Thank you so much. I came upon your channel after having major eye surgery for thyroid eye disease in September. I was homebound, couldn't see, and I would find things to listen to. Your readings were wonderful. You have such a kind and sweet style. Looking forward to the next book and reading! Thanks again, Merry Christmas! ❤

This book was really eye opening for me. It divulged a lot of really unattractive details that the general public wouldn’t have ever known (or believed!). The Kennedys were so carefully protected for a very long time. I wonder how this book wasn’t ever known to me? 😂 Thanks for reading it to (and for) us!
BTW: Mummy is a New England regional name!! I called my mother Mummy, which evolved into Mum as I got older, but I do recall some adults still saying “Mummy!”

Thanks for clarifying the mummy issue. I always thought that was how the elite upper class addressed or referred to their mothers.

@ You’re absolutely right about that-I’m sure that is where it originated! Please note that I am fairly old…and my mother was relatively old when I was born, so we go “way back” to the times when people were more formal and there were many steadfast rules in place!

Oppenheimer the author needs to update his book from what took place with Ethel from 1994 when the book was published until this year when she passed away

I think his original sources were close in age to Ethel (in-laws, cousins, etc.). I imagine they are no longer living. It would be nice to know the rest of her story.

In those social circles mothers were referred to as Mummy. I have an 84 year old socialite friend who still refers to her parents as "mumy and daddy", even they passed many many years ago.

Sadly 😞 Ethel did not write a memoir p I do wonder if she feels some responsibility for encouraging Bobby to run for president I think that might be one reason why she was distant with her boys I saw that film with her daughter Anne felt she was not forthcoming and her daughter did not really delve i too deep p I do wish I had gotten her at least a lifelong companion I ag thank you Becky happy holidays thank you Becky happy holidaysree the schedules would make one ell of a miniseries

Obviously, it's not that man's fault for being Palestinian. However, it is his fault for being a terrorist. So clearly, ethel would not want to be involved with somebody gross like that. I don't blame her. Poor woman

If being the mother of RFK Jr is what she will most be remembered for , guess she deserves our pity , or condemnation according to your point of view. 😉🤪Thanks Becki. ❤

@ sorry just being objective . From all we have learnt, Ethel apart from being staunchly Catholic had no compunction in treating other people in a way Jesus would have wept about. 😏

I’m not sure that’s what she will be remembered most for. Before I read this book, I never even thought much of anything about her, other than being married to Bobby. I am neutral on Bobby Jr. He’s very flawed, but considering his upbringing, he has come a long way (unlike poor David). I do admire his passion for improving the health of Americans, but disagree with him on many other things as well.
