I met Mike Shinoda back in 2019 at an Emo Nite in LA. He was part of a DJ set with The Hundreds. I was up on the stage during their set and I was the only person from the crowd to realize who he was. He caught me taking pics of him. He smiled right at me and soon after asked if I wanted a picture with him. I handed my phone to my friend and we took a few photos together. I told him how much his music meant to me growing up and I was there at the Chester Bennington memorial at the Hollywood bowl. He was really excited to hear me talk about how passionate I was about Linkin park. Soon after everyone else realized who he was and lined up for pictures. He was incredibly humble and happy to meet each one of his fans.

I don’t know if you know who Marshall Yanda is (played for the Ravens, he’s a hall of famer) but I don’t work in his house for his heating and a/c. All the trophies, rings and jerseys…. In a closet in the the basement. Big part of his life but now his life is his family. He has two younger boys that love to ice fish their pond

I don't know but I'm guessing that his daughter was younger when Chester was still alive, and LP was doing most of it's touring. Depending on the age of his daughter, she may have matured during the phase that the band was not touring or making new music, which is 7 years ago now. I would also imagine it was too painful to talk about. That would explain how she doesn't know.
I was 10 maybe and my dad got him self a guitar and wanted to learn to play, and I was so excited to watch him play to find out he couldn’t because he cut the tips off of his ring and middle fingers. I decided to start practicing guitar that summer and eventually I got decent enough that he could recognize the song I was playing! Fast forward to 16, I found a music man guitar an offspring series and it had a super wide neck, I gave it to my dad and he was more comfortable with it, he could play power chords and just keep rhythm, still one of the coolest memories. He was never a good musician just artist who wanted to bond with his step son.
That’s such a beautiful memory-it’s amazing how music became a way for you and your dad to connect despite the challenges he faced. That Music Man guitar sounds like it was the perfect fit for him-what a gift! 😊
The guitarist from Black Sabbath had the same issue with his fingers, due to an injury that befell him on his last day at work, before he went full-time with his band - he made himself some prosthetic fingertips to get around the issue and tuned down a bit, too, I think...

I’m reading all the comments and most like how great he was able to stay humble and stay low key…it’s great and I love it. ❤️ However, this is my take…many kids nowadays would rather listen to someone else (like on social media) than their own parents or love ones who have their best interest in mind. I’m turning 58, my time as a child was any advise/lesson that came from my elders (mom, dad, aunts, uncles, grandparents) is golden and priceless.
Mike and Chester had an amazing sound together. The mix of rock and hip-hop is what made me a fan of Linkin Park, forever. Meteora is my favorite album, hands down.
I'm kinda in the same boat. I run and promote some shows, and I book dozens of music, TV, and voiceover guests every year... but to my nieces and nephews, I'm just the cool, dorky uncle. 😅
That to me means him and his wife did a killer job raising there girl. She got to just grow up with dad being dad not somebody special other then the special person dad is to her not what he is to others. Great job man

I'm not letting her know about the fame making a child feel like it has to grow up and fill some shoes that were never meant for that child , that child will have their own shoes naturally and it may be the same artwork other children of other celebrities and artists have grown up depressed feeling like they should be doing the same thing their parent is , you can tell he's really mindful of how he's raising his daughter.
