LITTLE ROCK, AR - #Tornado #Damage in #LittleRock where a significant tornado struck on Friday March 31st. Numerous homes were destroyed in the #Breckenridge community off of Breckenridge Drive and Shackleford. The most intense damage occurred near the Fire Department where damage consistent with top of the scale EF-3 winds were found in a couple of homes. The storm survey continues in the area, but these bricks homes are shown completely destroyed with debris scattered everywhere.

I used to live in Little Rock .. I was always terrified of the violent storms we had . I moved to another state where most homes were built w/ basements.. I felt safer w/ a place to shelter . My thoughts and prayers are with the people who suffered this horrendous storm. I still have family there and they were spared any injuries or damage.
A shelter is way better then a basement. A basement is scary if over f1 or 2
I felt safe in the brick house w/2 floors above me in northern Illinois.. I only had to retreat to the basement twice .. I now live in hurricane territory.. but at least I know when they are coming and take appropriate action.
Little Rock rarely ever get a violent storm
@@louisstrong9405 I lived there 50 yrs ago , maybe your interpretation of violent and mine are of a different ilk.
@@louisstrong9405little rock gets them frequently especially during the warmer months with random microbursts and straight line winds. Tornadoes while it's rare for any state we've had a little bit of an uptick in the past few years
I was camping at lake catherine state park with the kids and decided to leave at 3 am in the morning because of the possibility of severe weather. If I had left at checkout time I would have been on the interstate in the middle of all this. So sad prayers go out to all affected.
This is like borderline EF4
@Erikk Hyndman Not necessarily. First, the high-end EF-3 rating is a preliminary rating. More work has to be done over the next day or two before the final rating is shared.
Furthermore, you have to keep in mind that the EF damage rating does not depend on just the damage you see from drone footage. The damage indicators the engineers & meteorologists in the damage assessment teams use are also based on the structural integrity of the buildings affected by the tornado, e.g. the 'EF standards' require wood frame structures that were built to code with the proper materials, including the required type & spacing of anchor bolts connecting the roof frames to the wall frames, and the same connecting the wall frames to a concrete foundation. The damage indicators also require that the structure has been well-maintained, e.g. there has been no deterioration to the wood framing by water damage, termites, etc..
For example, many of the homes & apartment buildings destroyed in the May 22, 2011 Joplin, Missouri EF-5 tornado were not built to code and/or the structural integrity of the homes & apartment buildings had been compromised by water/mould damage, lack of repair, repair with improper materials, etc. (*) These issues meant that, despite the incredible destruction seen by everyone (and the terrible number of injured & fatalities), closer examinations by the NWS experts determined that the structures in the path of the tornado were not as strong as they should have been. This, in-turn, meant that the damage assessment teams could not find evidence that proved that the buildings must have been destroyed by a violent tornado with winds in excess of 199mph (EF-5 level damage). As it turned out, the only evidence that proved that the tornado was capable of causing EF-5 level damage came from the movement of a few extremely heavy concrete barriers.
(*) These issues are far more common with residential buildings in the southern USA & in the Midwest than many people realize.
I believe it was rated 165mph and I’m pretty sure EF4 starts at 170mph
@@kylebarbarino537 EF4 starts at 166 mph. Its literally straddling the line. And NWS of Little Rock has already said an upgrade to EF4 is possible.
Yes, high end EF 3 by NWS yesterday.... But that's just a preliminary so far, as of yesterday afternoon.
@@brandontyler1754 Most of the time the preliminary rating they go with is the final rating
That's where I grew up at in my childhood years to high-school, I'm just shocked 😢❤
It's so incredible to see this carnage and realize people survived this.
It's very scary. We sincerely sympathize with you
We are in north Little Rock it hit our neighbors house and went down our street it only got our mailbox 🙏🏼🙏🏼 feeling blessed but sad at the same time watching all our neighbors struggle thru this
I am in Cammack Village😢 I am glad y’all made it. What a horrific event.
I don't know which is more powerful, wind or water.
Prayers go out for this community. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Water is more powerful and heavy it crushes everything
Water. Absolutely terrified of hurricanes, tsunamis and floods, personally
That area of LR hasn't ever seen any storms like this one...usually we get it hard out hwy5 in Bryant and Benton...they used to like to "creep" up I-30/hwy5 headed towards LR. In the early 80's I was in school at Heritage Christian School on Stagecoach Road and we took virtually a direct hit-tore off the end of our gym and blew out all the windows and glass double doors in the school. We were TERRIFIED! On a lighter note, my Dad was an alcoholic and told me when he picked me up a little later that he was under the pool table (WITH his beer, of course!) watching it happen! Thanks a lot Pops, God rest your soul! I am praying for everyone affected by this storm at 6am and 6pm every day if you'd like to join me in spirit. God Bless Everyone!
I don't blame you for being terrified at school! What a thing to experience in a place that's supposed to be Safe!
As much as I like the drone footage for an overall look at the swath of damage, I still much prefer seeing it from the ground perspective. You can't really comprehend the massive piles of debris when you are looking at them from 200 feet in the air, straight down. Please show some ground footage.
This is gonna be a catastrophic tornado season! Already has been very bad!
I will pray 🙏🏿 for all! I went through the same nightmare in Peoria Illinois!
Excellent drone footage, as usual!👍👍 The damage seen in this video really reinforces the importance of being weather aware, heeding tornado warnings, and taking shelter in an interior room without windows, in lowest level of the house. I would think that those who were caught in the top floor of these homes and/or by large windows on any level would have been seriously injured or killed. Those who were able to shelter in a basement, or in an interior room on the lowest floor (ground level or basement) would have had a good chance of escaping injury or ending up with injuries were not too serious.
An interesting perspective would be from high enough to see the path and width of the tornado.
It was very windy & there were a lot of helicopters out yesterday surveying damage. I went out with my drone yesterday and kept it under 150 ft for those reasons… under normal circumstances we can go to 400 ft but some areas in little rock limit it to a little under that.
Praying 🙏🏼 🙏🏼🙏🏼
How come there are not any emergency vehicles around looking for potentially trapped or injured people?
After they had already gone in and cleared houses. Police barricades at all areas to prevent looting
The tornado happened at 225 in the afternoon. If I’m not wrong, this footage was shot very early next day after rescues were done and residents could go in.
I just lived thru this. It was very surreal. The recovery efforts will be long.
Oh my word! Where did you go for shelter?
@@deirdrepasko9965 I was home with my dog. I barricaded us in one end of a hallway that has no walls or windows to outside and put a mattress over us.
@@blydnhvghn how very frightening! I'm glad you both survived!
@@deirdrepasko9965 thank you We were very lucky!
This is ef0 or greater damage
💔🙏
people driving the interstate as if nothing has happened
Well.. yeah.. people have places to go.
Life goes on!
What are they supposed to do? Unfortunately things happen but life always goes on. Tomorrow is never promised for anyone.
We were trapped in between traffic during this on the interstate. There is nothing we could do, but keep going to get as far away as possible. we were scared, could hear the tornado sirens going off. we are not from that area. Just passing through. 😢 traffic bumper to bumper, couldn't stop. You don't want or need to stop. We wasn't from that area. There was nothing we could do but pray it did not hit and keep moving with traffic. We could see the funnel cloud. 😢 Horrible, helpless feeling.
It didn't take out the entire city. Most of the city is fine.
An even worse system coming on Tuesday into Wednesday, this is horrible.
Doubt it will be worse
@@user-vr3mr5eu7y They're saying it could be, actually, so don't jinx it!
so sad so shocking to watch you build a house how many months or years but this kind of disaster happened just gone in instant just terrible to watch
PRAYERS, For All! Sad Time For Everyone! GOD Will Get YOU Through This!
Not being a smart ass but if you live in a place where there are tornadoes why are house built from timber framing?
cost $$$ ... duh...being old, I am a smart ass. Amen
Housing with timber framing is what most people can afford. And many more people buy or rent homes cuz they can't afford to build themselves.
Most people aren't wealthy and can't afford reinforced homes. This is such an elementary awareness that it amazes me how many people don't understand it!!
@@burtcooper612 your life is cheap so yeah, duh, I'm sure you would be wishing you spent a few extra $s when you see your house get blown away. And you are not smart, just an asshole an old one at that

They need stonger building codes
🙏 Prayers for all these innocent souls suffering from death and destruction for the crimes of our government supporting and fueling death and destruction of defenseless people from around the world especially by Israel 😢😢😢
Uh, huh?
Just stop it.
W😎 W what a battle zone Mother Nature wins Mankind Lost 🙏✝️ Praying 4 those affected ♦️♦️♦️‼️
With the level of crime Little Rock has, I hope this doesn't cause even more inflation in the already high levels.
GOD'S wrath on a wicked nation.
A nation, GOD, had so blessed.
Nope. Just the annual spring time tornado season. Has happened well before we arrived here.
Why is God unleashing His wrath on the Bible Belt so much? Where are all the intense tornadoes in NYC or coastal California?
Attributing the destruction of towns by tornadoes to God's wraith is meaningless shaming of people with a myth. The ancient people's thousands of years ago said the exact same nonsense about Zeus becoming wrathful or any number of other god's!! It's all hubris!!
Every year, same ole' story. Humans will never learn.
Tornados can kill ! JESUS SAVES!
Yep,,,,,"Repent and believe or you`ll die in your sins." God said that, not me. Amen
This has nothing to do with the god in one’s head.
Can he stop Tornados from occurring?
@@leighbotts9694 the whole point is earth life is mainly meaningless compared to ur "eternal" life or out of simulation or just ur mind etc etc.. hardship n randomness is needed, probably on purpose. I'm not religious but
this is so terrible. I feel for all of you. Esspecially because in the eye's of American politicians, there's nothing wrong with our polution of the enviorment. U.S.A. even stept out of the international agreements of stopping our polution in our enviorment.
See for yourself and think with your own brains please.
Thank you Mr. Trump, for opening all of your mines to mine for cole and such. Thank you for opening those and giving more jobs to uneducated people. Putting up a ponzie scam just for companies earning lots of money polluting our enviorment. Thank you.
Thank you Mr. Trump for those 50+ tornado sightings this weekend. I think the american people really love Mr. Trump. He's the best!!!
😂 the dumbest comment I’ll read today. Tornadoes are Trump’s fault. Thanks for the amusement. FYI, you should at least send a bill to him so his rent isn’t free.
That comment it is like either extreme sarcasm or extreme ignorance. It's hard to tell the difference sometimes.
Climate change has not shown to cause more tornadoes. While it does increase the energy needed for powerful thunderstorms (including tornado-producing ones), upper-level wind shear, another important factor in tornado development, is actually weakened by climate change due to the decreasing contrast between polar temperatures and warmer temperatures (such as that from the Gulf). These are just average trends, however, and there will always be exceptions to the rule.
The views from the drone appear to show the remnants of hoarding in some of the homes.

We removed God from the public square. Now God will remove the public square. Or it's planar
Little Rock has? Mississippi has? Why are all the bad tornadoes in the conservative Bible Belt if this is the case? You’d think God would have sent tornadoes to blow Los Angeles off the map at this point.
I have commented 2 years and I still confirm that I solved the global warming problem.
From what I have researched and analyzed The violence is increasing than it has been every year.
if
UN approves me to solve global warming problem, I will fix the problem ASAP. There is enough information I have to prove to everyone that scientific approaches and solutions to global warming can be restored to normal.. ...
As long as the globalists are employing the geoengineering program it will be impossible to stop global warming. Are you familiar with the commentaries of Dane Wigington? They're on youtube. They're spraying the atmosphere with aluminum, barium and strontium.
There hasn’t been an EF-5 in almost a decade. There were four EF-5’s in one day in 2011. The last one was in 2013. I’d say violence has not increased.
