The government has surrendered our country to alien races who are offended by us, our religion, traditions, history, and we are supposed to feel ashamed and not draw attention to anything that might be remotely British even our religion as this could be perceived as privileged, offensive, or even racist. I am a barrister of nearly three decades practising in the UK. These police officers (at least the ones speaking in this video) are a disgrace and clearly do not know, let alone, understand English law. It is appalling that this level of police incompetence is allowed out on to the street to deal with members of the public. The Met police and other forces desperately need to get a grip of this incredulous and woeful modern approach to policing, it is a moral stain on the UK. As a former UK soldier and from a long family history of Met police officers I am ashamed and appalled. Are our politicians so blind or do they really not care a jot about our nation. Sick of it all, day-in day-out I see this sort of thing going on in the courts and now the streets. The two police officers despearately need retraining or better still get a job more suited to their skill set.

Not one of them could speak with any authority on what they were painfully babbling about without others interjecting adding their thoughts on the law. What it looks like, in this footage, is that none of these police-people have had any training at all, and are just making up rubbish, from what they've read on the back of a corn-flakes box! ... So, "just obeying orders" comes to mind, but quite obvious is that the true cause of this mess is with their training, and their trainers, who either haven't done their jobs, or are just as ignorant of what the actual laws are! 😱😖

As a British Christian I am very concerned about the direction of travel our country is going in - its like a bad dream!

Why are bystanders allowing this to happen. When British people see this happening they should step in to defend the innocent from this tyrany. I'm totally atheist but if I ever saw this happening in my neighbourhood I would come down on the police and let them know that, what they're doing is harrasment. I would hope others would join me in condemning this type of behaviour. If every time they tried pulling this stunt they were subject to the wrath of common people they'd soon stop.
@@KenFullman I have LOTS of personal experiences of the reactions between the MetCops and the general public Ken, as I have regularly been protesting both inner and outer London for the Anti-ULEZ movement. Some good reactions, and a couple of times absolutely horrendous!! I truly believe that in the majority of cases, it is NOT the actual cops who are to blame. It presumably is how they have been trained (or not as the case may be). I have had numerous conversations with them and they are very clear in that they HAVE TO do as they are told, or else !! In this case however, I believe ALL five BritCops were totally out of order. Am pretty sure that, if it happened anywhere near a lot of my 'colleagues', the outcome would have been rather different ....

I'm a retired police officer and despair at this sort of incident. The Gospel doesn't cause harassment, alarm, or distress but 5 police officers, the first of which could barely string a coherent sentence together, do. This is outrageous.
Are the police committing offence here? Are they not breaking common law? Are they not showing intolerance towards a religious people? Are they not making a false presumption of guilt? Have they demonstrated that a crime has been committed? Are they not abusing the civilians right to remain silent? Do they legal justification to demand his name?
I am truly terrified of this country. So many rights were removed in march 2020 and only now are people wondering what's going on.

@@bonglandgreg You raise some valid points with which I tend to agree. It's the police presence, way over numbered, that are causing a breach of the peace at the least. Their presumption of guilt is also clear as is their intolerance towards religious freedom (especially Christianity). When someone commits a 'clear' offence and refuses to provide name and address, there is a power of arrest but the threat of doing so in these circumstances is inappropriate.

The problem comes from Chief Constables, who see the public as prey rather than their bread and butter. Laws are written such that they can be broadly and evenly applied. The problem here is that one person's distress, harassment and offence is another person's robust argument, or well-meaning sentiment. Who's to say what constitutes offence, for sure not the officer who can't even speak English.
Further, it cannot be harassment as this involves a persistent interference or torment of a person. On a public street the offended person was free to walk away, thereby ending their 'torment'.

I suspect that part of the problem lies with the Recruitment of Officers. The method of Recruiting apparently allowed Wayne Couzens to become a Police Officer. I am a Retired Police Officer and can say with pride that I knew my job well enough to perform my Duties correctly. When I joined, there were Recruiting standards to be met. These were abolished, I suspect because the Pay and Conditions made it that a person who would have made a good Officer, did not wish to be one, leaving the way open for those that would not otherwise have been Recruited, to be Recruited.There used to be a saying......"if you pay peanuts, you`ll get monkeys". I live in Uxbridge, have done for 30 years. I cannot recall the last time I saw ONE policeperson, nevermind five.... And that was when elderly people were attacked in their homes etc etc. There's normally zero policing here, except for "cases" like this. But hey, it's the Met, back in the early 80s and before I moved to Uxbridge I was told, by serving policemen from the sticks, that the Met are the most despised "police" in all the UK, in the opinions of other forces. I am a retired police officer (1979-2009). I was shaking my head in disbelief at these (boxes ticked) officers' conduct and lack of training and understanding of the law. The reason so many turn up to an incident is because none of them has a clue what to do so they have back up all around them when they are questioned. I would have dealt with this on my own. Result - No offences committed, advice given. End of!!! When they are given a hammer, everything looks like a nail to them. I wonder how this ended.

The mere sight of a Police officer on the streets of the UK today causes me severe ALARM< UPSET AND DISTRESS; It is heart-breaking to see how bad the Police are now in 2024; From their total disregard of British People, the total ignorance of Law; And the worst crime they commit on a daily basis is walk about in a disgusting filthy uniform; They deserve NO RESPECT; Not until they totally change; Even Council bin Men are better dressed;

I am feeling extremely harassed, alarmed, and distressed by the current situation. The level of stress and anxiety I am experiencing is significant, and it's important for me to express the depth of my emotions. This situation has deeply affected me, and I am struggling to cope with the overwhelming feelings it has evoked.
I have never commented on videos like this before but enough is enough, so to speak.
I was a Police Officer for 30 years between 1978 and 2008. I retired holding the rank of Patrol Inspector so I feel that I am well qualified to assess and comment on this incident.
I will try my level best to explain my thoughts in plain English.
Now I do not know what the specific allegation is or what may have led to the Police Deployment but if it is purely based on the individuals preaching the Gospel it leaves me speechless.
What has happened to the discretion that every Police Officer should enjoy to objectively assess an allegation. To show evidence of harassment the so called 'victim' would have to demonstrate evidence that 'they' followed them around and basically hounded them. That does not appear to have happened. I think it is 'scraping the bottom of the barrel' to suggest the 'victim' has been alarmed by people preaching the Gospel in a Christian Country. Anyone can allege that someone has caused them distress but the Police Officers must assess the overall situation and decide if the allegation is credible and would cause a person of reasonable firmness to be distressed. I worked the streets, as a Community Constable, and often came across groups or individuals preaching the Gospel. I would often engage in conversation with them and have a nice chat. Never did I ever deal with an allegation that they had caused Harassment, Alarm or Distress under the terms of The Public Order Act 1986. All the elements of the offence must be properly assessed in accordance with it's defined terms; the least serious offence being Section 5 as follows:
(a) uses threatening [or abusive] words or behaviour, or disorderly behaviour, or. (b) displays any writing, sign or other visible representation which is threatening [or abusive], within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress thereby."
The allegation should include clear evidence of the above and the victim was 'likely' to be harassed, alarmed or distressed. An example of how this could be applied is if the preachers gathered at the main entrance of a Mosque. But even then evidence would be required to show that they had been Threatening, Abusive or Disorderly.
My apologies if the above definition appears confusing but when you break it down it really is quite simple but very specific in its overall intention. The clue really is in the name of the Act Of Parliament that introduced the legislation; The Public Order Act 1986. The original spirit of this act was to deal with ‘Public Order’ incidents. In the given circumstances has there really been any kind of Public Disorder? I think not.
Now this really is the most startling thing that stood out for me when watching this video.
Constable Hope (the female officer) makes a specific reference to Section 4 of The Public Order Act, Now this is similar to section 5 of the same act but far more serious.
Section 4 clearly stipulates that the Preachers must have established an offence of fear of provocation of violence by using threatening words or behaviour. The offence is slightly different to the offence under s4 (a) which is intentional harassment, alarm or distress.
To say that I am left feeling bewildered is clearly an understatement. She very clearly states that she is dealing with Section 4 of the legislation but more importantly does not specify Section 4 or Section 4 (a) which must prove the Preachers did the following:
Uses towards another person threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, or
distributes or displays to another person any writing, sign or other visible representation which is threatening, abusive or insulting,
with intent to cause that person to believe that immediate unlawful violence will be used against him or another by any person, or to provoke the immediate use of unlawful violence by that person or another, or whereby that person is likely to believe that such violence will be used or it is likely that such violence will be provoked.
Just read the offence and ask yourself how on earth could a reasonably intelligent person apply such a serious Public Order Offence to these circumstances.
She also says to the Preacher; “I can see you smiling so I think you find this a bit of a joke”. On that note I will finish my assessment. Yes, Contable Hope, applying Section 4 (a very serious Public Order Offence) to these circumstances is a joke…
Back in the day, The Patrol Inspector was in complete Command and Control of all the incidents recorded for potential Police Deployment. There is absolutely no way that I would have authorised the deployment of fellow Police Officers to deal with this. I would most likely have written it off at source as no credible evidence and therefore no offences disclosed.

This style of policing is in total contravention of the Peelian principles of policing. AFAICS, the British police have abandoned eight of the nine Peelian principles.
And they are interpreting their oath and Section 5 of the Public Order Act 1986 in a way that was never originally intended or envisaged.
IMO, the police are breaching their oath and are themselves breaching Section 5 of the Public Order Act 1986.
I suggest that they read the Peelian principles and see that their actions in this instance and in many recent instances are in total contravention of such.
It really is as if they've been trained according to completely different principles that has them treating law abiding members of the public as if they are criminals.
Bullying, harassment, refusing to explain themselves, and threatening arrest contravene the Peelian principles.
These police officers' totalitarian approach is simply disgraceful, and if they can't see that it is they that are actually harassing, and causing alarm and distress, they shouldn't be wearing the uniform.
Their arrogance and demonstrable contempt for the public is unbelievable.
They also appear completely ignorant of the law, and are eager to abuse their powers and falsely arrest people, resulting in cases against the police for false arrest and the need to pay compensation out of public funds, which they claim are in such short supply that they hinder their ability to police.
However, I suggest that it is clear from how many officers are regularly available all over the country to attend such incidences that the police are demonstrably over-peopled.
