We definitely live in an age where the idea of "mainstream gnosticism" can exist without a single shred of irony. Kinda like "popular punk music".
This is a good talk, and i want to add something that sprang to mind in their fairly brief discussion of esoteric beliefs.
A great deal of occult/esoteric practice/belief deals directly with the idea of the "union of the opposites". In fact, one of the heretical gnostic sects (supposedly) venerated earthly sin as NECESSARY for salvation. Hopefully this idea stays in the long, nearly forgotten past, but i am not so sure we wont see a rise in this kind of thinking.
