But generally I personally have no problem when 18 year olds choose to do whatever and date whomever. I suppose I agree they shouldn't date bad people or abusive people or people who would be a bad influence but that's not really my business or my call to make. They are the adult in those situations.

And even just the rumors of him dating Joey King will harm the young actress's own relationship, which is a selfish thing. He should care less if that granny groomer gets hurt. What he should do, whether or not he finds another woman who's actually good for him, is divorce the old bat and fight to have his children in his life. No matter what, those kids shouldn't have to suffer the deeds of their parents. But no person should be stuck in that kind of disturbing and weirdo relationship. And I say this as someone who hates divorce because my own mother's been divorced twice, but in some cases, the marriage should've never happened in the first place. The actor was clearly groomed, even if he consented in their relationship. Apparently young guys have kinks for older, "mature" women. At the end where Brett mentions the issue of rape being present and no one taking action - it actually reminded me of this one movie a friend mentioned to me briefly once.
The name of the movie I believe was called silenced and it is a Korean drama about 2 hours long (on Netflix pretty sure).
    Anyway,
The idea of the movie is based on a true story - in which hearing impaired (deaf) students were sent to a disabilities school but were (behind closed doors) sexually assaulted for over *five years*.
This movie was made in around 2011 I think and it brought a LOT of conflict within Korea as the real-life offenders were let off on minimum punishments (basic fines, little to no years in jail etc.)
So, rightfully, people took a stand. And when I say this movie was popular I’m talking MILLIONS of people had seen it when it was released. A petition was signed and I’m unsure if the offenders got further punishment (though I believe they did.)
It’s interesting how media can influence modern action - and I think it was clever on the directors behalf to bring it to light.
I do hope the people whom did get assaulted are doing better in the modern day, and I wish them the best - considering they have already have the setback of just being born disabled.
    Hope you’re well too, reader !! :))

My parents are 29 years apart - when they met she was 23, he was 52- they've now been married 19 years and couldn't be happier. Big age gaps like that are unique, but there's not anything necessarily wrong with them.

Ok. Cheating is never ok. I don't follow celebrity relationships that closely, because frankly, I don't care. That being said, if their families did know each other and she knew him as a kid, yes that's weird. I won't pretend to know what happened between them. Also, there are stories like Jane Eyre where a much younger woman falls in love with a much older man, AND her employer. Maybe by today's standards, that's not ok. But it has worked for some couples in the past. I know of someone who married her teacher just after high school, and they've been together ever since. Also, are we all forgetting Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher?

I don't know if I'd see it as creepy to the same level as other people. My parents are 19 years apart so I was more inclined to like much older men because it was normal. (My husband ended up being one year older than me - my kindergarten crush.) My mom was 21 and getting a divorce when she met my dad who was 40. They were married and she had my oldest brother at 24. She's 2.5 years younger than my dad's oldest kid. They were friends and my dad was really nervous to ask her out. People think it's weird, but they are still married and both are retired and he took care of my mom's mom until she passed since my mom retired shortly before she passed. Anyway... just giving another age gap perspective.

Everyone in this comment section needs to remember the rest of the world isn't the United States. Our age of consent isn't the same as every other country on earth. In The UK where these two are from the age of consent is 16. Sure what the lady did was weird but at this point it was all legal and they seem happy enough if they have two kids. Honestly the weirdest part of this whole situation is the way the internet has fetishized the possible cheating and marital issues. Have the terminally online people gotten so lonely they actively cheer for the end of strangers relationships?

As someone who has an age gap relationship, I sympathize with him. I've never seen the age of my partner and it's never been an issue between us. We didn't do anything during our first year together because I wasn't old enough. So ya I can believe they didn't do anything during filming when he was 17. Once he turned 18 tho I felt like they would have fucked like rabbits. But maybe that'd just be me. We've been together now for 9 years and I had our son just this year.
I get why people think age-gap relationships aren't the norm. And they aren't at the same time tho just because someone is older than their partner doesn't make them a predator.
I know of another couple who have an age gap. Buddy was 28 at the time and she was 15. They have been married for almost 30 years now and have 2 teenage children and are the happiest couple I know. So as long as there happy and no one abusing each other then I don't see why people have to be so nasty.

ya but there's a difference between a prepubescent child (under 10 usually but can go up to 13) and a teenager who's gone threw puberty (14-18-year-olds) pedophiles are a specific definition. The way our laws are written, a child is classed as anyone who isn't an adult by legal terms. An adult is someone who is over a certain age in a country, so Canada considers 18 to be adlut. States usually 21. In Europe age of consent is 14 and in some places 16.
So there of legal age to consent to sex in their country does that still make it grooming?
Grooming from what I understand, is when an adult tries to normalize sexual behavior with that child. (touching themselves etc) but again we're talking prepubescent children here.
So I don't see how you could call something grooming when you don't do anything sexually for a whole year. Or don't have sex until they were married in the case of my friend. They got married in the '80s so that was still a thing back then.
Or do you believe the age of consent laws is too low? Should it be higher than 16? Cuz that's what we're talking about here young adults, not children.

This is the only episode i disagree with BC on. I have met several friends in my life who cross time to find their soulmates and are still together today. I feel since it is rare for this to happen, People default to their judgmental selves. Some out of ignorance, some out of jealousy, and maybe some cause of events in their lives. Those who truly fall in love with each other mind, body, and soul don’t care how others feel. The only person that matters is there soulmate. I truly pray everyone who reads this finds not just some one who makes them happy but some one who they know that their love will transcend time, space, and seep into other dimensions to find one another again.

Hi, Brett & Team! Happy Friday!! Well....this story is putting a spotlight on one heck of an age discrepancy in terms of "romance". Wow. Yes, this story would have been much hotter if the man was the one who was so much older, but oh well. Hypocrisy is "old hat" these days, unfortunately. No, I don't think there's an excuse to engage in cheating here. If they committed to each other, then stay committed to each other (unless your spouse is sleeping around behind your back). Then the marriage covenant has been severed. My brother went through that. But now that they have kids, then I'd expect them to work through any betrayals for the kids' sakes. By the way, Brett, didn't you say that she's over 100?? Does that mean that she was round when Biden got elected to the Senate for the first time?? 🤣🤣🤣

Nothing justifies cheating in a relationship. It reveals an insurmountable failure of moral character. A person who cheats on a spouse isn't deserving of being romantically involved with anyone.
