Driving on the dividing line on the street is not good as you are blocking both lanes and the drivers would not be sure if you belong to the left lane or right lane and they gonna think you are acting bossy and blocking the lanes on purpose. It's not a good practice. You should stay in the center of the lane and to respect other drivers. And you can't past through between cars like that it's too dangerous and the drivers will get very offended. If you want to pass use the bike lane to pass them.
And you really, really, really need to sit down when riding the scooter. Use a seat and bracket to mount on the scooter. Lower center of gravity will improve aerodynamics = higher top speed + greater efficiency = better gas mileage. And will give you quicker turning response to avoid deadly traffic accident. For sudden braking it greatly reduces your body being thrown forward 360 degrees. Riding and standing up is a suicide mission.

@firstinlastout It would get dorky (embarrassing) if people see you crashing and get injured. You can avoid many accident sitting down on a scooter. You'll likely to crash into a pothole going at 45 mph but not if you sit down low. More weight will go to the rear and will help prevent your body from flying forward.. I used to go over potholes at these speeds regularly sitting down.
