Mansour Barami is a LEGEND. He grew up in Iran and didn't start playing tennis until he was 13. Due to the Islamic revolution tennis was banned in his country because it was considered a capitalist sport. Due to that he was never really able to reach his full potential when it came to competitions. I was lucky enough to watch him play at the ATP and his showmanship and joy of playing the sport is inspirational. Not to mention that his comedic timing is just off the charts! He is a complete joy to watch and his skill and prowess in the game is unmatched. His trick shots take your breath away! He is one of the truly unsung heroes of tennis! @@aminmohamed520 I totally get that many of us love Mansour Bahrami. I mean, who doesn't? The guy's absolutely hilarious on the court and his tricks are a sight to see. But let's be real for a second here - calling him a "tennis legend"? That might be a bit of a stretch.
Sure, he's a hit on the seniors and exhibition circuits and can always get a laugh out of the crowd with his antics. But when we're talking about the real big guns in tennis - you know, the Federers, the Serenas, the Nadals of the game - Bahrami's pro record just doesn't stack up. These guys have won Grand Slam titles left, right, and center, while Bahrami's pro victories are, well, kinda sparse.
Don't get me wrong, I love the guy. His charity work is really cool and he's definitely left a mark on the sport. But when we're talking "legends", aren't we really talking about those who've changed the game with their mad skills and string of victories? So yeah, Bahrami's a great entertainer and a top bloke, but as for being a pro tennis legend, I'm not so sure.
