    I'm back! Thanks to everyone who supported me during my long break from RUclips. Stay tuned for more videos and some new project card! (had to repost this video due to an issue with the background music)

      Glad you checked it out! I enjoy making videos of fairly mundane things that seem so simple, but most people have never seen before.

    I literally need to replicate this exact process. 91 Toyota Celica ST front struts. The housing is nowhere to be found on the internet but cartridges inserts

    • @tinygaragefab
      @tinygaragefab  10 месяцев назад

      I have an '88 Celica GT. The front struts were already inset type. Yours might be the same, its worth the time to investigate before hunting down a used pair to cut the tops off of.

      @josephrings4309 10 месяцев назад

      Oh no it's been fully investigated and I already cut the tops off the struts were Beyond saving actually broke a coil spring front passenger and I know they're hard to find so 3 weeks of Investigation searching shopping nothing

    • @josephrings4309
      @josephrings4309 10 месяцев назад

      I'm quite sure I need to do what you have done or do coilovers already got the back struts new and put on just looking for similar size springs (2).

    Great work and I like the thinking behind it. Do you have any dimensions of the insert, Kyb is very vague about that stuff 👍 I did something similar with a Volvo insert into a coilover

    • @tinygaragefab
      @tinygaragefab  7 месяцев назад +1

      KYB publishes all the dimensions of their shocks and struts on their web page, including the end types and sizes on shocks. Very easy to find. As far as the diameter, they don't publish that, and I don't have any in front of me to measure at the moment.

      @@tinygaragefab I needed the diameter for KW V1 application and body length because they have several to choose from

    Is anyone aware of places in the US that do this kind of rebuilding if you send the strut housing off? I have a 1988 Chrysler Conquest with rear struts that are sealed exactly like this and needs this exact thing done to them.

    • @tinygaragefab

      I certainly don't know any shops that do this. But any decent fabrication shop should be able to do it. Either with a set of gland nuts and tunes from the junkyard like I used, or a decent machine shop could fabricate a threaded tube and nut to use. I really wish I had a better answer for you.
