They both are so truly exceptional. What’s true is.., no matter how you chop it, dice it, or criss cross it, there will never be another Helen Reddy or Regis Philbin. It’s obvious in this clip that Regis loves Helen, and it’s super obvious Kathie Lee is in awe of them both. It’s very sad when we lose wonderful Americans like these two. (Helen was born in Australia, but she was most definitely American - she lived 50 years of her life in Malibu.) Her best friend is Olivia Newton John.
Helen lives in a small apartment in Sydney Australia. She is worth 30 million dollars, but is a self proclaimed tight ass. She has not sung for 11 years and will never do so again. She does whatever she wants whenever she feels like it. She doesn't care about her past, only hopes the music lives, she does not care if you cant remember who sung it, just live it. She is Woman :)
Been watching these talk show interviews -- god, she had the patience of angels among all these command appearances and you can see she didn't hide her disgust -- how and why she finally stepped off the wheel is no mystery with the crap she went through. She was dragged over glass.
I take it, helen wouldnt be for everyone . her personality. she reminds me of aretha franklin but if she was a lot nicer. lol serisuly as a kid watching petes dragon i loved her. IN REAL life she seems much more different than i imagined-personality.
Absolutely dreadful having Kathie Lee sing along. Good grief. She seemed to have an attitude from the outset. I wonder if something happened backstage ??? Helen's voice was outstanding here, even with the annoying distraction of Gifford's chirping in ...
I realize it was Gifford's show but why on earth was she part of the duet! Singing along with Helen just made you realize even more, how annoying she is!!!! To Darryn Wilson - hopefully you've learned from your comment how not to predict the future!!!!

Actually, Darryn Wilson, Helen has come out of retirement and, as of January, lives in the US again. She is touring again.
