You know something, this song has such a deep meaning for me, but for such a horrible reason. I had a doctors appointment just before I was going to meet my friends and see the movie, it’s when I found out I had cancer again, and this time, it had spread all throughout my body and was completely in operable. I was so stunned, I couldn’t even think straight, and I went to see AI, With my friends as planned, who were actually waiting for me in the doctors waiting room, all I can remember is him telling me I had stage 4 intestinal cancer, which I had already beaten twice before that, but I’ve never seen my surgeon have tears in his eyes when he told me. The first two times, it came as a total surprise, but my surgeon wasn’t emotional, but when I saw him tearing up, I knew this was extremely serious, after that everything is a blank. I don’t remember leaving his office and going to the movie theater, the next memory I have is hearing this song in this video, sitting in the theatre surrounded by hundreds of people, and I completely fell apart. My subconscious chose that exact moment to acknowledge the news I had just been given hours before, I was inconsolable, to the point where my friends literally had to carry me out of the theater. That song haunts me, and I don’t know what’s going to happen, this was many years ago and I’m still here, fighting for my life, as the cancer starts going away, then comes back with a vengeance, yet every time I hear this song, all I can think of is that day in the doctors office, telling me I was not going to survive this one. So, me being me, I arranged my own funeral, I did not want to burden my family or anyone else, I recorded several videos to be played at my funeral, because I’ve always been a prankster, but in a fun loving way, and this song is going to be playing over and over, because it’s such a beautiful song that captures exactly what I want to say once I’m gone. I thank God I’m still alive, but the future is completely uncertain, the cancer could get worse and kill me very quickly, or, it could completely go away like it did the first two times. I just don’t know, but the movie and that song in particular is going to be the official entertainment for my funeral, along with the videos I already made, to make sure that the tears of sorrow from everyone there will soon turn to tears of laughter, as I’ve already told all of my friends that they are not allowed to cry in my funeral, I want them to celebrate, celebrate my life, celebrate the love we shared together, remembering of all the fun times we had together, and to remember only the good things, because focussing on the bad things is absolutely pointless, and just makes us feel horrible. Yeah, I’m weird that way, but I always have to have the last word, this way, I’m guaranteed to have just that!
Hello TJ, your message is very strong, and i thank you a lot to have written your "story" here, hoping that it will, for some, maybe change their views on life. I'm myself a disabled person. I'm not suffering from cancer, even if some of the symptoms I have are close to a brain tumor (without the "death" menace to be around.) as a musician, i had my life broken in hundred of parts 25 years ago and had to stop everything, i was a gig pianist, a jazz piano student and an accident stopped everything. each seconds or minutes of music i can do "sometimes", I try to enjoy them as best as i can, as i never know when i'll be able to listen to music or pratice it again. It can me weeks, months, years between these moments. The A.I soundtrack and the movie with it are something very special to me as well (for other reasons than you).. Hello. You are an amazing woman and I hope you beat this insidious disease for many years to come. I lost my son of 33 only 26 days ago. This is the song I chose to be played at his memorial. I have always been a Josh Groban fan and we played You lift me up at my sister's memorial. My fiance bought tickets to see Josh in July and somehow I want to make a request that he ding this song then for my son. Time right now seems unreal to me and there are moments I don't know how I can do another day like this. Reading your story and seeking your strength and determination to live despite the ravaged of cancer has somehow given me hope as well . My best friend is a cancer survivor as well and she has beaten it for the past 20 years. I wish you all the best and may you live a long long life. Thankyou for your story. I needed to hear it to find that lioness mama in me that I thought was gone to go on for my daughters and grandchildren and my friends who have been there for me every step of the way. May you be well in body and soul.❤️
The original one's on Josh's official channel, and it's simply beautiful. Thanks for posting this live one too -- always great to see Mr Williams on stage!
My pleasure ! soon this video will be removed and replaced by a remastered one (HD picture etc..) (in case you want to watch again later this video, it will still be on this channel but at an another place).
I almost forgot about this beautiful song of Josh Groban! I came across Lara Fabian’s song Ti Amo Cosi with Dimash Qudaibergen (Composer: Igor Krutoy). OMG that’s why her name rang a bell. Now I know where I first heard her sing. For Always! ❤❤❤

The duet is bad (no matter the form, Pop or pop-classical like here), but the solo version on the record with Fabian,is amazing (produced by Foster / Allison). It would have deserved to be performed at the Oscars this year but the fact that the song was not in the end credits made this to not be possible. I 'm curious , why would it be an irony ?
Well if i was less lazy, in 2023, maybe i'll be able to post an upscaled 1080p version of this video, but as the one i did doesn't please me and must be redone, it will be certainly 2024 ;) (ho you were just asking if there are still people watching this today ? yes, i think so, 105 000 views, not that bad (but in 12 years, i agree...!).
You can feel Lars holding back in several parts of the song not overwhelm Groban's voice. For her own song, she should no do duos. She is amazing in duos because she matches her partners but she always has so much more talent than anyone she sings with that for her own song it shows she is not performing at the peak of what she can do.
They did a duet of this song for the album of the movie "A.I.", in 2001. This performance was at the Boston Pops, in 2002. A duet isn't a competition between contestents to show who's the best. She is a greater singer than Josh, but he's great, too. At that time she had a career for almost a decade and he was just beginning. He was very brave to sing with her. This song was made for her but she didn't wrote it; the melody is by John Williams and the lyrics by Cynthia Wile. Lara is a great person, not a foolish diva like so many others; she isn't fool of herself and she's nice to her fellow singers, as well as she's nice to her fans.

Just a thought... Josh is only 19yrs old and Lara is 31yrs... Josh is just beginning... his voice is not even close to full maturity and that is just speaking of science based physiology, let alone musicality .... The female voice does not even evolve fully to it's physical pinnacle until about 45... When your body is the musical instrument, you are both an Athlete & an Artist... Any way For 19 Josh is beyond glorious and Lara has an exquisitely Luminous & transcendent voice... such Beauty. Yet her wisdom guides her with vocal & musical maturity to balance perfectly in strength, power & ultimate Harmony as one voice... Soar8ng beyond Time & Space. I absolutely Love this Song and this performance.... it is a Divine Miracle of Music sent from a Realm On High, straight from the Angels of Heaven!
I watched AI The Artificial Intelligence first in a movie theatre and I definitely remember this song there somewhere (must've been during final credits). However, later I bought it first on DVD and then on BD and must've seen it dozens of times - and it wasn't there anymore (in the original US version at least.) - each time I waited till the very end of the end credits thinking, ok, now they'll play it, and it's not there! Does anybody know at what point it was cut from the movie soundtrack, why and maybe it was kept on some overseas version of this movie?
