas! Concerning the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, it's very spectacular, and, a interesting think, Santiago Calatrava has designed a similar bridge in Italy above the A1 and the high speed train line (in one of my future videos). Good job, as usual!
Thank you! They are going to build another Calatrava bridge within the next five years on I-30 entering the city where the 2nd part of the video starts.
Jim I'm trying yo find thr Dallas video where a plumber van almost merges into and you paused the footage so evrryone could see the phone# do you remember which Dallas vid it was?
Video 16-40 at 8:57. ruclips.net/video/a54EorxKocA/видео.html. I Paused it so people could see how close it was, not for people to see his phone #, I never called it, it's a non-issue.
Yeah I heard over 100,000 people were killed and 2 billion people were left without homes oh my goodness!!! I wish someone would tell me what a mega tornado is I have never seen one and I’ve lived here for more than 40 years
The following lyrical line(from one of Whitesnake's songs, "Here I Go Again"): "Going down the only road I've ever known.", would be a very nice line and whole song for a future video. ;)
I do agree The Canyon could use a makeover and then some; but it's a classic road and the costs and congestion would be outrageous. Hopefully, if the Rangers get a new stadium or if Texas starts allowing casinos, the Transportation Department might be inspired to rebuild.
There is already a plan in place to fix that area I just found out, construction starts next year and will last 4 years. Just Google Dallas Horseshoe Highway Project for details

Thanks, I can't "Change" songs like that, plus, I used "Working Man" in a Philadelphia video last year, it would have been too long for this footage anyway.
+Christopher Jackson Better how? My dad lives north of ATL. I like ATL. Both cities feel similar. But Dallas is denser and has more of a big city feel.
+Tymisha Erving Yo, that's the whole point of the song being in sync with the footage, that's how I make my videos, you might be the only person who's ever complained about that in 8+ years of making these videos, lol.

I truly enjoy these videos of yours, not only do I get to see places I haven't visited(and a few I have in new ways) but they've also helped broadened my taste in music. Keep it up!
Thank you, I am VERY happy to know that.
Love this video, the place, the music (love the tunes), the editing! Love the Hunt Hill bridge and the Dallas skyline! Wonderful!!
Thank you very much!
Your videos have helped me navigate Dallas. Most of the time, I choose Freewayjim over GPS
LOL, thank you!
Good stuff of Dallas! Great skyline and the marvels of both the High Five and the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge! Definitely something I want to check out in the future!
Thanks, you'd enjoy exploring Dallas, I'm sure.
Great ride as always. Even the old Texas stacks are impressive!
Thanks, and yes they are!
These videos make me appreciate Dallas more and more as I drive through it every day.
1:02 definitely one heck of an interchange. Amazing.
That's called "high five" where Lyndon B Johnson freeway (I -635) and Central Expressway (US - 75) meet
It's the largest interchange in the world
And here I thought the I-25/I-40 interchange of Albuquerque was very impressive. The one in Dallas(the "High Five") takes the cake. :-)
Nice as always Jim. Dallas has an impressive skyline. Bigger than I woulda thought.
Thank you!
I’ve been to the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge and when you crossed the Tom Landry Freeway it was rebuilt into the Margaret McDermott Bridge with two white arches on the side of the new wide highway witch was completed in 2016

Thanks, yeah US-75 is quite a road for sure.
Another excellent job - have never heard either of those cuts
before. I was in Dallas in 1984 and man has it changed from what I am seeing.
Thanks, that's saying something when I use one you've never heard.
"Digital Soda", lmao love it xD
I wanna move to Dallas someday.... hopefully.
Thanks!

Great songs collection here !
Thank you
I mean "selection" !
Thanks for the great Canadian music! Great drive!

+Danny1022 Well it is the biggest stack interchange in the country afaik, so that'd be weird if they didn't :p
Also there is a new building that was completed this year(2020) called ALMI Fountain Place
Dallas is building so fast that there are already highrises missing in this 2014 video..including the Richards Group HQ across from Cityplace at 4:00...And Uptown has cranes up all over the fking place.
+ConfirmCLM. When was the last time you were downtown? Cranes up all over.
JasnoGT yea when I had to go to Texas this summer this was the only place I liked it looked like home -the 🌲s and it was so nice 😋
Impressive production on an impressive network of freeways.
Thank you!
Great video as always
Thanks Brandon!
yolo and ummm i forgot

The Canyon and that whole area IS undergoing a renovation as part of the Horseshoe Project.

freeway jim, which do you like better -- dallas freeways or houston freeways?? any preference?
They are both great, coinflip.
It's really sad that Dallas could be hit by a mega tornado in the future. Dallas is a really good city, but it's definitely prone to tornadoes.
The one on 12/26/15 was pretty mega. Lots of fatalities and huge destruction on the northeast side of the metro.
Yeah I heard over 100,000 people were killed and 2 billion people were left without homes oh my goodness!!! I wish someone would tell me what a mega tornado is I have never seen one and I’ve lived here for more than 40 years

It's a nice line for sure but as a song, there are many, many better options, but thanks anyway.
awesome videos
Thank you!
Awesome video and track! I have Signals on vinyl(I am not THAT old, btw, 28 next week)
Thank you, I think Signals is a great listen, even more impressed that someone your age has it :)
Freewayjim Saw RUSH live in 2010 here in Chicago!
nice job like always by the way dallas and houston got the most impressive freeways in the us just behind the L.A cal freeways i guess
Thanks!
I have RUSH "Signals" CD that has a song "Digital Man"!!

In 2007, you filmed this location: US-75 South to I-635 South?
?

Thanks, I can't "Change" songs like that, plus, I used "Working Man" in a Philadelphia video last year, it would have been too long for this footage anyway.
You in the taxes
dnt think its better than atlanta mi cityyy
+Christopher Jackson Better how? My dad lives north of ATL. I like ATL. Both cities feel similar. But Dallas is denser and has more of a big city feel.
+JasnoGT How would you compare Dallas' nightlife to Atlanta's?
@@Rhinosaurus1000 DALLAS IS A BIGGER METRO MORE NIGHTLIFE PERIODT
yo freewayjim when you make your videos and when the song gets slower can yu not make the show go do slowere it gets on my nerves
