That stop you are at in Quartzsite is the old one. It has a combination V2 and V3. The Ford/Chevy/all other non-Tesla's can not use that location. Right around the corner from there is an 84 stall, all V3 under a solar panel canopy...it allows for non-Tesla's to charge there. Your car will always route you to the older location becasue 'technically' it is closer to the freeway. The new location is about .05 miles further and is located behind the TERRIBLE's Convenience store. WAY BETTER than sitting behind a Carl's Jr.!!!!! It also has a small dog area with fake grass and obviously a NICE convenience store.....check it out on the way back!!
It needs to go slow down before getting to a new lower speed limit. I keep having it going 63 in a 55 and then it’s still going 63 when it hits the 40 mph sign THEN slows down. But like, it cannot be going 63 in a 40. It HAS to be possible to plan its slow down
Picking up a 2018 M3 LR RWD today in Utah and driving back to NY on free FSD, car was early enough org owner got the free HW3 upgrade, also just did CCS upgrade just in case I need it in 3300 miles
Can you pls ask Louise to record those critical moments on FSD V12? Like the “suicide lane” turns, shifting lanes through heavy traffic, unprotected left turns, U-Turns, or in busy areas driving near pedestrians. Great video! I like the vlog style content, but it would be cool to see what the car’s made of!!
There’s an option for “exit passing lane” in the EAP settings. Try disabling that and seeing if fsd will maintain HOV. It shouldn’t have any affect but worth a shot
The new update is only for street. The new stack isn’t integrated with the freeway stuff yet. So it’s kind of drive about the same. On the freeways that used to.
You need to go to the drive down the street behind Terrible’s gas station because there is much larger supercharger station behind with like 50 stations and covered with solar panels.
Oh yeah if you already had V12 the new update is not al that. The only cool feature is the auto parking. I LOVE that. It freaks out if a human appears anywhere but normally it's fine. Mine has this thing where it will change lanes but not commit, so it straddles two lanes for way too long before committing to the new lane. It also loves to change lanes a lot when on the freeway. What I've noticed is that it's cognizant of the cars in front and behind you, and how fast they are going. It takes that into consideration with your max speed you have set. If I'm in a specific lane going 75 and the car behind me is going about 76-77, it will change lanes to let them pass. Other way around, if the car in front is not maintaining that speed, it will change lanes to pass. I don't like it so I tend to stay in the slow lanes to avoid stuff like that

Have had it for a week and used it 3 times. Lots errors when double turning lanes, not switching lanes when I tell it to. Around traffic I have no confidence in it. I say maybe 60% correct as is

I'm wondering if hardware limitations effects how it drives with older models? Does having the new cameras and latest chip make for a better experience? Still love the having it for the highway drives, it seems more capable and confident versus city. FSD visualization and auto lane change is nice, especially when you tell it move over. Feels like it needs more time in the oven though before you can think about Robotaxis.
The distance that FSD allows alongside Semi trucks and buses is relatively recent ... but it was always too close for me and this is significantly much better and safer ...
I've had a FSD trial for a couple months and I'm not impressed tbh, pretty similar to how you feel. Its put me in some scary situations to where I'm reluctant to use it anymore. People talking about robo taxis being not far off are high on Elon kool-aid lol
I don't understand how this is a thing and it keeps getting resources put into it. I would never spend real money on FSD... I have all the same problems you do. It doesn't get speed limits correct, it takes turns too early etc... FSD desperately needs road awareness as well, it will hit literally every pothole. I haven't been in a situation with speed bumps yet and curious if it slows down for them. As long as FSD has been in development, its very much a let down at this point.
FSD doesnt add real value to existing owners (especially early adopters with hw2) beyond what should be called level 2. Instead as the ai model gets closer to viable tesla will move away from selling vehicles and instead operate a fleet. It might take 20 years to get their so dont expect a tesla with fsd to earn money any time soon.

yeah he had a decent amount of negative comments about it. you think it varies from model year to model year? even though they have most of the same hardware and software? i dont think that would make a difference but not sure.
