The people who designed this thermostat are absolute lemons. It is ridiculously difficult to use. It should be designed to be user friendly but zero thought has been put into the needs of the actual customers. I've had it years and frequently have to come back to this video for help. A big thanks to this man for his help.

WOW MANY MANY THANKS, ive had this exact looking, and number model since july 2015, always had to get the gas fitter to sort it on mostly the boilers yearly service, thank the STARS for your very informative Video, however no matter how many times i tried i could not get it to flip to Sat-Sun settings as you did i had to set each day at a time as well as Sat-Sun, don't know if because i set time for today Saturday, but was easy once understood and also many hints in the comments, To Answer those Comments from people who Want Manual Control Constantly, i personally have put the number 1 setting to come on at 6.00am at 14.5 degrees setting 2 off 6.10am at 14.0 degrees, setting 3 on at 6.20am at 14.5 degrees ( the thermostat is always in a room above these temperatures so never comes on giving me Manual control you may need to go lower temperatures and times if this applies to your setup) setting 4 on at 11.40pm at 14.5 degrees and setting 5 off at 11.40 pm at 14.0 degrees, hope this comment helps someone as the other comments certainly helped me, Thanks again to Content Creator. Ps would just like to Add as others have, Whoever designed this load of Testicles needs a thump round the earoles

However, this vid helps me understand at least how to change the settings. Jeepers why have things got to be so blinking complicated!! Your video is by far the best one I have seen on this stat. However, I still think after having this fitted when my new boiler was installed in June 2017 it is a load of rubbish. I had wanted a learning thermostat as in Nest 3rd Generation. I still don't think this is doing what I need, because when it is set up as you have shown if I go away for a weekend when I leave I turn the stat down to 14 C which it will do on that day but then it goes back to its own ways the next day. So you have to go with frost stat at 5C and have a cold house to come back to in a couple of days.

I hate this contraption. This video is the best explanation I have found which was 3 years ago. The central heating system was brand new when we moved in 8 years ago. We still haven't got used to the Salus operating gadget. We are sick of it...we are on to our second thermostat in 8 years and their not cheap either
As I am old school can you please tell me how much it would cost to convert to a traditional system i.e wall mounted, with turn on and off switch. Grateful for any advice.

I'm not sure if it helps anyone but you can usually change your thermostat. You don't have to stick with one that you can't use. Speak to a Gas Engineer if you want something easier to control. I was only told this today but it makes sense. The maker of the thermostat is not the same maker as my boiler (doh). This video on programming the Salus RT is brilliant, fair play, but it's still in pain in the arm to go through this rigmarole every time you want to change it.

Hi. I am looking for a bit of advice, we have Combi Boiler which is controlled by a Salus RT500RF Remote Thermostat, where you have to set 5 temperature times a day. The issue we are having is, as we have young baby we would like to keep the heating on a low temperature all the time. So for example, if we want to be at 20c throughout the night, we are setting the 5th time of the day at 20c and the first the following morning at 20c. The problem we are having is that if we drop below 20c, the boiler powers up and the heating comes on, when it reaches the required temperature it goes off again, as the temperature then drops below 20c, the boiler then powers up and the heating comes on again. This cycle keeps continuing and it continues to come on and off throughout the night to maintain that temperature. As the boiler is in a cupboard in the baby’s room it wakes him up every time it powers up. What we would like to do, is completely override the Remote Thermostat all together and just have our heating like one of the old fashioned wall dials so we can set it at a constant low temperature all the time. Just to add also, we cannot control the heat of our individual radiators, we do not have the 1-5 knobs, we can either have them on or off. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Every Monday morning around 2-3 am this piece of crap starts the radiators. I hate it.... Does anyone know how to fix this huge problem?
I emailed to Salus, many times but they don't even answer.

Press the reset with a pencil or pen with batteries in this takes you to factory settings take out batteries, then follow this video

Doreen Barnes-Faŕnham Hi have same thermo but the instructions on video can be applied. Can't understand why it is made so difficult all we want to do is on and off when we are in this should be readily available manually but it seems to assume we are all working, we are retired don't need all the functions. 😄
