I love it when there's a mystery within a mystery like there is the main mystery plot and then there's like a side mystery that keeps you entertained while trying to solve the main mystery
I also love it when the sleuth have sidekicks or have friends who help the sleuth solve or work through the mystery. I also love it when it comes time for the sleuth to reveal who did, it the cops are waiting to jump in once the murderer confesses to the crime
Hi Courtny. I loved this video! My favorite trope is definitely a cozy companion that is a true character in the story with real personality. I agree with you, I love the wonderful covers in cozies. They are full of fun and grab me from the beginning 😊📖📚
I loooove the trope of library, old books ownership or old/antique house inside the book somewhere :) haha those are my favorite and also intelligent woman! nothing turns me off more than to have to yell to the book when the main character is doing something stupid and is obvious something bad is about to happen.
I couldn't agree more! I love it when there are books involved! I have a weakness for library and bookshop owners as well! When they reference other books that I've read, I love it!
I love magic in cozies. With Amanda Flowers’s Magical Bookshop I love that the magic of books-the books find the right owner and help Violet piece together who committed the murder
I love a cozy mystery with a fun title and a great cover both just make me want to read the book. Any book with furry friends who are truly characters themselves is a plus.
Haha. Very true! She loved it more when I was in the living room and she could jump on the bookshelves. I throw her off being in the office now. Haha. She prefers to sleep in the papason chair while I film now. She graced me with her presence for this video. 😜🤣
Loved this! I agree so much with using common sense and as someone else mentioned, using the buddy system. I adore the pun-y titles for cozies. I’ve read a ton of cozies at this point and one thing that drives me nuts is how many of them have love triangles. Can’t we just watch one couple develop a relationship without an ex trying to butt in?
Oh Yeah!!!!! Cats and dogs all the way. I absolutely adore Owen and Hercules. I also adore Cleo. I have one kitty right now,but we would like to add more to our family.
Always use a buddy system!!! I very much know how to fight and defend myself, but the first thing they teach you in martial arts is to run away if possible! I would NOT be confronting a murderer alone! 😱 Oooo... the magic! The haunted yarnshop series has just a pinch of magic. Example: the person needs confidence for an interview, they.... Idk how to explain it, add the confidence needed so they have it when they wear the sweater? YAS! I love it when its a good twist that catches me off guard. I got my mom into cozies now and she messages me almost daily if she guessed the whodunit or not. 😂😍 and I also prefer the pun titles!!!
Yas!!!! I couldn’t agree more! There is just something fantastic about the magic feeling real or possible in a series! I just love it! I’m so happy your mom is loving cozies so much too!!!!
I love when the victim is despised too especially if it’s known that they didn’t get along with the protagonist because then the person solving the crime is like the prime suspect!
I completely cover buy cozies! The Port Danby series and The Literary Pub Mystery series sucked me and and Bonus, they’re good! I actually like when the victim isn’t despised. It just feels so different when it happens in cozies, but hated ones are fun too!
Initially it was the covers and pun intended titles that got me into reading cozies. I agree, I cant stand a hard-headed sleuth who just goes off and investigates on their own after being told not to...finds themselves in a dangerous situation.... gets frightened....then out investigating alone again.

I agree with all of these! I don’t really like love triangles or a protagonist who’s too unsure of herself.
I have to add that I still 100% read cozies with those elements and enjoy them, as long as there are other elements I love in them.
I couldn't agree more! I can't wait to see what you all think about my video next week!
LOVE the punny titles! They are so much fun. ❤️
Seriously! They get me in my funny bone everytime!

It is always great when the magic helps others as well as helps our protagonist figure out the whodunit!

I couldn’t agree more Gretchen!!!!
Great idea for a series! Looking forward to the next ones. Yes, the titles are the best!
Thank you Rebekah! I thought it would be fun to really dive deeper into Cozies! I’m so glad you liked it!
Awe hello Cleo pretty kitty cat. Awesome video. Congrats on the new little one coming very soon ☺️🥰
Thank you!!! We are so excited!! 🤗
It wouldn’t be a Courtagonist video without a Cleo appearance💓💓

Love the paint color? What color is it?
It’s called Stone Grey by Sherwin-Williams. It’s like a blue grey.

Right?! I find that I love the sleuth even more when they have a cozy companion!!!

I need to look up the Literary Pub Mystery series if the covers pulled you in!!
You need to check out Sarah Graves- Home Repair is Homicide series! Dead Cat Bounce is the first book!
Yes ma’am!!! I have put it on my list now!! Thank you!

Right?! It’s likes she doesn’t learn from her mistakes!!!
