I was around 15 when my dad put together our first home computer. I went through college just before computers were used. It might be strange to some but I was the last generation to have a “normal” childhood playing outside with friends until dark. I just can’t say how truly grateful I am to have had that opportunity to experience a life without computers.
Come home when the streetlights turn on. Was about our only rule. We got a computer around mid 90s but i still spent my time outside. Wasn't until high school we started to have computer classes, O how the world has changed.

Apparently my friends thought it was hilarious to play games and then put profanity in the High Scores- Yikes! We played outside, rode our bikes all over and sometimes even our horses. Heaven help us if we ever declared we were “bored”! If we were thirsty- there was the garden hose and a good week of good behavior was rewarded with a grape Nehi and a Hershey bar! I’m so grateful for the chance to learn independence, self reliance and reliance on my friends! God Bless my parents ❤
Excellent movie. The characters were relatable and believable. The movie touches on several important social issues without pushing any agenda. A great movie to watch to spur on thoughtful discussions and introduce basic preparedness. Also, for those that can't believe a young boy would chop wood to impress and show respect to an elder clearly don't know what they are talking about. This was a wonderful family film for the times we live in. Two big thumbs up. Thank you Saturn Films.
Totally agree. When I saw the No Trespassing sign I thought we'd see more signs of preparedness, but not a chicken, garden, pond, or solar generator in sight. 😄

Original story! The dynamic between the 3 main characters (Patrick, TJ and Hannah) is refreshing. It's a perfect teenage adventure movie that takes us where we didn't expect to go! This independent film is worth seeing 😃

That was the slowest movie I've seen in awhile. It took more than an hour just to get to some decent action. But it was way better than any of the latest Disney movies
A bunch of complaisant teenagers saved the day,Scott Davis as usual an example of what a grandfather should be. Brilliant acting all round, a movie with a cup of hot chocolate in front of the TV, who can ask for more! 9 out of 10 👍👍👍

I'm with you..The son i raised by myself, at five years old said he wanted to go to church, the following Sunday I dropped him off at a church...A year latter i walked into that church, a year after that i was saved..That son is in the airforce now, him and his wife have an 8yr old daughter my granddaughter..My son married a college educated girl..Now that this old usmc veteran Christian Patriot can't believe my son has become radicalized woke agenda minded..Now he won't have nothing to do with me...I just don't get it.. Now I believe the Bible is true, that God will bring back the prodigals..The one thing he can't argue with, is that he started it, God used that 5 Yr old little boy to get his dad saved,heald and delivered..I've been alone for a long time, however, I live for Jesus, but can't wait to go to my forever home.. The soundtrack was great, and the casting was excellent. I could see a couple hesitations, but the acting was right on point. Great teenage feel-good movie and a wonderful ending.
This is not a big budget movie, but the film makers did not let that get in the way of telling a good story. Drew me in right away as seemed relevant to the times we are now experiencing. Kept my attention, good character development and storyline, built suspense and was worth the watch.

@@alizarin100 Here in lies the problem. The lead-in to this movie was geared toward what if, as a nation, we lose power now that we've become addicted to it. That's actually a good thought. An intriguing premise for a movie. Unfortunately, it was COMPLETELY misleading as there was only about 15 total minutes (mostly the last minutes of the movie) out of the TWO HOURS where they actually got to the point. I started counting how many times a lead character had to be "saved" emotionally. If it was setup to be geared to middle school type DRAMA, they should have led with that, scrapped the power down story line and changed the title. They had a chance to make an intriguing movie, but instead made it a teenage soap opera. Sorry, I won't applaud that.

I was a bit reluctant at first to watch this movie because the main characters were teens. Sometimes movies portray all teens as whiney, self-centered, angst-filled jerks, but this movie avoided that cliche. All the actors were talented, the story line was interesting, the scenery beautifully filmed, and the music was well done. Even when the scene was sad, it stayed realistic without descending into the maudlin. & Thank you for sharing this enjoyable movie.
It was well past the half way mark, before the main plot behind the film became clear, but it was more than worth the wait, due both to the high quality acting and beautiful mountain scenery. The music soundtrack was next to perfect. Thank you for uploading this.
Dismantled power grid is such a fluid interesting concept considering that after the ice storm here in Houston Texas, that this story although fictional still rents space in the mind of curiouser and curiouser. 😍

@@SaturnEntertainmentStudios Some sinister forces have something like this planned I am sure, and have been spreading rumors for years about EMP attacks etc. The country is being flooded with who knows what from the Southern border, and there is a sure plan to take down this country by the current administration. Estimates are that over 90% of the population would be dead within a year of such a catastrophe.
Maggie Callahan is a sweet lovely and talented actress. I'll look for her in more movies now. This was a very well produced film with a great story and plot.
This movie needs the music. How does she do all that open air driving and her hair never gets tangled? The dark haired gal makes the show worth watching, she is a great actress.

The introduction made me think it would be a great movie. It's water with sugar, and the soundtrack has a feeling of Jurassic Park without the dinosaurs.
I almost didn't get pass the first ten minutes, because it was pretty stupid not to say a few words. Not to ruin the movie. But I stuck with it, and overall, a pretty good movie.
Really nice movie. The background score helped cruising through the vastly different landscapes of nature and emotions so smoothly. Will watch it again.
Outdoor scenery good and very apropos considering that when the Biden controlled power grid goes down for keeps, we'll all be living in the equivalent of "outdoor scenery."😉
Some parts of this movie were really lame, along with some of the acting, and had a good story line. They should have used a Toyota in stead of a crappy Jeep and they wouls had no problems. Lol 🤣
Great movie & good acting, there certainly were no regrets or loss for her father's death or how he died. Instant death no pain & free cremation what else could one ask for. ! Scott Davis fantastic as always playing the part of Grandpa totally oblivious to what was really going on around him. Thanks for putting this movie out for we the viewers to watch. ❤️🇦🇺
This is actually a pretty good movie. One thing I will say is that humans existed and even properly survived for a long time before we had electricity at our fingertips. I'm not saying we should give all these things up and go back to a more primitive life per se, but that we all ought to know what to do if the power is out for a while because it's literally not the end of the world. Start with a little camping. It really is rather nice to get at least a little taste of a more simple existence in nature.
Hi. I don't know the percentage of the world today, more than half for sure, who live with unstable electricity, way too many blackouts, and without access to clean water for drinking, cooking, bathing. I can't imagine how so many Ukranians, Afghanistans, and others feel when war takes it all away. Living outside of the US, for just a few months, can open your eyes to how (lack of) electricity/water affect people Looking forward to seeing this movie. Thanks for playing it here on RUclips!
Filmmaker Adam Deierling has made an ambitious film with many twists and turns which in the beginning looks to be a coming-of-age story, morphs into a road-adventure film, and then with some hints along the way turns into a thriller. Newcomer Maggie Callahan shows great promise. She comports herself well as a girl who is ignorant of her background but, nonetheless, is spirited and has an inner strength. Great camerawork here. The shots of the countryside were breathtaking. One of the great things about cinema is it gives the audience an opportunity to view other parts of our world that we might, otherwise, never see.
Pretty cool flick. Has some very cinematic moments, enjoyed the story line. This encourages me and my team to finish off our own film On American Soil and watching yours gives me the inspiration to put out a very good indie film. Thank you for letting us access your film so we can learn and enjoy off of it. Great job ya'll.

Good movie. Way better than what has been coming out of Hollyweird. Special effects could use some work but the acting, script, plot, all of it was pretty on point keeping in mind its a movie for entertainment. I cant stand most movies or TV shows. This was a good movie. Great job!

Well, it wasn't what I expected from the description but I loved it! Great action type movie for a family with kids 10 and up. Maybe a bit younger if they are already plating those shooting games. "The Other Side of Darkness" really is the great movie at best!

It was well past the half way mark, before the main plot behind the film became clear, but it was more than worth the wait, due both to the high quality acting and beautiful mountain scenery. The music soundtrack was next to perfect. Thank you for uploading this.

Dismantled power grid is such a fluid interesting concept considering that after the ice storm here in Houston Texas, that this story although fictional still rents space in the mind of curiouser and curiouser. 😍

Estimates are that over 90% of the population would be dead within a year of such a catastrophe.

This movie needs the music. How does she do all that open air driving and her hair never gets tangled? The dark haired gal makes the show worth watching, she is a great actress.
The music was boring too much and it played to long. The picture was to be watched if you were sleepy!
@@anitaharrington1141 True enough, but without the music you wouldn't know what was "good" about the hero- she stole a jeep, but some reason it was a good thing. And the acting was that bad, Most of the cast didn't seem to want to be in this "movie."
The introduction made me think it would be a great movie. It's water with sugar, and the soundtrack has a feeling of Jurassic Park without the dinosaurs.

Some parts of this movie were really lame, along with some of the acting, and had a good story line.
They should have used a Toyota in stead of a crappy Jeep and they wouls had no problems. Lol 🤣

This is actually a pretty good movie. One thing I will say is that humans existed and even properly survived for a long time before we had electricity at our fingertips. I'm not saying we should give all these things up and go back to a more primitive life per se, but that we all ought to know what to do if the power is out for a while because it's literally not the end of the world. Start with a little camping. It really is rather nice to get at least a little taste of a more simple existence in nature.
Also, I've not been to West Virginia and it looks so beautiful that I'd like to go someday.
Hi. I don't know the percentage of the world today, more than half for sure, who live with unstable electricity, way too many blackouts, and without access to clean water for drinking, cooking, bathing. I can't imagine how so many Ukranians, Afghanistans, and others feel when war takes it all away.
Living outside of the US, for just a few months, can open your eyes to how (lack of) electricity/water affect people

Filmmaker Adam Deierling has made an ambitious film with many twists and turns which in the beginning looks to be a coming-of-age story, morphs into a road-adventure film, and then with some hints along the way turns into a thriller. Newcomer Maggie Callahan shows great promise. She comports herself well as a girl who is ignorant of her background but, nonetheless, is spirited and has an inner strength. Great camerawork here. The shots of the countryside were breathtaking. One of the great things about cinema is it gives the audience an opportunity to view other parts of our world that we might, otherwise, never see.

Good movie. Way better than what has been coming out of Hollyweird. Special effects could use some work but the acting, script, plot, all of it was pretty on point keeping in mind its a movie for entertainment. I cant stand most movies or TV shows. This was a good movie. Great job!
