      @@rodolfolugo9594 wrong. The Cowboys are actually limited by the NFL to 90,000 for regular season games and 95,000 for playoff games. The 105,000 potential capacity is for a Super Bowl so the League can make a shed load of extra money at the expense of Jerry Jones

    An Interesting observation is that many football stadiums in Europe have roofs (I don’t mean a dome). NFL stadia, unless they’re domes, are open to the elements. A few years ago I read Simon Ingles’ book on stadiums. The biggest cost when constructing a stadium is often the roof 😊.

    • @johnford5568
      @johnford5568 6 лет назад

      Yes the roof has to be supported by cantilever if no columns in the stands, very expensive. The further the roof reaches out, the stronger it has to be, and it also needs an equal anchor somewhere going the other way. Saints fan here, if I did the dome today, I would say just put the roof over the stands and leave the field open. Maybe some big ass fans for our humid climate, amazing what shade and fans and wearing shorts can do and it puts you back in the elements some. I hate nice fall sunday afternoons inside the dome. Europe has to cover the fans due to rain frequency and cold I would imagine, at least get the rain off of them. Arrowhead stadium was way ahead of its time, beautiful.

    • @ProfJul
      @ProfJul 6 лет назад

      I'm not sure how that observation is interesting. In America the elements are less of a factor. It doesn't rain nearly as much as it does in most of America comparative to Europe. It would be pointless, except in the North Eastern United States where most stadiums (Not just NFL) are built with a roof structure. If I were to build a stadium there is no way I'd spend the extra 100 million for something that isn't needed.

    • @johnford5568
      @johnford5568 6 лет назад

      It is interesting that nfl teams with retractable roofs often do not open them even in good weather. Back to Europe, providing a roof for fans is good for at least precipitation but the cost is offset by seasons that run 38 games for example in the premier league as opposed to 16 in the NFL. They also have many other games in other leagues and cups sometimes totaling in the 60's. So assuming half are at home, that's 30 home games vs 8 maybe ten in the NFL, consider the cantilevered roofs paid.

    • @MrPietrasantino
      @MrPietrasantino 6 лет назад

      Yes, I Work Hard. Yes, less of a factor perhaps (I’m not a meteorologist) but still a factor! I’ve watched many an NFL game where I see spectators dressed in plastic bags. New York, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, dare I go in? Spectator comfort has always been paramount in the US. Indeed the EPL clubs have looked at this as a model to follow. Money is rarely an issue for NFL with a number of stadiums in excess of $1B. Having said that, many of the newer stadiums are domes. Perhaps the penny (or cent) as dropped!

      Normally I go to football games in rain sometimes but that doesn’t bother me, it happens sometimes, not every arena always has a roof, like take a look at soccer for example they are expected to play in rain too, that’s why most arenas don’t have roofs.
