I lack the vocabulary to explain how seeing this makes me feel. Chris’ music and especially this song has been such an important part of my life for many years.
Chris died March 9th 2005 & on March 13th 2005 I was severely injured in a bull riding accident that ended my non-illustrious rodeo career, that was a bad week to say the least.
To see this song come to life in this video the way it has been done is so much better than I ever could have imagined.
To see Ned in this video is such a blessing to my heart, and the man that plays the main character and the bikers did an outstanding job.
Seeing this brought tears to my eyes.
Thank you to everyone who had a hand in bringing my all time favorite song to life in a way that highly honors the musical hero of myself and countless others. Seeing is a tremendous blessing to me.

This is the best rendition of this song. This video is the most accurate portrait of the story. I am a city boy, my parents were appilation country folk. I'm a veteran, construction worker, I've worked in factories, the only thing I have not been is in the food service industry. Never been a biker, what they started out as I would have loved, what they became I don't want to be.
Freedom of the road, freedom of the open range, are the flip side of the same coin. It is the truest form of true American freedom.

I have just barely heard this song for the first time last night. Immediately able to notice that Chris is a true Cowboy who makes true Country Music, the old honky tonk stuff my Dad rode to. Loved the song, a throwback to Waylon Jennings and the Highway Men (my Dad was best friends with Johnny Cash's 1st cousin by the way). So today this new music video drops and I click it, only to be shocked to read in the comments that Chris LeDoux is dead??! How truly sad.. I just learned about him yesterday and he was already a brother..
My Dad's dead too. We'll see them in the resurrection that the Bible talks about in Acts 24:15, if we live good enough to make there ourselves.. tip my hat to you LeBoux.. you made a classic song. Thanks bud, won't forget you.

You will never be good enough to get to heaven buddy. The Bible says for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, but John 14:6 tells us about the Way to get there and that is through the work that Jesus did on the cross for us. Jesus said if we don’t repent we will all perish but we must believe in our hearts and confess with our mouth that He is Lord and then we will be saved. Hope this message finds its way to you.

Thank you Ned for continuing your father’s legacy. Although I never got to meet him in person, I have spoken to him on the phone and he did take a pinch from a can of Cope I tossed up on the stage. My aunt rode with him back at CU and her best friend is Lynn Harlan. I’ve been listening to his music for 50 years and to my aunt’s stories about Peggy, Donny Mape, Gary Lohse, John Ed and the rest. More than any man (short of Jesus) your father, through his music, taught me what real manhood means. Thanks again.

Saw Chris perform at our county fair on a small stage in 1999, that you didn’t have to pay to see. He performed like he was at a sold out arena. Pyrotechnics, mechanical bull, jumping around like he was a kid! Fantastic performer!

Some say Kris can’t sing but he delivers from the writer’s perspective so you get the pace, feeling & emotion. He’s written so many songs for so many artists. He’s a master & a maestro.

I can't really find the words to describe what Chris LeDoux and his songs mean to me. Coming from Wyoming, I of course grew up to his music. He's such a huge part of our state culture. But it's so much more than that to me. My grandfather loved Chris LeDoux. And I didn't get the opportunity to really connect with my grandfather due to choices he made. But one of the few things we could connect through was Chris LeDoux's music. His cover of "God must be a cowboy" was played at my grandfather's memorial in February. Whenever I hear Chris LeDoux, I think of my grandfather, and am so thankful that I can at least have that memory with my grandfathers.
My dad also met Chris LeDoux twice. Once in the mid 70s when he was a kid, and then again when he was an adult in the mid 90s. Both times, Chris LeDoux said the same thing to him. My dad figures that LeDoux must have recognized him all those years later.

Years ago, Chris came to the Black Hills of South Dakota, I was living there at the time and I got to see his show when he stopped in Keystone. It was a great display of Western Cowboy music! Glad I was able to be there! Chris LeDoux was the real deal....Kaycee's finest! Great man....Great song!
