Gotta say, one very underrated thing about this film is the style for the backgrounds. Excellent color palettes, great stylization and warping/exaggeration of perspective and objects for effect, and a mixture of watercolors, chalk, and graphite pencilwork to give everything texture and form.
Dan Bluth was competing with Disney. No wonder the movie is so proffessional. Btw Dan was tired with lack of care in animation so he decided to make his own studio and he indeed was more successful

To tell the truth- Ernest Borgnine did a great job and a much better job on providing the voice of Carface Carruthers because he had the right attitude to do the voice of him in this film, the TV series and the Christmas special while Vic Tayback had the wrong attitude to do the voice of him in the 1st film.
