I like this song...the whole throwback feel and the way she sings with so much soul. It's refreshing because it's differnet than everything that's out in the industry right now.

Oh wow, it is neat to hear this song after hearing about it so many years ago. I remember hearing about her doing a song that had a reference about a man not having a job just like Tommy on Martin! But I didn't know a whole song was crafted around it. A record exec wasn't sure people would get the reference at that point. I thought it was strange that exec would say that because Martin was a big show and "you ain't got no job Tommy!" was a big running gag on the show. I guess I kind of understand his thinking better now because the song is called Just Like Tommy and the whole theme of the song is about the subject instead of it having a quick line referencing Tommy not having a job. But people are still understanding it, that's how iconic Martin was and how the Tommy gag was so big.

Why Brandy never put this song on her album is a mystery. I know that I would be blasting this song in my car. My favorite part is 0:54-1:05. That whole line is just funny. "You really don't have a job, Staying with your mommy, using her car to drive, claim your a baller, tell me another joke" That is just classic, funny, and creative. Why was this not on an album? her vocals were amazing and smooth. I want this song how can I get.

@MCboy012 Look honey where did you get this song from. I don't see it on her Brandy album, Her Never say Never, Full Moon, Afrodisiac, or Human. And its not on Itunes. So where the hell did you get it I want this song to play in my car.
