I am thoroughly convinced that lithic research would begin to make much more sense if such a large piece of the puzzle weren't missing. North American lithic assemblages are mostly unknown due to speculative theories dismissing possibility before it is discovered. If our search of the archaeological record is confined to the upper Paleolithic then 90 percent of the truth will remain unknown. To me, pseudoscience is defined by the acceptance of speculation as scientific theory. For 80+ years it was believed that Clovis technology was brought to this continent. I have plenty of evidence of a lithic industry predating prepared core and flake technology. To whom does one present the evidence when the hierarchy has adamantly denied the existence of lithics which are associated with lower Paleolithic culture for over a century. It began with the first "theory" regarding the human colonization of the Americas and continues with each and every speculative argument which attacks every site which threatens to push man's presence beyond the speculation based Solutrean hypothesis. Can I ship a box of evidence to you? It may greatly enhance the global effort of human origins research.
