I am not defending Destiny 2. I think it has gone downhill this past year but it probably feel like a fraction of the people are working on it because that is probably true, between layoffs and the bungie higher ups mismanaged staff and re allocating them on projects that were just gonna fail or just be closed instead of putting all hands on deck on their one money maker.
It's not even that, the art and sound direction are spectacular as usual and the sandbox feels great (outside of pvp) but in the story we've literally gone from being the bane of the devils, wolves, and salvation to being on our hands and knees begging Eramis to play nice bc Mithrax's daughter asked us to
@@icarusrising2787exactly They're acting like eramis is the only eliksni who knows riis' past As if there isn't THOUSANDS of ships and wrecks out there full of it We could go back to the devil's lair to find any tonic recipes, and boom, we see Fikrul there But nah Beg eramis The person who nearly killed/tried to kill the traveller
I gave this one a chance. I thought they were playing it light for Echoes because it came with the expansion. But its the same amount of content, down to the same amount of loot
It is VERY noticeable this season how weak the actual story part of the episode is. Since they changed it to all at once and cut all the filler in between stuff (like go do Onslaught again for the 4th week in a row), it is very noticable how lackluster the actual content is. An ENTIRE act that was intended to be a month+ long story is able to be cut down to 2 hours and one single mussion with substance. As good as Tomb of Elders is... it can't carry a bucket full of nothing.
@nobodyuwu3970 don't get me started on the story. They're trying to rap up 10 major stories at the same time, but think 3 2-hour quests can do that. The Kell of Kell story alone could have taken 3 or more full expansions to rap up, but its now just plot 3 out of 10 of the episode
My problem is there’s all this wide open space with all the planets, but it’s essentially empty if you’ve been playing consistently within like a month or so. They should have dedicated teams for each planet to update and craft fun new activities for those planets every month or so, it would seriously breathe excitement back into the game. And even worse the pale heart the new area inside the traveller is just boring after you play the campaign. Again divide the game into teams that throw anything at the wall to make the game evolve
Agreed to a extent, once the honeymoon period is over and you have grinded what needs to be done (triumphs, challenges, weapon/armor rolls etc) we are back here again but hey atleast we have “new” (which in destiny terms will be called something else but in reality they are mechanics from raids/dungeons or from different genres of games rouge likes etc) activities out of it right? Even then the grind will still be the same one we are accustomed to in destiny.
I totally agree. I feel like the fornitetification of destiny is killing the game. I wanted episodes to be more like just elaborate dlc with a battle pass. But instead, we got the same as season, just even more drip fed, with like what 25 minutes of story content per act and then a repeatable activity that is some how less fun than a sharp stick in the eye, AND a dungeon which you also have to pay for.
Agree with you. I find the contest of Elders is big grind for few weapons, if you want tonic material you are better off doing onslaught. The old Prison of Elders was better and more fun. As a solo player no clan it is a drag. Rewards are poor, better rewards would make me play more. Enjoy your videos a lot, great fun to watch.
Idk there's more content than ever really and personally the gameplay has never felt this good. The episodes are definitely a bit of a dud but it's not like the seasonal content is the only content in the game. I enjoy doing raids and GMs more than anything else. The seasonal stuff has never been a huge draw for me. It's not like we ever got hours and hours of seasonal story or anything.
I do like revenet episode because I do enjoy the bloodborne aspects and Armour. But yeah Sony needs to take over and make drastic changes. tired of bungie.
Seasons and events are engineered to solve a revenue stream problem, and I doubt they have the manpower to engineer completely new things on top of maintaining what's currently available. I personally liked the weekly story progress, but I hated that loot/mods are timegated.
Bungie is perfectly content in letting the player base slowly die off as they focus solely on micro transactions. I think the studio knows their days are numbered and it’s more of a “let’s see how much longer we can squeeze money out of hardcore fans”. Or it’s coming directly from Sony. Either way this last few episodes are just very ehhh to me. This latest episode and the Prison of Elders deal; what is going on with the weapon rewards? Just a couple new guns. How disappointing is that?! Where’s the incentive?
Content is definitely getting worse but mtx is par the course for bungie, im sure sony is pushing for more money but the store looks as aggregious as it always has

Personally yes I’ve been enjoying it, but realistically not really living up the hype. Maybe because it’s stretched out for months the progress of the story to obtain these Echoes (which feel like they don’t really matter as much as they should be) takes too long and the importance doesn’t land
Fr lol. The echoes feel like dollar store infinity stones and their presentation has been consistently horrible. One infinity stone could rewrite a part of the universe while one echo can barely affect a guardian Definitely as phoned in as this whole next year of destiny is about to be
I honestly believe the magic is fading and the effects of the layoffs are starting to hit. Were going to be entering the worst period of destiny weve ever had. Its kind of sad, its like watching a life long friend on life support and slowly fading away from life om their final day
They’re spreading themselves too thin to make too much content that’s just going to disappear. We need a revamp to the core game so we have something to go back to after seasons/episodes come and go
Remember, this content was made before final shape was released. And that's a depressing thought. They needed to keep the player base and this is what was planned.
Lol you can feel just how much the rest of the game suffered from them dropping the ball on the initial final shape release and having to delay everything just to make a new faction, a plug n play subclass, and a few more exotics. Now we get boring seasonal slop and no ten year anniversary because everything must ship and we can't overdeliver!
Im enjoying doing stuff ive put off like gilding conqueror, raids, getting red borders. But im hoping stuff gets better next episode when they said the dreadnaught (My favorite area) will return
My ideas: 1. Delete all white, green and blue armor and weapons to optimize memory and servers (they're useless). 2. Make a dedicated playlist "Legends" with all seasonal activities. 3. Make system for choosing the loot u want from activity
I kinda lost the hype in them simply because of how revealing and underwhelming the variety of the rewards or the less content there is, Like you said a lot of open air. It's really underwhelming to get several weeks, just to get 2 weapons and a returned weapon that was copy and pasted to the current season, taking up more space, instead up updating the original version. Theres been a huge lack in INNOVATION, its nice to get something new or little different, but whats the point in doing anything in the game if its the same process that we been having since the horrible Vaulting, where there is so much less innovation and like variety in the little simple things that makes a loot or content exciting. They have to keep the game going until the third episode is done so they don't get sued from the people that paid a hundred dollars for final shape + this slop
One thing I will say about being able to do the story all at once/feeling like a lack of story is that they didn’t originally plan to have this episode able to do that but they changed so we could but still kept the content in the old “format”

I’ve had a lot of fun just build crafting and trying new things. Going after older titles and things. While I wish I didn’t finish the story content in 2 hours I don’t think the games in a bad spot right now. I thinks a lot of good changes are happening. This is coming from someone who doesn’t play more than 1-2 hours a day.
Hot take: I prefer episodes over seasons. The content cadence is much better. There's something new every 6 weeks instead of front ending a season for the first 6 weeks (just story basically) and then you get nothing for 6 weeks.
This season/episode is just Eramis the redemption arc as well, a trope that's been overdone in D2. If you want a better redemption story get Red Dead Redemption 1&2, much better experience, they're even on Black Friday sale depending on platform, go have fun playing those games instead.
The simple answer? Is NO, but the reason why is a little more complex in my opinion Like, just look at the difference between Echoes and Revenant. And overall? Unpopular opinion, but I thought episode echoes was better imo. Like, yeah, first act was a simple activity with different bosses, then in the second act we had three whole battlegrounds and then the exotic mission, while in Revenant (as of now), we had a funky version of onslaught which didn't change at all during the weeks (which means it's stale, since it's either scorn or cabal, and stale means boring), and then there's tomb and challenge of elders, which... could have been great, like the coil in season of the wish, but the loot ruins it. Yeah, overall I just think that Revenant is a bit all over the place, with a story like this, loot which isn't that interesting (except a few weapons) and waiting for a month just for some seasonal story
I feel like it would have been better if they released tomb of elders first instead of onslaught , most people’s reason for no liking tomb is that there is only 3 weapons to get and it’s annoying getting the act 1 weapons . I think revenant would have left a better impression if it launched with Tomb , then release onslaught for act 2
All I will say is the last two time I have been burnt out were season of the lost and wish. The two longest seasons. This is halfway through episode 2 and I am already burnt out
I was a casual player only doing control in pvp until season of the wish. I just got bored and kinda felt alone in the game with my clan and friends all gone. So i left my clan that i was in for years. I dont even remember my clanmates. But i looked for an active clan and met a great clan leader that took me into and taught me many raids and dungeons. So basically season of the wish i really enjoyed since i was getting into endgame and collecting red borders for the first time (I took a break after witch queen after crafting was introduced and came back between season of the witch and wish)
The loot needs to be upped. There needs to be full sets of weapons instead of these half sets. And there’s nothing exciting about rereleased weapons with new origin perks. Bungie could release the greatest dlc ever but, if the loot isn’t desirable then the activities become pointless.
Didn't finished echoes because of the bug in the exotic mission. This "Season" just too short to be one, considering the first had longer steps in the acts
I actually kinda wish Bungie would just go back to seasons but drop the weekly story and let us play it all at once Honestly looking at episodes, maybe curse of Osiris and warmind weren’t that bad
I agree with you but keep in mind you dont have to grind it out to the extreme for like hours. Play it casual. At some point you'll get your loot. And if not. It's not the end of the world cuz next season/ep. You'll forget about it lol. Cuz something else will be better.
-this is a fun channel I just want to have fun not complain all the time -Has made more videos just complaining for the sake of complaining in the past month than any other kind of video No wonder Destiny youtubers don't get any views anymore who wants to watch somebody make 30 videos in a row just saying that the game is horrible and how much everything sucks and they hate playing it
The game is already almost 200 Gb. That’s a serious issue. They really can’t be adding content without taking content away, there’s a ton of content they could throw into the game and make it massive. It would t be sustainable.
Dude I watched your video for the ending of echoes and u missed the entire point u aren’t interested cause it’s not some big bad anymore I’m not a huge fan of the advertisement of them but I get the point
My thoughts are The Final Shape was Astounding. Echos was so mid boring and just eh. Revenant is interesting and fun but the amount of content and story material takes away from it
C'mon man. Requiring you to complete the previous act quest before you can start the next one is perfectly fine and nothing like the forge... Mountains out of mole hills LMAO
I'm fine with judgement on Episode 1. But I really don't think it's fair to judge Episode 2 yet. The story still has a likely very consequential final act, for a range of characters and story threads. I also feel judging the change from the weekly story drops compared to the dropping of entire Acts all at once is kind of a hollow comparison, because we all know the change, when implemented to Episode 2, was done so retroactively, so there's only so much that could be done to make that transition smooth. Episode 3 will be easier to see what lessons have been learned, as there's been much more time for Bungie to tinker with the structure.
Destiny truly feels like it’s being made by a fraction of the people that used to make it

No wonder Destiny youtubers don't get any views anymore who wants to watch somebody make 30 videos in a row just saying that the game is horrible and how much everything sucks and they hate playing it
The game is already almost 200 Gb. That’s a serious issue. They really can’t be adding content without taking content away, there’s a ton of content they could throw into the game and make it massive. It would t be sustainable.
Or they could compress file size.
They need to move to cloud storage. After space marine 2 showed what was possible with that, there's really no excuse
The only thing good in these episode seem to be at the end when the exotic mission come out
Don't forget the cutscenes and lore. The statue looking cutscenes are amazing
Revenant is interesting and fun but the amount of content and story material takes away from it
Stating the obvious. Also the “new” loot is all reskins. Not even D1 to D2 reskins.
C'mon man. Requiring you to complete the previous act quest before you can start the next one is perfectly fine and nothing like the forge... Mountains out of mole hills LMAO
Okay seriously, what exactly is different between battlegrounds and strikes? I can hardly tell at all....
Battlegrounds take forever and give you the same shitty loot. Strikes are nice quick
@@ThePresidentofMars Now when Bungo remaking strikes, and they become as long as battleground.
@Daemonic6 i dont even bother with the strike playlist nowadays, ill just play gambit.
Better than lightfalls story
Lightfall seasons x100 better than this
@Daemonic6 defiance and deep were awful stop coping and I said lightfalls story as in the expansions story
@@TheMax107 Defiance and deep were better than Echoes, Echo story it's bullshit mess with whining Saint entire season.
@Daemonic6 guessing you didn't read the Mya lore 🤦♂️🤦♂️
@@TheMax107 Why i need to read Maya lore? If i want to read i will read a book.
I’ve been a Bungie defender forever. That being said…. Destiny is cooked brother
Get rid of gambit for one. Then stop making season with dlc expansion take more time with expansion.
Gambit gets no content, so why get rid of it? If anything the core playlists need new content over the seasonal model.
epic
Glad I didn't waste money on this garbage after final shape 😂 enjoy your monotonous grind still ppl seems same as it was years ago lol
No
I'm fine with judgement on Episode 1.
These were made during Final Shape's development. It isn't gonna get any better than this, they just removed the once a week macguffin missions.
This game has become like a chore it is not fun to play anymore.
