Wow, Earth, Wind, and Fire have definitely added a funkier touch to this tune. Phil Collin's live version is more rock n' roll. Apples and oranges. Both are great.
@@DenkyManner Watch the 90's version of this song live (album "Serious Hits!"). Phillip's solo singing is one of the most powerful singing I've ever seen.
I have been searching for a live version of phillip bailley singing easy lover for a really long time but every time i get phill collins versions(much respect to phil he is one of my favourite live musicians)but it was worth it. The guitarist did his best but daryl stuemer is like nothing i have witnessed.
Me encanta esta canción y la interpretación por parte de Philip Bailey, formo un grandioso dueto con Phil Collins hubiera sido magnifico que hubieran cantado mas canciones juntos... ese dueto se escucha fantástico. I love you Philip
totally agree it's "funky intense" just love it and can't stop listening and watching but what musician are playing for him? can you post if you know thanks
Zipora Linzer I believe that's the new earth wind and fire with a few of the old timers and the new talent that's keeping the music playing around the world still. Wow, 2 years since I posted that. Had to watch it again. Thanks for the comment and reminder of how great this band still is.
Thank you so very very much and yes they are timeless and I say pure, impecable perfection - I am spellbound. Greg B I also want to thank you for the music information - right to the point and with great knowledge
I Hope,i Wish forse myself forse all, ti see Phil and Philip together, and i'm feeling so excited forse this Song. Congratulazioni Philip and Phil. Grazie da Daniele, Italia 😍😊
The guitar solo was definitely burnin’ and fast, but he would slip a little, but dude managed to quickly regain control and found his way home🎶! He showed some interesting styles of playing, I heard some Hendrix/Buddy Guy style blues, Eddie Van Halen tapping, Eric Clapton, Ernie Isley, maybe Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck and dive bombed with the whammy bar! He cooked!
Y'all do know this is PHILIP BAILEY's song NOT Phil Collins' right? This song is off of Philip Bailey's CHINESE WALL album from 1985 (I believe)...back when the original Earth, Wind and Fire went on hiatus.
actually it's Phillip's, Phil's and Nathan East's............the three of them wrote it.......Collins also plays it live which he couldn't if only Bailey wrote it....
John Mongani Even if Collins didn't write it, how would that prohibit him from playing it live? It'd be a cover under those circumstances, and there's no "law" against playing covers live.
RazrHack uh yeah there is....it's called copyright infringement.......technically anyone who plays a cover of someone else's tune can be sued by the artist......it just rarely ever happens.
Ralph Johnson - electronic drums Robert Brookins - keyboards and vocals Sheldon Reynolds - guitar Morris Pleasure - bass (I think) I didn't get a good look at the drummer but it could be Sonny Emory
Be good if the guitarist learned the song beforehand - that’s a masterclass of one person ruining what would otherwise be potentially legendary performance. Honestly be better with no lead guitar at all!

Best comment ever.
This great great song would not have hit that 80's peak high without Bailey's rich voice.
Nah. It's a Phil Collins song through and through at the peak of his monster hits
@@DenkyManner Watch the 90's version of this song live (album "Serious Hits!"). Phillip's solo singing is one of the most powerful singing I've ever seen.
or Collin's rich voice. Without a team up, no harmony.
Bailey's falsetto make's this song. Thanks for sharing!

The guitarist is Sheldon Reynolds, who played with EWF from the 90's through early 2000's. Dude can shred!
@@bobsyeruncle1469 And he passed away a few days ago; May 23rd.
The Late Great Robert Brookins is sharing the vocal spot with Philip on this live version. 👍🏼Rest In Heavenly Peace, Robert. 🙏🏼
nobody can play like daryl stuermer
right
Terrific performance! Outstanding vocals!
The single well placed slapped bass note is still the coolest sound in music. 1:29
Couldn't agree more...great to see someone else is hearing these things lol
I agree that the sound is great but.. it is not a slapped note - it is a popped note @ 1:29.

I thought it was Phil's song thirty years ago but now I'm sure it was Philip's song.
It's both of theirs...but on PB's album.
Qué versión tan maravillosa.
EW&F didn't do this one at Mystic Lake on Thursday night, so thank you!
The 80's were important for tambourine players.
Best song ever
Great song!
Philip deserves to sing this song live, because it's HIS song, damnit!!!
Philip,
What was in your WEATIES? The whole band must've eaten together - what was up?
WILD - love it!

Os dois cantando juntos é uma combinação única!!!
At the beginning, it lists the song and composer credits, given as: P. Bailey/P. Collins/N. East.
yes that's right and it does so in wiki but what band is that they are just oustanding and very funky
That's because it's originally a Bailey Collins project!!
@@KiddSkunkadelic Indeed.
I love you Philip :)
me too - he's just on of the best male vocalist and performers ever and I guess songwriter as well. Just everything music
I love him too.
lindoooooo Philip, bravo
Awesome!
When the black men do melodic music.....I miss that time
Clean or not I love you Philip Bailey!

John Mongani Phil produced the album of Philip , I guess this is another point in his favor of Phil , besides, the song is also Phil's single..
phil also wrote the song.
great song! where is Phil Collins? have they ever performed this song live together!?!
yes - you have to put it in the search box
They originally recorded it together!!
TAKE BACK WHATS YOURS PHILLIP
ผมชอบเพลงนี้มากครับ
Sick song

Better than Collin's version. I love this song!!! Somebody knows the name of this show?
Let me share.
@Vitico222 Phil Collings and Philip Bayle. LOL
I love You
who are these musicians - it says EW @ F are on hiatus? Does anybody know
