Ahh, Nick Menza 1990 drum sound. Nothing can beat it!
2:58
Actually, in the beginning Dave wanted Harris to be the lead singer in MEGADETH; its funny cos he really fits great with the band, the sound, even the look.
That's news to me!
@@seanharrismusicwow it’s so cool that the Sean Harris himself responded to this comment.
one of the most unique metal singers out there. Great phrasing!
sean harris was the biggest natural talented rock vocalist from Britain since Robert Plant
Prob the greatest ever, next to Rob Halford.
Hold on there sunshine.. You've got Bruce Dickinson.. Brian Johnson.. Legendary singers too! And imo way better than Plant
Edit: and Halford! But that's just my Opinion.. There's other singers too! 🎤
@@byzantineification Wow, kind words! Thank you
@@rissamarie9333 You're very kind, thank you!
What ever happened to Sean Harris? Is he still singing professionally? Top 10 singers of all-time!
Hello, I'll be releasing music in the very near future. Thank you for the kind words!
It's like the Heavy Metal version of when Elvis met the Beatles. It's that awesome.
Nick's double kicked sounded amazing on this track
drums sound so tight, damn
i was there! brilliant night
*Sean still had his voice =)*
*This is sexy as hell. thanks for uploading ✘✘*
Still do!
Marty nailed this solo , and Nick drums..
Still miss Nick Menza #RIP
Seans leather jacket looks so cool
Nice to see Deth doing a cover. Never seen this before Cool!! THX
evidentemente diamond head , ha sido un gran influyente entre megadeth y metallica, gracias a esta banda diamond head, nacio metallica y despues megadeth
y dios bendiga siempre estas 3 eternas bandas. nos vemos en el buen infierno. saludos!!!
Omg this song rips!
Thanks a lot for the upload!!! Awesome performance!
Fantastic, not seen this before. Cheers.
Sounds great
Wow- this brings back memories-
This was one of the best gigs i've ever been to-
It fucking ruled!!
Why they haven't released the whole thing on dvd !!! It would sell shit loads!
Fantastic!!❤
this version is the best ever!!
sounds great....
thats a mighty bass sound goin on there! xD
Best megadeth line up, haha!
Such tight sounding jam.
Badass Heavy Metal
que hermoso
he sounds better with megadeth than metallica. less mistakes in the music you know. and thats good because i remember of all of the guys in metallica mustaine was the biggest diamond head fan!!
I don't think so. There's no doubt that Mustaine was a big fan, but before Metallica became a band in Oct of 81, Lars traveled from L.A to London to see Diamond Head in June of that year. He ended up meeting Brian Tatler and Tatler was so taken by Lars, that he allowed Lars to travel/live with him for the next couple weeks or more.
I always assumed Dave was more into Angel Witch, just by his early playing style.
he still is, according to his bio on GimmeMetal, his all-time favourite albums are LZ IV and DH’s Lighting to the nations
No lars is he fuckin followed them around and shit
ハイタッチするデイヴとマーティかっこいい!
I too am a guitar player who has noticed this difference in their styles. Thanks for the good point mate, keep thrashing!
nice man =)
That would be fucking awesome!
exactly
fucking epic
dave is the man
fuck yeah \m/
How can anyone possibly even compare mettalica's version to this version. Megadeth has Sean Harris in vocals that says it all.
so fuckin cool
fuck yea this rules! megadeth are gods!
today my Atrophy 'Socialized Hate' cd came in the mail, and i tell you what, even the second and 3rd rate thrash bands of the 80's shit all over most of the stuff that passes as 'metal' these days. I was soo glad to see that Megadeth could not only go back to their thrash roots, but make it an up to date, melodic and intelligent thrash record!
Oh ok well the source i got my info from must have been wrong. Menza and Dave didn't get along too well anyway so they were never going to last much longer anyway. No matter who has been in it through the years, Megadeth has always been a force to be reckoned with in the metal genre! Endgame is a fucking incredible album, released almost 30 years after the band formed :-p
yeeaaHhhh
Sort of crazy to hear Megadeth with a vocalist who can actually sing.
@Over Shantae'd The fuck are you saying?
Hey great job! Synchronizing audio and video is usually a pain in the ass.
ahh, thought so :P
cara esse foi um dos bagulho mais louco que ja vi, esse é o vocalista original da banda preferida da porra do Dave Mustaine, que influenciou os caras a criar o Metallica, esse video é uma raridade que só a internet mesmo pode nos trazer
viva a internet
Can't stop listening,it's like cocaine💥💥💥💥💥💥
Megadeth and Metallica are probably two of my alltime favorite bands, in addition to Iron Maiden. Metallica's version is great, but I gotta say that Megadeth just did it a LOT better when they covered this song live. The aggression is just amazing, you can't help but headbang like a maniac when you listen to this version of the song..
Now stop arguing about who's the best and just appreciate both bands already.
Word! 👍
I don't diss Mustaine, he's very talented and deserves the praise. I just would not credit him for being the sole creator of that style.
yeah, great story. I can see Megadeth stealing the show to Slayer. I hear the songs in Warchest very often and the first one, Rattlehead is amazing, the speed, Dave's solos, bass, drums, everything. That was a tight band, dont if better than this one, wich is a great line-up. MEGADETH LIVE IS A DRUG.
never heard Menza double kick that fast before, and im a huge Megadeth fan :-p. Shaun Drover, slays him though!
someone can reply me what does mustaine says at the beggining
wait, is from diamond head!!!!!! rock always surprised me
best comment ever!!
yeah i totally agree endgame was awesome probably the best since rust in peace i think
3:23 what the hell happened with those powerful bassdrums?
@JaymzkgSerbia Yep, I know we can go on forever. I intend to if YOU won't admit that this version is so much totally more badass and better.
ellefson rules!!!
@JaymzkgSerbia No, you're mistaken. It sure as hell is.
@800adam008 no its not, this is live metallicas is studio,
@JaymzkgSerbia Oh nooo.
I'm a metallica fan but nick can make look lars like a slooow drumer...
Lars is the worst, laziest drummer in Metal. Nick Menza pisses all over him...
yeah right. Why can't you just be honest and say that both bands could hold their own back then. No one individual is responsible.
it sounds heavier, that's why.
mustaine did not co-write motorbreath. in the credits it says james hetfield.
mustaine said himself that tanner wrote hit the lights and motorbreath! and he was asked about it not just spewing up about them out of revenge!
@JaymzkgSerbia But... It is.
Wow this is awesome. so much better than metallicas version.
This is on Warchest? The video? How come It's not on my copy :S
@LachoDroogie Why do you hate the black album and the loads?
@JaymzkgSerbia you watched the video, therefore it was proven. And you liked it so much that you can't distinguish this new unreal level of like. So you just interpret it as you disliking this video. It is the only explanation my dear.
Agreed he even downpicks things that would be easier to alternate pick, like the melody in for whom the bells tolls on cliff em all, he's downing picking it and its like, why? lol, guess he finds it easier
don't have to be sorry for having an opinion mate, Nick Menza was an awesome drummer in his time (got shit later on and actually didn't make it back into Megadeth because Dave didn't think he was good enough after having a few shows with him before DeGrasso joined) The albums Nick was on though were deffo some of Megadeths best stuff
Dave Mustaine fucking awesome
@ThazuaBlackarrow
Thats funny as to you saying that Metallica's last great album was Ride The Lightning seems like you left out Master Of Puppets also AJFA was pretty good..As for Megadeth's last great album being RIP well what bout Youthanasia and Countdown also had some good songs...Shit maybe you should listen to more of the big 4 stuff as to other bands in general.
"Uh" yes he did.
and don't try say Hetfield wrote hit the lights and motorbreath before Mustaine was in the band because he didn't.
a friend of the band named Hugh Tanner wrote them and never got credited!
@800adam008 No, I said this is live and Metallica's is studio, I didn't say which is better. Completely Different versions. If Megadeth did a studio version, chances are it would be "soooo much better", If you can find me a video of Metallica playing its electric live, AND better than this let me know, but that ain't going to happen.
are you new?
good shit. i prefer seeing dave just play guitar, he can concentrate more.
The only reason Sean Harris is on that tour is because Metallica, who got the band back together and flew them over to do some shows with them.
such a brilliant thrash album ay! Chris Broderick is epic on it! No fillers, all killers!
Chris Broderick wasnt even on the stage brahh
mustaine ownz
@JaymzkgSerbia Well, it's not because this is better.
I think for Dave Mustaine playing this kind of song reminds his old good memories with Metallica.
On this video as you can see Dave Mustaine really enjoys playing and maybe dreamin that he is still with Metallica along with Cliff Burton or either Ron McGovney.
Papa Het's vocals are better, but I like Megadeth's playing more. Especially Nick Menza'a drumming :D
Enough said. They could mix it in a possible Big 4 reunion (maybe with another band replacing Slayer)
it was actually because he had something wrong with his leg i cant remember what was wrong with it but it was because of his leg not because he wasnt good enough
@LachoDroogie im sorry dud just my opinion but nick mena owns on drums :D
i still like the metallica version better, it's just soooo much better
@MEGADETHTHRETH nah chances are it would fuckin suck in comparison metallica fuckin rules
/watch?v=F5WIsffO3H8 face to face... with same help... so who is better?
Finally Megadeth has a vocalist that can sing.
@JaymzkgSerbia No.
dave is megadeth and dave is metallica. both band swould be nowhere if i weren't for him. thaty why he is the god of metal. basically the inventer of thrash and speed metal!
I don't like Megadeth, but I have to admit that they really know how to cover a song...
Sean Harris is great!!!!
Yeah.....like the time dickhead dave thought he'd try to keep up with Metallica's rise, so he covered a Nancy Sinatra classic PMSL
Thank you!
fuck, i hate when youtube doesnt put my replies where they belong. anyways, wicked vid!
sorry to burst your bubble but no it wasn't. go watch the mustaine phone interview from 1984!
metallicas version better? First of all, nick menza kicks the shit out of lars, they have the singer of Diamond Head on vocals, and Marty shredded the shit out of that solo.
Do you really prefer Hetfield's singing?? I think Sean Harris is easily a much better singer
Hetfield is more powerful
I'll take it
metallica's version is way better, megadeth only adds it speed (actually speed is what megadeth is all about, dont get me wrong I LOVE megadeth, but still I think metallica is better)
I like this better than Metallica's version.
your opinion of the greatest songs on Kill em all is subjective, he cowrote 4 songs on that album, that's all, there are 5 other brilliant songs on that album, all written by Hetfield plus Burton's solo. As for the solos, K was only a month or 2 in and he perfected and played 'em better than Dave, he also did not copy them note for note, that's a complete misconception and you know it. As for selling out I remember Dave trying to sellout with Risk and Cryptic writings so both bands are guilty.
Yeah, it really IS about conforming to a genre, huh? Musicians are obviously vessels for us to project the music we WANT to hear onto; the music that they wrote years before, and are probably trying to break free from (what Metallica did with (Re)Load).
Why would we let musicians explore their creativity, and grow as their music does? Why would they try something new when they enjoy so much playing Master of Puppets and A Tout Le Monde over...and over...and over again?
/SO MUCH SARCASM
