Said it before but it’s always fun having friends who are skilled in a variety of fitness skills & seeing what stats you lack from each other or what you have over each other cause then you can pick up how to improve from one another. It's ok but if you want to have a truly functional body, you need to include running for an extended period of time. A steady 8/10 k run 2-3 times a week. Do not like running? Replace it with other low-heart aerobic activity like jump roping, cycling etc.

    • @PeebeesPet

    • @ithinkthereforeitalk935
      @ithinkthereforeitalk935 12 часов назад +1

      No, endurance is way more important. You can have an ok strength and excellent endurance and you are golden. Or you can be super strong and bulky but have trouble moving your a*** upstairs and you are done. Can't be called a healthy individual, just a sack of meat unable to move his own body.

    • @thronarone9477
      @thronarone9477 3 часа назад

      Well, that’s not really a fair comparison. The equal analogy would be to compare having great endurance while being so weak that you can’t carry home a bag of groceries. Now, both of those extreme, hypocritical examples are not very realistic anyway.

    • @jamesfisher8476
      @jamesfisher8476 2 часа назад

      I understand it's an extreme example. But it is a realistic scenario where a patient has no endurance and no strength. The first exercises administered are strength building, and not endurance focused. However, the strengthen exercises also build the patients endurance, but that is secondary.

    • @ithinkthereforeitalk935
      @ithinkthereforeitalk935 Час назад

      Ok, I am an endurance athlete, run 80 k a week (sometimes close to a hundred).Could easily carry any bag of groceries before doing calistenics routine twice a week. Now I am much stronger but I did not do calistenics to get strong. I was and still am performing a relatively small number of pull ups (2 sets of 10) and push ups (5 sets of 10, different variations) for injury prevention.

  • @HeartlessKnave
    @HeartlessKnave 15 часов назад

    8:08 False equivalence. A powerlifter running a 50km+ marathon is _not_ the same as someone who squats 300 for 5 being able to squat 150 for 15 despite never going that high of reps before they could do the 300 for 5. Getting to 300 for 5 will definitely have caused the strength & hypertrophy adaptations to make 150 for 15 a breeze despite never going above the 5x5 strength program. THAT is what is being said, that you could do the *_same_* exercise for higher reps with less weight and so have more endurance.
